@@hobhobgood3960 I just havent messed with tattooing water colors. I may give that a try and if/when I do I will certainly document it and share my experiences.
Another tip for beginners: notice how he started at the bottom of the design, and progressed up through the tattoo. If he started at the top of the design, his stencil would have been rubbed away by his hands. Something to always keep in mind. Also, not only do you want to think about your line before you start it, think about your outline when you are designing your tattoo. Design your artwork towards your strengths in tattooing. Until you are excellent at lining, don’t put really long lines in your artwork-especially long lines that are not going to have any shading up against them to hide any imperfections. P.S. try to find an apprenticeship with coworkers that will help you on your path and share knowledge with you. A good crew will be invaluable to your growth as an artist.
Very helpful bro i been drawing on paper for about 5 to 6 years not a huge level by nice decent art work . I barely started tattooing on people recently i had a very bad tattoo and kinda lower me down watching that art work i did on someone still a started i have nobody helping me with nothing everything i do and see i learn from videos . Like you said a nice crew of helpful people that been tattooing would be nice but i dont . Thanks for the tips man and the guy that done this video it helps alot i would love more tips like this
There's something refreshing about someone not gatekeeping and keeping people from learning. People will always ignore the rules and tattoo, so you might as well give them the info to do it well. It's harm reduction. 💕
That's kinda how I feel about it to Liz, it's harm reduction. But most importantly Im trying to help those who are out there trying to make this happen. Sadly there just aren't enough apprenticeships available for those who want to learn. SO i'm really happy to hear that the videos are helping people. And thank you Liz for the support it's much appreciated!! 🤘🤘
@@ArtSomething I work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week so I don't really have time to do apprenticeship and this video helps out so much in my one or two hours of free time before I go to sleep so thank you very much for this
@@ArtSomething Would you recommend to be a self taught tattoo artist? I would love to do it beside my pharmacy university and it would help me a lot plus I always wanted to have a new medium for my art .
I'm no beginner at all and I salute you for doing this. I don't need the information but I respect you for sharing it with those who needs it. Even tho the old timers hate you for doing this I think it's right to do it. Screw the snobby old school. Thank you.
Wow Herrapan I really respect you for saying that man.👍 Most tattooers frown upon what I am doing so I thank you for agreeing with this that really means a lot my friend. And thank you for the comment I appreciate that support! 🤘🤘
@@guaca7869 Genesis is right. Its tradition to get an apprenticeship and learn that way. And I must say that an apprenticeship is most often the best way to learn to tattoo. But there are not enough tattoo shops to support all those who want to learn the craft.
I started tattooing myself 4 years ago, to stop drinking, doing drugs, cutting, and to redirect my eating disorder. Yet I hadnt watched a video or "got advice". Until now. And boy am I glad this is the video I chose to watch first.
@@amonamoroso779 whats earning it? sucking d and mopping floors till some shop owner decides he can milk you correctly? The hypocrisy in the tattoo culture is a joke. Like its supposed to be badass and outlaw, but pussies wanna set up hella rules, cause they getting fat and comfy. Nah, lay down man, you in the way. If your sanitation and safety is on point and you arent sending people away with garbage, then what? I salute the real man that isnt afraid and can lend a hand to his fellow man, @Art-Something!
Wow bro you got it right away to the point the whole video i was thinking about the same thing that other tattoo artist will judge every while they say something
Why can't most tattooers be like you? The gate keeping for this kind of knowledge on RUclips and everywhere on the web is really sad, imo. Thanks for your great quality videos and all the awesome tips, you're awesome!
Thanks Chris really appreciate that!! 🙏 I'm happy to hear your enjoying the vids and learning from the tips here and there!! 👍👍🤘 The tattoo industry can be strange at times but at the end of the day everyone just wants to make the best tattoos they can. Thanks again Chris and Keep Rocking!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I’ve been tattooing for a while now about 3 years but I still respect that you are teaching these tips to people for free it’s always great to see someone willing to share there knowledge
A guy that knows what he is talking about, gives good advice and doesn't have an overwhelming personality. I feel your videos are going to be real helpful! :)
a lot of the advice that i’ve been getting is usually “you can’t mess up!!!” “you have to do so much work to be an artist” “it’s super hard” but the thing is, the more people tell me that i’m probably gonna mess up makes me think i’m going to mess up so i really appreciate you making this video and showing that anyone can do this with the right mindset and practice.
I've been trying to learn how to tattoo before I do an apprenticeship (I have very bad anxiety) and this video you made really helped me with the few issues I was having. Thank you for spreading your knowledge, a lot of people who try to explain tattooing make me super confused
Your attitude is so encouraging! You don’t understand how refreshing your positivity is for somebody going through the process of teaching themselves and overcoming so many difficult obstacles. You are quite literally the best 💝
Wow thank you so much Connor! 👍👍I appreciate the encouragement 🤘. I'm happy to hear the positivity is coming through strong. There is a lot of negativity surrounding tattooing and the hush hush of how to tattoo. SO i'm happy to share my point of view with others and show them with hard work you can make a dream come true!! Don't stop believing in yourself weather it be tattooing or anything else! Thanks for watching Connor appreciate the support my friend! 🤘
I'm just here to say that as a side hobby I've ALWAYS wanted to get into tattooing. After I got out of the Army I talked to some people and they all said the same thing, "Don't get a machine get an apprenticeship." Which I COMPLETELY understand. No one was willing to help at All. So 2 years later I got fake skin. I disobeyed their rules due to the lack of help. I can honestly say that your videos are amazing. You have a great attitude towards teaching and helping others learn! Thank you!
Thank you so very much Dean!! I really appreciate the kind words. And I’m really happy to hear you disobey the rules because those rules were put in place to keep you down. Sounds like you have a passion for it I wish you the very best Dean in your journey and thank you so much for watching we really appreciate it🤘🤘
Thank you for actually teaching instead of judging. My wife just started learning and I will definitely recommend your videos to her. She’s been feeling down about her techniques lately and I really do believe people like you can give her hope to keep going. Thank you again
My Dad and Uncle are both tattoo artists and they think the same as you, there's very little point in trying to hoard information about tattooing and keep it between professionals. People have been doing home tattoos forever, and will continue to do so, they might as well have the information available to help them do it safely. They both know the supply for apprenticeships doesn't meet the demand, it's not possible for everyone who wants to tattoo to get an official apprenticeship, if they want to tattoo friends or family then giving them a helping hand shouldn't be frowned upon. Kudos for doing this man. Those are some damn clean lines.
Sounds like your Dad and Uncle are some pretty wise individuals. I agree with them as well for sure!! Apprenticeships can be great and im sure everyone would love to go down the traditional rout of getting an apprenticeship and learning to tattoo that way. However as we know that just cant happen for everyone. Tattooing is an art form and I dont know why its "secrets" need to be so heavily guarded. Thank you Fitz and I thank your father and uncle as well!! Keep Rocking Brother!! 🤘🤘
Thats great to hear! And its awesome that you are educating yourself now so that when the time comes you already know what goes into this. Best of luck to you! keep drawing cause thats the base of ALL of this. Thanks for watching!! 🤘🤘
julzzz B.F.V. I’m 16 I did one on my self and two on friends they came out really good I watched someone do a bigger more detailed one on me hoping I can start doin those and open up my own shop one day I’m amazing at drawing so I thought it good b a good career
Thanks for being humble enough to share the info. So many artists try to keep those that are passionate about the art form and lifestyle of tattooing down. The work will speak for itself not the attitude. Thanks bro.
Well said Bert really well said my friend!! 👍👍 And I wish the world had more humility. No one person is more special or deserving of information than another. It's time for the tattoo industry to make a change and I hope we can help push things. By empowering the people. Thank you Bert for watching and supporting the channel!!🤘🤘
Would you possibly be able to do a video explaining the differences in a lining machine/shading machine and when to use them? Please and thank you :) or maybe even how to tune a machine/ troubleshoot
I'm a traditional artist that just picked up tattooing from a friend's recommendation, got my kit, and fake skin and didn't know where to start lol this video is very informational. Thanks!
Thats Awesome to hear Official!!👍 I'm stoked to hear this video was able to help you out when you needed it! Best of luck to you brother and enjoy the process!! 🤘
My dude i watched this video not long after it came out, about 2 years into my tattooing journey. another 2 years later, massive improvements from your videos but i always come back just for refreshers. Amazing vids and straight to the point of them. Keep it up!
I've been an apprentice for quite awhile and I LOVE that you are a tattooist WITHOUT a dumb fucking attitude. I cannot stand the way most tattooists act. There's nothing wrong with being positive and honest. Good for you dude.
I am a total beginner. I started out challenged by my daughter, since i love tattoos so much, and after a lot of searching for online guidance, I found your videos. Instructive, clear and above all humble to the point of sharing your own trials & errors as source of learning. I've been practicing for several months now and i continue to come back to your videos and reviews, where I can always find another "pearl". Thanks "Sensei"! :)
You are a natural teacher! Your videos are seriously the best, easy to understand. The quality of the videos is great, feels like I am in the room with you. I appreciate the added notes through out the video and the important little details most videos don't show you, like breaking down the lines vs trying to do finish it all in one, and utilizing hand placement to your advantage!!! I am on my second day of teaching myself how to tattoo and because of your videos I actually feel like I have a shot. Thank you!
I’ve been looking into become a tattoo artist for about 3 years. After many artists turning me down to apprentice I’ve finally this year turned to online training. This video was incredibly helpful. Too many people afraid of competition instead of just being confident in their own work and own personalities and being willing to share their knowledge. When I choose a tattoo artist I look at their attitudes and if it’s crap I don’t care how good their work is, I won’t give them my business if they can’t be kind. You are a glimmer of light here. Thank you.
I recently started an apprenticeship and It's unfortunate I cannot be at the shop as much as I want to because of Covid, so I am so glad I found these videos and I can keep learning from home when my mentor isn't available
That’s awesome Jon really glad to hear the channel has helped you out through these difficult times of not being able to be at the shop. Keep at it keep learning and keep rocking🤘🤘🤘
Thank you Kevin really appreciate that man and I’m glad you really enjoyed the video and that it was somewhat easy to follow. Great to hear from Barcelona!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of the first ink slingers I’ve ever seen that didn’t talk like he was God among men and don’t care to help beginners like me with some knowledge. I’ve been painting and drawing for 30 years. I’ve been playing guitar for 27 years. I built a lot of mechanical things. So I’m a long time artist to say the least. It has been a long time passion of mine to learn out to lay ink. I have a very steady hand for lines, I understand shading as a artist. I just don’t know how to relate my skill into laying ink. So thanks for this. I’ve got my first machine and I’m about to start tatting some oranges for the next couple of months and then starting on my self. And by then I’ll be ready to start as an apprentice at a shop. Hopefully I’ll be tattooing professionally for customers by 2022.
Thank you Fishmaster I appreciate that kind words and support!! And thank you for taking the time to watch the vids and support the channel. Sounds like you have a solid plan and are thinking smart. I wish you the best of luck as you continue down this awesome journey!! And keep Rocking!!
I had an apprenticeship set up before the pandemic started and I was so excited for it (I still have it, but.. y'know, who knows when it'll be over). I've been riffling through RUclips trying to find a decent teacher in the meantime to jumpstart some learning and honestly so far you are the BEST I've found on RUclips for learning and video structure, etc. I just wanted to say thank you so much!! I'm so glad you're on here and you're doing an excellent job :') keep it up, man, I know I'm not the only one who appreciates it 💛
Wow thank you so much oof I really do appreciate that!!! 🙏 And thank you very much for the support!! Congrats by the way on the apprenticeship thats awesome man!! 🤘🤘
I’m just beginning. Really just getting my machine and stuff next month but trying to absorb as much as I can. Been drawing since I was a kid and appreciate the content. And give a huge thanks for not being a Gatekeeper. Felt with a lot of gatekeepers in the Army and can’t say how detrimental it is to the next gen trying to gain knowledge so thank you!! I am 100% disabled Veteran and have the time to finally do it, while going to school as well I’ve always loved tattoos and wanted to always get started just took me a long time and many try’s at other jobs/ skills to finally make the leap but your videos are inspiring and have a great wife backing me too so thanks again. !!
Been interested in doing tattoos for awhile now, just got a little kit online. Been practicing on fruit and fake skin for lines and shading, etc. Still working on voltage and taking it one line at a time but your videos have been a lifesaver! Thanks man, keep doing what you do!
I watched he's videos for hours so I grab my tattoo gun that i brought a few months ago ive never used a tattoo gun before and im realy proud of me self lol . all thanks to his awesome man i learnt so much in one night . I would like to show u a tattoo that i done after i watch a few videos but im not sure hiw to put pictures up on here .
That's awesome to hear stussy!! 👍 I'm happy to hear the videos where able to help you get the push you needed to get to it and see if its something you want to pursue. Thanks so much for watching the videos and supporting the channel!! 🤘🤘
I have an apprenticeship at a local shop under 3 amazing artist. I also buy or at least read every book I can and watch whatever I can. I believe that knowledge is power and the more knowledgeable a person is and with different sources of knowledge or inspirations only leads to a better artist no matter their field. Thank you so much for your videos and Semper Fidelis!
Thank you this video itself helped critique some.major flaws in my hand work , and my lines are cleaner and shading better also the vibe and instruction was better than any teacher or artist has taught
Thank you for being so open. I had an apprenticeship almost 10 years ago so I've lost my touch. This helps me dramatically. Most artists around here are arrogant and think they're too good to teach. Super grateful for your channel.
Thank you so much. I started my apprenticeship just before the virus hit, and I felt like my tattoo career took a big hit. This is exactly what I was looking for; real info and inspiration.
Firstly, thank you for your service. The first thing that stuck out was the first picture in the video on your wall. I have nothing but respect for those that defended/are defending what i hold dear (god knows i can't given disabilities). And second, I like the way you explain the necessary steps to drop some ink on a canvas 😊 I'm trying to learn new things and your straightforward teaching makes it easier to learn.
My friend got me my kit today for my birthday. So I want to learn as much as I can before I practice on fake skin. So thank you so much for making these videos!!!!
I know this is an older video but thank you man. True story, I bought a cheap coil machine and got my brother in law to give me a tattoo. I introduced him to owner of mystic tattoo and got him a job as an apprentice. Now he is working at another shop and told me he has to charge me 200 an hour lol. I'm not looking for free tattoos but that was definitely a slap in the face. So here I am attempting to learn how to tattoo.. I greatly appreciate the content. Got another sub
Damn yeah I see how that could deff feel like a slap in the face. But sometimes the shop you work at wont really allow you to "hook people up" or give them a discount. (not saying that is the case). Either way we are happy to have you here and I hope the channel is able to help you out along the way. I wish you the best of luck and keep Rocking my friend!! 🤘🤘🤘
15 year-old here, I'm not necessarily invested in being a future tattoo artist but I'm definitely interested in keeping it as an option and, at the very least, learning more about the art. Love the informative video, thanks!
Thanks Sarah I’m glad you enjoy the content👍👍 and at 15 it’s totally understandable to not know exactly what you want to do. But I think it’s great that you’re already thinking of those things. And if you have a passion for art and tattooing could be an option for you. Thanks for watching and best of luck🤘👍🤘
never seen somebody that explains and make you understand as this videos do, my game has gone from cero to 100 in no time ..videos are easy ti understand and got the details needed...keep up the good work
ever since i was a child drawing was always my passion. i started tattooing at 12 years old and i kinda stopped because of my studies and other priorities. now im already 14 and i started back around 7 months ago. i really want to be a tattoo artist in the future! im still practicing, im not that good thoo, just a beginner and im sure this will vid help me ! nice vid!
Ive been drawing almost my whole life and as ive gotten older more of my friends begged me to start doing tattoos I think this will be a easy process and this video greatly helped thanks
Thank you for this video! As a newbie learning basics in hopes of persuing a career this was by far the most informative video I have come by yet. Most others will “tell you tips/tricks” without actually telling you anything. Thank you again!
I just wanna say man thank you for putting this video out. In high school, my art teacher was pushing me to pursue tattooing, she told me I have the art style for it and what not. I'm coming up to 7 years out of school and I have tried pursuing an apprenticeship from a few shops but man the judgmental attitude at some of these places is disgusting. I understand it is a difficult art to master but everyone has to start somewhere ya know? So instead of being the shop bitch for a year or so i did buy my own tattoo gun. This knowledge you are sharing is what's gonna help me to improve on this craft without an old head talking down to me. Thank you so much, man.
I wish those people who try to stop people from learning remembered that they had to learn themselves and had to start somewheres.. people who actually care enough that are trying to learn the proper way should be helped and I applaude anyone who takes the time out of their busy life's to help others .. Thank you for your informative videos and teaching others the safest and proper ways of the trade.. great job Ladies and Gentlemen 🤗
Thanks dude. Walked out of the shop 10 years ago. Didn't think I'd ever look back. Bout to come out of retirement and you probably just saved my legs and at least one other guinea pig
HAHAHA happy to hear we saved the leg and a guinea pig lol. Get back on that horse and keep riding my friend. I hope the channel can help you out as you do so. And thank you for the kind words and support!! 🤘🙏
I just got my first setup, I’m practicing on practice skin and fruits for a while before I go under an apprenticeship. This is very helpful! Even if I won’t be tattooing on people for a while, I can apply it to the practice skin so when I do get to that point I can do it and not botch my first client!
What up bro, I am a complete novice, just got a little beginners kit and got on you tube to find some knowledge and you got to the only channel(for me at least) that I thought I could actually watch, and that I thought would actually be able to help me, I'm not tryna be a professional or make any money, just love tattoos and am gonna see if I can actually do it, thanks for excellently made, informative, encouraging and very helpful videos. Good looking out bro.
No problem Jones. I wish you best of luck my friend and if you need more help feel free to check out some other vids on the channel that go into more detail about what we went over in this video. And Keep Rocking!! 🤘🤘🤘
This video was so helpful... Ive been searching for something like this for a while now, really one of the best most helpful videos on here thanks man.
This is the most informative video I've found on my journey to learn. Thank you so much! I respect the profession of tattooing but I just like dabbling in new skills and this gave me the confidence to keep going. I'm not sure why this information is under lock and key. It's easier to learn 10 languages 😅 I'm wondering what are the chances you could do a similar style video but with a rotary pen? Most videos are just showing it in use with the assumption you already know how to use it. There's no beginner video. Or even a video explaining how tattooing varies with a rotary pen vs traditional machine and I could figure out what to adjust from there! Either way, thanks again for sharing!
Your right DD the information its self will not make anyone a good tattooist. It's the ones who take that information and really put the time and effort into crafting their skills. For that reason I dont know why these secrets are kept "hidden" there are no secrets really. Its just trial and error practice makes perfect. In this video I was using a rotary pen, I was using the Cheyenne Hawk pen with a wireless battery pack. I'm happy to hear these videos are helping you out DD I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel!! Keep on Rocking!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank goodness these are the first videos I came across. I feel like the other people talk a lot to hide that they’re really not telling you anything important… maybe they just like hearing themselves talk.
Just purchased my first tattoo gun kit, kinda on a whim but I've always loved the idea of it and have a friend or two that made a comfortable living doing tattoos. Looking forward to practicing on myself! Lol thank you for the awesome video.
Congrats on the new equipment and im happy to hear your going to be practicing on yourself before others. But If I could I would suggest also practicing on some fruit or fake skin for a little while in order to get comfortable with machine and equipment. And I wish you the best of luck my friend!! 🤘🤘
i'm so so thankful for this video. i'm 17 and my whole dream is to be a tattoo artist. my family always nags on me about wasting my time and art ability on this path but it's truly what i wanna do. i don't honestly have the money for an apprenticeship and probably won't until i'm like 24-25, but i'm getting a tattoo machine in order to practice (not on other people or myself of course, just on fake skin and fruit and shit like that.) i have lots of people discouraging me from learning without an apprenticeship, but it would be impossible for me to start my career path for another five or six years unless i go for it like this. you seem to be the most educated (DEFINITELY) out of all the research/informative videos i've found and i really appreciate you for that. thank you!
That is awesome to hear max that at 17 you know what you want to do, and sound passionate about pursuing that dream!! 👍👍👍 Sounds liike you have a plan max and as long as you stick with it stay focused stay motivated yet be patient then you got this!! If you want something bad enough Max you will find a way. Now at this point you are 17 legally not an adult so I dont want to tell you do anything other then what your parents want you to do, so keep that in mind. However I dont want you to loose that drive so.... with all that said, CHASE YOUR DREAMS NOW MAX!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Ive watched a lot of videos on beginners and i think this was about the most informative so far and good job on the personality bonus points for not wasting time if you dig hip hop i make some fire music gimme a holler keep up the shniz
Thanks Michael! I really appreciate that man👍 . It can be hard to show people how to tattoo but thats my goal. I hope you enjoy the channel and let me know if you have any questions!
I find these videos so helpfull since I'm a self learner, I mean, I know very good to draw but I was pushed back everytime tattooing because of the techniques, you're calm and explain step by step like the voltage thing, that just helped me so much, thank you a lot, you got yourself a new subscriber! \m/
Awesome to hear FULJER!! Glad you enjoyed the video and that it came across well. I appreciate the support and I hope you enjoy the videos. I have added a link to my how to tattoo playlist: ruclips.net/p/PL9j65lZRaK377sEZ_ncpAcqym24sHMxlS
I’ve been in the tattoo game for almost a year now {in April) & your RUclips videos helped alotttt. I just order a new tattoo kit. Watching your videos my tatts has progressed so much from when I started & I can see it in my tattoo work. Lines more straight & clean, hands steady, I could be better at shading but I’m getting there😌 thank you so much on the tips.
My son asked me to tattoo him after he saw my diy fixing old tattoo after hours of listening & seeing your awesome videos 🤟🏼☺️ I guess I nailed it!!! 🙋🏼♀️ Thanks 🙏🏼 for your perfect advices & showing
Congrats on getting back into tattooing!!🤘🤘 And i'm happy to hear the channel is helping you out cause im sure after 20 years a lot has definitely changed. Thanks again Scott and best of luck to you brother!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Guy you are AWESOME! Your videos are easy to follow and understand; Free from pretence, arrogance and exclusion. You're a brilliant artist and have an outstanding gift for teaching/ sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience. Honestly, Can't THANK YOU enough! 💙💕💜💚😁💛BIG LOVE & MASS APPRECIATION from Bellè -Australia xXx
I’m an aspiring tattoo artist and your videos have been giving me a lot of knowledge about the process of tattooing ! What would be some good recommendations on tattoo machines?
I have a video on the CNC Q2 and why I bought it. I’m still currently using that machine in an effort to let you guys know how it works in the long run how it performs everything like that. So far I’m really happy with the machine I haven’t used my Chyanne since getting this machine. So I guess I could recommend that machine. Thanks again for watching and I appreciate your support!!🤘🤘
It's kinda nice seeing someone recommend even tattooing yourself for practice. I'm no tattoo artist but I've been tattooing my own skin and this video was so easy to understand where I could be making improvements and explaining the feel of finding the right voltage and needle depth
This is the most informative video that I've found so far. Thank you so much for your time! For basic line work, which needle brand do you turn to? And which brand of ink do you use?
Glad it was helpful Jessica! My favorite needles are Kwadron needles I just love how consistent they are. Keep in mind they dont have a true membrane so you will have to be a bit more cautions when using them. I use eternal and fantasia for color. I use Dynamic for lining and black and gray work. Thanks for watching appreciate the support!! 🤘🤘
Just picked up a Dragonhawk Must tour and a couple of fake skins to practice on. Gonna practice on myself as soon as I get a feel for it just simple line work and work my way into shading.
Man, great video! Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge… I have no plans to tattoo, but was just curious about the process - this is the best I've seen.
NO problem Vaughn my pleasure!! 👍 And I'm happy to hear that you wanted to learn more about the process even tho you don't want to do it yourself. I think it's really cool that people even outside of performing tattoos get a better understanding of what is involved and what Ink Masters doesn't show you. So thank you again Vaughn for watching and supporting what we're doing here on the channel!🤘
I just made the decision to become an inker! I'm really excited to enter into the world of permanent art,and service to a very special clientele. I'm buying my kit in two weeks and I begin fruit practice, then my own legs LOL 😂. I'm learning about stencils and use of the light box for size and composition. This is a great video 👍 and I am thankful for your time in teaching me how to do it ☺️ I'm eure to have questions later. Happy Sunday!
Thats awesome to hear your going to take the leap into the tattooing field, as its an amazing process and a crazy journey. I think your doing things right though since you are going to be practicing on fruit then you self as thats a smart way to practice and learn. I wish you the best of luck as you start this journey. And thank you for the support as its much appreciated!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you for all the tips and tricks. All my life I have truly been fascinated with art and obviously into my adulthood I’ve grown very fond of tattooing. Having many myself now, I’m hoping to learn both how to draw and tattoo. I never had the confidence to try and learn and often times I’ve given up because of terrible anything I drew looked. But at 27 it’s never too late to try anything. I’ve ordered a relatively inexpensive starter kit to practice on pig skin w and am looking at buying a much nicer far superior gun next month. So far I’ve gotten plenty of friends willing to let me practice on them, but for the next 6 months I just really want to focus on mastering line work as much as one can and drawing very basic objects. I want to ultimately do American traditional w/ my own French spin on it and let that be my signature style, but for now this is what I need to understand the basics.
Man!!, Thank you, I learned more in 5 minutes with you than I have in the last 20 as I am trying to learn to tattoo myself and then wherever that takes me. Thank you again!
That's awesome. 👍 Take your time no rush start by practicing on other things first. I wish you the best of luck on your journey! Thanks for watching! 🤘
I am a beginner tattoo artist and have only been doing work on myself and a few other people and the work has been really good. Watching your videos have helped me out alot and would like to be able to video chat with you one day and you teach me step by step as i am doing it.
Glad to hear the videos are helping you out. I will have to apologize as much as I would like to help you out one on one, I just don't have the free time I hope you can understand. However I will continue to make videos as time goes on and will be going into more details on how to tattoo and more general tattoo information. If you have a suggestion for a video or something you would like to see more of please let me know. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
OH FUCK yeah Brother!!! SOOO happy I could help!! You make sure your hooking our brothers and sisters up with some good work!!! And Keep on ROCKING!! 🤘🤘🤘 But on the real though be safe with what your doing, be clean, careful and respect the craft👍👍
I’m 17 and really want to be a tattoo artist,, I’m gonna search for an apprenticeship once I leave school,, but I practice on fake skin and this video is so helpful!! It’s nice to learn new things
this was a really great video! i really appreciate you not being a douchebag and gatekeeping information. im 17, and looking to get an apprenticeship when im 18, but i want to help my chances by actually practicing on fake skin and this really helped me a lot!
No problem always happy to help see others achieve their goals👍👍 Sounds like you are doing things right by taking the time and practicing on fake skin. Keep at it my friend you got this🤘🤘
I'm not sure what there is to hate about what your doing here! Anyone that bogards information is just worried that others will surpass them with the information. You see it all the time in any profession. I think your doing a great thing here!
Thank you Jose much appreciated brother!! 👍👍 And I agree with you 100% its in every profession. Thanks for the continued support I appreciate you man!! 🤘🤘

I have a question. When you are shading are you lifting the needles away from the skin like a brushing motion or is it more like scribing. Thank you
I mean scrubbing
Is there a void on shooting water colors. Im new. Thanks for teaching.
@@hobhobgood3960 I just havent messed with tattooing water colors. I may give that a try and if/when I do I will certainly document it and share my experiences.
What size needle did u use to outline the flower ??
This was really helpful. I appreciate it!
Thank you for the tip! Super helpful!
kind of like writing left handed
None of the guys I know paid for their apprenticeships with money. We all just worked as the shops helper while learning.
But most importantly Im trying to help those who are out there trying
to make this happen.

@@ArtSomething thank you!
Art-Something why do they frown apon this?
Guaca 786 it’s sorta taboo to like teach this stuff through RUclips. It’s tradition to learn in a shop through apprenticeships and fuck ups.
@@guaca7869 Genesis is right. Its tradition to get an apprenticeship and learn that way. And I must say that an apprenticeship is most often the best way to learn to tattoo. But there are not enough tattoo shops to support all those who want to learn the craft.
Art-Something preach man. We appreciate you!
I started tattooing myself 4 years ago, to stop drinking, doing drugs, cutting, and to redirect my eating disorder. Yet I hadnt watched a video or "got advice". Until now. And boy am I glad this is the video I chose to watch first.
I’m rly proud of u

How rough was it in the beginning?
A guy that knows what he is talking about, gives good advice and doesn't have an overwhelming personality. I feel your videos are going to be real helpful! :)
Thank you Ashley!!! Really appreciate that!! 👍 And I hope the videos are helpful for you and best of luck to you Ashley , keep Rocking!! 🤘🤘🤘
a lot of the advice that i’ve been getting is usually “you can’t mess up!!!” “you have to do so much work to be an artist” “it’s super hard” but the thing is, the more people tell me that i’m probably gonna mess up makes me think i’m going to mess up so i really appreciate you making this video and showing that anyone can do this with the right mindset and practice.
I've been trying to learn how to tattoo before I do an apprenticeship (I have very bad anxiety) and this video you made really helped me with the few issues I was having. Thank you for spreading your knowledge, a lot of people who try to explain tattooing make me super confused
I'm happy to help Red!! And im glad the videos are helping you out. I hope you keep at it and keep Rocking!!! 🤘🤘
Sounds like you have a passion for it I wish you the very best Dean in your journey and thank you so much for watching we really appreciate it🤘🤘
Side-note the fact you take the time to read your comments speaks VOLUMES of your teaching attributes and RUclips career. People respect that.
I’m 14 and I really wanna be a tattoo artist when I grow up! This helped me understand the process better! Thank you 🖤

i’m learning and i’m 15, it’s just i’m scared to try it on real skin...
That’s great! I have a 15 year old sister and I just bought her her first tattoo kit
I'm so excited:)
Currently 15 and working on my knowledge, art skills and different art styles.

I'm a traditional artist but I have so much appreciation for tattoos as an art form. This is super informative ♡
I agree I love tattoos as an art form. It's so different and that's what makes it fun and exciting everyday! 🤘🤘
Art-Something thanks man it was cool to get a reply.

I have an apprenticeship at a local shop under 3 amazing artist. I also buy or at least read every book I can and watch whatever I can. I believe that knowledge is power and the more knowledgeable a person is and with different sources of knowledge or inspirations only leads to a better artist no matter their field.

Seriously good pointers here... I’m not looking to be the best artist -hell even an artist for that matter- but to just add more ink to my own body.

Sounds liike you have a plan max and as long as you stick with it stay focused stay motivated yet be patient then you got this!!

Well thank you very much "just me"!!!👍 I like to think I am as well so again thank you 😁🤘
Its because he is a marine lol
You’re the nicest tattoo artist I’ve ever seen in my life.
Thats awesome Duno and congrats on the equipment!! 👍👍 Sounds like you have a game plan and are on the right path!! 🤘🤘
When you started the shading part, at what voltz did you put for the shading? Was it at lower voltz?
I want to ultimately do American traditional w/ my own French spin on it and let that be my signature style, but for now this is what I need to understand the basics.
i'm thinking of getting a kit tomorrow, this video just came up in my suggestions, love it !!
That's awesome to hear! 👍 And thank you for watching subscribing and supporting the channel it's much appreciated!! 🤘🤘
Man!!, Thank you, I learned more in 5 minutes with you than I have in the last 20 as I am trying to learn to tattoo myself and then wherever that takes me. Thank you again!
Ugh I wanna tat my own thigh I can’t wait to buy my stuff 🥺
This really helped out with my barracks tats🤘🏿
