- While at Dubai Airshow 2021 I visited the Boeing 777X. This is the first time Boeing has allowed visitors to get onboard the airplane! Let’s find out what the inside of the 777X is like?
It is an experimental airplane, with no fancy interiors but a lot of workstations, terminals and water barrel tanks. I spoke with Boeing’s test engineers, pilots and commercial staff on the 777X testing and certification program. Check out the cockpit, folding wingtip, engine and test instruments inside the aircraft. Boeing expects the B777X to complete certification in 2023.
Enjoy the flying display of the B777X at the Dubai Airshow.
I have to admit, as an A350 lover, the B777X is very unique and (probably) the most beautiful plane Boeing ever made, after the Boeing 747-8!
I'm not one of those people that picks a side, both Boeing amd Airbus have been producing incredible planes in recent years. I flew on a Singapore Airlines A350 from Amsterdam and it was a really nice 12 and a half hour experience. Also flew long haul on the 787, the A380, and the 747-8 in recent years prior to the pandemic-all excellent planes.
Dude the 777x is a whole different level. Such a beautiful plane!
Just wait till a350-1000 ulr
@@AviatorsOfRBLX agree, more premium than the a350 i think i mean it’s more costly
@@AviatorsOfRBLX nah a350 is 10 times more beautyfull can admit that
I am from Malaysia. I am part of the team that develop the composites wing and empennage back in 2016 and 2017. This make us very proud of ourselves.
Nice!
Hi!,im Malaysian too but it is rare to see any Malaysian here...
Malaysia Boleh🇲🇾💥💥💪👍
I'm from Malaysia. Props to you bro.
Good work, proud of you guys! From the USA 🇺🇸
Amazing looking aircraft, glad the 777 lives on... Let's hope Boeing hasn't kept any secrets around upgraded "safety" devices on this one 🙏
If they do it again, then the company would close
Shut up
@@genecreamers5233 sensitives like you are ruining the fun :(
I agree , hope the safety of the passengers is there number one priority!
Sorry bud, they’re probably is! 😁🙁
The fact that humans built this is an achievement in itself. The amount of engineering that went into making this beautiful beast blows my mind.
If you want to see engineering take a look at some of the new Gulfstream and Bombardier private jets which fly significantly faster, higher, equal to or even farther with more automation then any current commercial jet. Folding wingtips will be the only way passengers will be able to tell they are on one of these versus a current of even original 777-300 or 300er. Significantly higher cabin altitude compared to a350 and 787 that flies slower then both to gain maximum efficiency. Shame efficiency always rules the day and it is a shame that planes in the 60's and 70's such as the 707 flew faster then planes like this. Couldn't they have at least bumped the cruse speed up to .91?
@@mikescallon4288 people don’t need to burn billions of extra gallons to arrive 7 minutes faster to their banal activities at the destination
@@777jones 😂😂😂
@@777jones That's funny and true, besides most of us plebs are gonna lose all that time with one toilet stop, customs wait and eh baggage gonna be here soon right.
I'm sure aliens helped behind the curtain
They were flying right over my house quite often when they had first started testing the 777X.
My Dad was an Electrician on the 777 when they first started the 777 program many years ago, so the 777 has always been my favorite since I was just a little kid
As a retired engineer on the 777, love this new plane. Hope management stop their bean counting and let smart engineering take over again.
Yea they aren't, the bean counting is getting worst. Most management doesn't know what a plane is.
It's like we used to say McDonald Douglas bought Boeing with Boeing's money.
I get your point and agree. I'm glad to see the advancements of aviation. It's awesome
@@CrazyForCooCooPuffs Not anymore though
It all started when McDonnell Douglas executives were pretty much seamlessly transitioned into Boeing upper management through the merger. That was the final nail in the coffin for the engineer driven version of Boeing that the world knew and loved for so many decades. McDonnell Douglas management practices were exactly the same sort of penny pinching, cost cutting, bean counting strategies that almost everyone agrees is ruining Boeing's reputation.
The 777 is one of the MOST GORGEOUS aircrafts Boeing ever constructed!

777 is such a massive plane these maneuvers are incredible
Those big engines make it look like a narrow body when it is flying. Beautifully proportioned aircraft
The 777X is massive! The GE9X engines are massive, everything is huge, great video Sam. 👍
i wonder what the startup will sound like considering the impressive noise the ge90-115b makes

But Ge90 was GOAT.
Can’t wait to feel and onboard this brand new aircraft from Boeing…Luv 😍😍😍😍
Can we just talk about how beautiful this plane is🤩🔥🔥
finally! we get to see the 777X with its folding winglet. It is very agile aircraft, the way it turned and climbed, amazing. Looking forward to pushback some 777X in the future.
It looks very agile in display mode because it has a light fuel load, it won't perform like that with a full load of passengers and fuel, jet liners are not meant to do aerobatics.
@@carlszymanski5812 of course it will not do those maneuvers when fully loaded with pax

I wish air shows in the US did more with commercial air planes. The aerobatics they can pull off is an incredible sight to see.
Look at the ground clearance on that machine. You need to take one off-roading some time, Sam.
I am an Airbus fan but look at her what a beauty 😃❤️
Ladies and gentlemen after the planes many struggles and doubts it has made it and one day we will see this big beautiful bird flying all over the world
I live a mile from RSW in Florida and this plane has been here for a few weeks now, it’s very impressive
Damn, those engines have a very large bypass duct and the wings also flex so beautifully❣️
That is crazy take off at 9:20, that is scary vertical for a commercial aircraft, just WOW.
I did some engine detail for RR engines like the Trent, and this is just fantastic, so incredible that we now only need two turbines, amazing.
Easy with a empty load, try it with full load.
Can’t wait to experience this flight from US to Dubai.
the inflight pax experience will depend more on the airline than the OEM
I work at an airport where this plane was at for about a month. Very awesome and amazingly quiet aircraft.
I'm glad you mentioned "amazingly quiet aircraft" because nobody mentioned it. I hope you're right and that it is as quiet as the 787 and the 350 because that would make the 777X just perfect!
Nicely done, Sam! Spent some time in this plane prior to first flight and the rest working their way through the factory. Quite a beautiful machine and so glad to see the demo.
The Boeing 777 series is one of the most beautiful flying machines ever made - & the Boeing 777x is currently the flagship of the line.
Looking at this machine makes me proud of the incredible feats of engineering we as a human race have achieved!
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome the new queen of the skies!
It is still not flying mate. 2to 3 years
The new Queen of the skies🤣😃, you deluded
The queen of the skies is still the 747 Boys don't get exited (only the cargo ones count)
The title "Queen of the Skies" belong to the 747. So maybe the "King of the Skies" for the 777X?
Me as a airbus fan, i can say this is a masterpiece!,
i hope i can bord this plane one day!
Yeah I hope you bord it
I can't wait to bord it too
my gut feeling still with the A350
Still prefer the A350
Your comment is bording me!
A year ago I watched a documentary on RUclips about the design of the original 777 was really cool! The effort and passion that went into that design was amazing. I hope the x continues the legacy.
This aircraft is so massive
It's the longest commercial aircraft in the world
Born after commercial aviation doctrine, from hub to hub transit, pick up another passenger, to direct intercontinental flight when planes depart with available passenger at 1 airport
@Dr. Otto Octavius 😂😂 no seriously what's your real name
It's amazing to see my buddy Shaun Newton being interviewed at 3.18 or so. He has a large part in the engineering of this aircraft and he also coached my kid in varsity wrestling in high school all 4 years, leading him twice to state. Glad you got to meet Shaun.
I've only once managed to see a 777-200 outside of Dulles. THAT was huge. I hope I get to see this one...
ive only been on the 787 9 once but it looked huge to me. can only imagine how massive this beast is
The game-changer, a marvel of aviation with the most advanced winglets and massive GenX engines has arrived to serve the aviation industry for years to come. Excellent work by hard-working men & women at Boeing from technicians all the way to higher management! 👍✈️
It’s actually a GE9X. Much larger than the GENX

It just looks so classy and beautiful. The best aeroplane manufacturers 'BOEING' . Who all agrees with it?
Such a Beautiful Aircraft!
Lovely to see it in flight Sam thanks for taking the time to show us all. And a lovely explanation from the pilot. Cant help but wonder though whether it was a good thing to bring it to Dubai in that almost an experimental position. Perhaps a small part with seats say business product may have helped at the show, to show just how good it possibly is, and could be. My own feeling with airbus netting 500 planes, the 2023 ready to airlines, seems a little too distant
the 777x looks amazing 👌
Beautiful airplane. Can't wait to see the interior configurations for first class, business, coach, and custom requests. I bet it's going to be impressive.
One thing that bothered me was that I've gotten so used to seeing people wearing face masks that it took me a while to notice.
The folding wingtips are a concession towards tarmac and gate spots around the world which are not designed for the wider wing span. Not as much compared to carrier aircraft, just a little bit, but just enough.
And those massive engines with those bypass ducts, quite a sight.
I bemoaned the loss of traditional cockpit instrumentation, but I know this is very versatile. I would love to fly one of these, especially with a HUD, but I hope they have some analog backups just in case the electronic displays malfunction (as I've seen on military aircraft).
You work hard to make all of humanity happy. The whole world thanks you and respects you 🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿
Wow I didn't expect this to appear I like how the winglets fold up very creative! I also like how the cabin is enormous. Enormous engine will be definitely be a good competitor against other Boeing and Airbus models. Good job Boeing!
It isn’t really a winglet which is intended to increase efficiency by reducing drag due to a more laminar flow.. It is a folding wingtip. And it isn’t really a feature that is adding value.. But it is needed… You didn’t mention the wingspan of this aircraft is so massive it needs to fold the wingtips during taxi and also to fit in the gates that have a defined size.. Otherwise you would need special gates to fit this one.. A380 kinda thing
@@johensvilleIt’s called
A raked wing tip. The folding tip is just to make room at the gate. It’s a pretty dinky folding tip compared to the original folding wing on the -100.
Nice video
It’s a beauty. Simply majestic. She is simply gorgeous. Super excited.
Thanks for sharing 👌👌👌

I as an a380 lover must say this plane is very unique and beautiful, Well done boeing
Its got a much nicer cockpit than the original. The brown was depressing!
Lol seriously, that brown was truly awful.
I always loved the airbus a380 but after the most emotional end of a380 now i like the 777x but a380 will stay in our hearts forever.
A380 was a masterpiece of engineering but 777x is also cool
All Boeings now qualify as experimental.
And this is true ! Best comment under this video. I don’t think she will be delivered on time to her customers
Great segment Sam. Thanks!
I'm more an Airbus A380 fan . I still hope there is the future for an A380

Got to ride one of these from Washington DC, NONSTOP... across the north to Beijing..
Was a lovely flight..
It’s interesting that doors 3 and 4 are closer on the 777X.
The only aircraft that stoodout at the Dubai airshow is the 777x..super majestic.
A350 is great but this? This "thing" is different. This thing is beautiful. As an Airbus fanboy, this giant amazed me. I don't know how to describe what I'm feeling right now, all I can say is that the Boeing 777X just like it's predecessor - the Boeing 777-300ER is a magnificent piece of technology.
Yeahh, but it’s a Boeing. I'd rather stay alive
@@Mr.SpocksBrain if youre talking about the 737 max aerodynamic and technology problems then did you spot any "weird" changes on the 777x except its folding wing tips?
@@burnedbacon3989 I'm just simply talking about trust in an aircraft company that has knowingly endangered lives. I will never set foot on a Boeing aircraft again, nor will any of my colleagues, and I have worked on and with aircraft of all types for decades

So happy to see this! This will be the workhorse of international flights when travel restrictions open up.
What a beauty! Such power and so sublimely-proportioned!
It's going to work almost perfectly with a business perspective when it's launched: long haul airlines will have been scrambling for 3 years to get whatever money they can to minimize debt, and just as people start to come back to flying long haul regularly, airlines are going to have the most efficient way to transport people and make even more profit, helping to speed up the recovery process
What a beautiful aircraft 😍
Btw what do yall think of my interior?
Mantap sam so amaizing.... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you. One question: will 777 pilots require a specific type rating for the X? Also worth mentioning that the X has a lot more carbon composites in the build: wings, fuselage, like the 787
Shooting for same type rating. New composites are in the wing, not the fuselage. Fuselage is still metal.
@@fight2flyphoto Thanks .. pity they couldn't spice up the front end / nose / transition from the fuselage from legacy 777 design to say something with a bit more 'style' carbon would have worked a treat there! Lastly, can we call the folding wing tips the winglets? not quite say compared to the A350, or 737 Max, its just the tips that blend upwards as opposed to spatially separate surfaces of a winglet.
@@brucegillespie7214 I'm sure you could guess that manufacturing a composite fuselage is significantly more difficult than a wing, hence they kept the aluminum structure there. Wing also gives you greater bang for your buck in terms of increasing efficiency and all that goodness.
No, can't quite call them winglets since they're horizontal in flight and the folding is for space saving on the ground, vs. aerodynamic for in flight. Would you call the folding wing of an F/A-18 a winglet? ;-) The newer wide body aircraft (747-8, 787, 777 family) feature a raked wingtip design to produce the same reduction in induced drag.
I think after the previous boeing debacles, training will be required just to be sure of no surprises
