Such an incredible behind-the-scenes video this. The scale of just getting an A380 ready is insane! The number of engineers and plane parts needed is mind-blowing.
Former Boeing here... have been in 747 from pile of parts to final cert. Always amazing to see how big it is with no interior panels, carpets, or seats. During construction, the elevated catwalks form perfect contours of fuselage. There is maybe 1 inch clearance. Workers can move about without fear of falling through the cracks. Never been inside an A380 yet, but hope to before they are all retired.
It's Amazing to see Emirates Engineering could dismantle the entire Aircraft in such details and get it back to original. This requires some serious skills and self confidence. Hats off to the entire team 👍
Thank you for showing the operation and people who keep the public flying safely. Having worked in aviation maintenance I enjoy it when people like you show all the hard work that goes into the job (though most of us don’t consider it work. We love it to much for it to be work.) Next time please show the looks on the workers faces when the airplane goes for its post maintenance test flight and talk to them as the airplane gets ready to take off. I know I have stayed at work after my shift to watch a few airplanes or helicopters go for the test flight. It’s the joy of working in aviation. Also my friends and family will tell you it’s one of the only times I truly smile.
I flew Emirates A380 back from Dubai and it was a amazing experience. The aircraft is so impressive!!! Hopefully, Emirates can keep it going through the pandemic.
Wow, thanks for the fantastic inside view of the total refurbishment of an A380, absolutely incredible! And Sam I think your recognition to the engineers and other personnel behind the scene is a great call out. Really enjoyed the vid, and the 777-300ER looked smashing. 👌👌

Thank you, Sam. That was most interesting! Only you can provide us with such a detailed tour of the work that takes place. You are a trusted aviation expert, and this is proof of that! Thank you Emirates for allowing Sam to show us the hard work that your crews do to make sure the planes are safe and reliable for many more years!
You are one lucky fella Sam, getting an inside look at the maintenance processes on the magnificent A-380 is an amazing experience.... thank you for posting mate.
Thank you Sam for this video. It certainly is a renewed fascination with what goes behind the seats, panels, A/C, engine. Thanks again for producing this video.
Sam, you’ve really outdone yourself! I remember congratulating you on the first A380 flight, and you were on it. Now look at how you present to the world the intricacies of bringing the A380 back to life. This is a fascinating project overview, literally from the top of the tail to the bottom of the tires. The closest I’ll ever get to A380 is 1000 feet while passing it on the tracks. Thank you for your outstanding work!
Just bloody amazing video Sam thank you for a video that no one else will ever have , just can't believe the work that goes into keeping the airplane working , clean and safe envirornment for the Passengers and crew!!! Wow!!!
Had a remarkable experience in this the A380 in 2018 from Dubai to Manchester, I was fortunate enough to fly in the business class. The experience is so surreal. Furthermore, your content is lit and one that I look forward to watching. Well done and thanks to the #Emirates for taking us all behind the scene.

I think this is absolutely freaking huge and awesome how they can get this beast of a plane in the air! Absolutely 💯 think it is very special that they don't loose any parts!
Thanks Sam another great aviation video on Emirates this time. There is a lot of maintenance that goes into these awesome aircraft to keep them top shape and one of the world aviation leaders.
Great documentary Sam ! I'm a huge fan of the A380 airplanes and your documentary show us many "secrets" of this wonderful plane. Thank you Sam and thank you to all engineers and technician who contribute to our security.
Beautiful, insightful & reassuring. I never realised airlines quite literally stripped these birds right down to their bare backsides and then put 'em all back together again. That's dedication to maintenance & safety right there.
Reminds me of visiting my dad’s workplace in United Airlines maintenance in Oakland, California when they did service overhauling on the 747 jumbo jets. Excellent video report, Sam!
Well done Sam for acknowledging the hard work and diligence by the Emirates engineers and technicians that keep us safe! We can see it was very heartfelt!
The best video on the A380 - thanks so much Sam!!!! I am amazed!! Cathay Pacific used to be my favourite airline - naturally for me as I am from Hong Kong - but its rapid fall to disgrace recently has left me wonder what I should fly in the future. I had Singapore and Thai as my top choices, and now, I am glad the Emirates will be the 3rd!! They have really impressed me!! The more important question is how Emirates is able to make the A380 work in their routes when so many operators have called a day? Yes, Emirates have all the expertise to maintain this giant aircraft. I believe it is the Emirates marketing prowes ,smart planning and extensive connecting viability are key to why they can pack every plane even during Covid period
Economies of scale also is one of the major factor Emirates is winning with the a380. Simply being the largest operator of the a380 puts them at an advantage over all the other airlines that owned only a fraction of the enormous a380 fleet they own.

I learned so much from this video. Emirates has invested so much in the A380 maintenance facilities and training I can't imagine them eliminating this plane from the fleet.
The advantage of the A 380 is the huge internal space - which enables luxury cabins and a big business class, without reducing the economy seats too much. Smaller Aircraft like the 777 could carry also 550 people, but they can't offer roomy 1st class cabins and offer 550 seats at the same time.
Sam, we always wondered how they maintained the aeroplanes and still be profitable. It’s the attention to details and meticulous care that do the job. Thank you for sharing this. It certainly will make flying feel safer the us.
