Jared, I don't know if you'll ever actually see this buried in the sea of comments, but just have to mention: I'm still playing through that Marshall Valvestate VS100 I bought off you in H.S. 🤣 Sending all my love brotha!
Hey brother thats wicked cool,FKN JJ,so good,i play a little bit like both these guys, chek out a track i did in Woodstock, its called Ghostdance,i think your gonna like it,,,kinda Blackmore, but still wicked cool, send me some of your stuff,i would so love 2 hear it man,CHEERS...
As a guitar player, I hate the fact that people think a "jam session" is an ego battle. I never really understood that. Maybe it's because people watched the movie Crossroads to many times. That is total BS!! When you get two players like these two guys, there is NO-Repeat ZERO ego! It's all about the music!! It was already written but I just have to write it again-On this jam-We All Won!!
Thanks for posting! Instead of titling it a guitar battle, this was more like watching two fantastic musicians having a great conversation with their instruments! Must’ve been a blast to watch in person….and LOUD! ✌🏻
I've made it through 8 minutes of this video and I wanna RUN AND GRAB MY LES PAUL. BESS thing I've watched on youtube in AGES... This is so PURE.. AMP - CABLE - AMP - HOLD MY BEER!!!
@UCSAbgWXe95yVXYkq3endMlQ would have liked to see Eric Gales and Gar Clarke Jr. up there also But now i'm feeling a bit needy... LOL CRAZY Video. no ego no fancy 4CM method rig with midi switching and 20 guitars and 4 heads in a wet dry wet configuration with the deathstar style wiring no "I'm a STAR vibe, just simply playing. Yocouldld see the joy in them fellas eyes. RUN WHAT YUH BRUNG kinda style... If you think about it, you can't really call yourself a guitar player unless you could do what those fellas just did (in my opinion) Gotta brush up on my improv skills. NUFF RESPEK...🤛🤜
I don't know anything about guitars but that moment where Joe's was so smooth it sounded almost like a violin or string instrument... I didn't even know such things were possible on guitars
If I was going head-to-head with Joe, I would be playing my gold top with p90s, too. somehow the tone wizard still came out on top. kudos to Nichols, he held his own.
The Viper getting destroyed is heartbreaking. I’m from NYC and was once inside CBGB as part of a neighborhood walking tour. Never got to experience a live show there. Did anyone try to get the Viper declared as an LA and/or National Historic Site? That would be the only way to save the place. I think they tried and failed with CBGB, but it’s always worth a shot. They should apply with all the music, comedy clubs, restaurants, and bars that have legit historic significance on Sunset Strip and in the area. I’m so glad JJN invited Joe to play there with him. That was extremely gracious. So much Blues Power on that small stage!! Love it!
Why do they always have to label it "guitar battle" when two stellar players are having fun jamming? "Guitar alchemy" or "guitar collaboration" would be a better description. Music isn't an olympic sport. Great jam.
That's RUclips titles for ya. We know of course it's not really a battle, as many people have pointed out. And we also know whole heartedly they don't look at it that way. It's a gift for sure, and these two are great friends.
Goddamn! Ever since the lion got courage he’s been playing his ass off since he left oz! I didn’t even know he was a musician. Dorthy never mentioned that.
JJN had a great sound, but you couldn't hear him. JB had a great sound because he had overdrive, but it wasn't as distorted as JJN's. All in all, two guitar monsters to be sure. Thinking about doing a lesson thing on Artist Works with JJN. I'm researching his playing now, any suggestions for songs ? ? Next, I check his rig rundown.
Super cool. I'm guessing Joe didn't know he was playing the first song by the look on his face and how he was looking at JJN and the bass players fretboard, but he pulled it off. A real pro.
Every time I watch somebody like Jered or Trucks play, I wish I'd never picked up a guitar pick when I first began playing. It definitely has a different tone when using the digits, and it seems a pretty quick transition from the strings can be made. Plus it just looks cool. Lol. I didn't comment on Joe because he and his guitars speak for themselves. . Love Peace and Chicken Grease.
This sounds like me and all the boys on Tuesday nights. LOL at least we get free drinks and people like to take vids of us. We like to just shred Blues
Joe, as we all know is a legend and Jared...well, this guy is well on his way ...what a phenomenal player....if you are sharing a stage with Joe, I think you pretty much made it!!! :)
JJN has such a great voice and is such a great songwriter too, in addition to being such a fantastic guitar player. …and of course, Joe Bonamassa is a beast.
I think if you let Joe do his thing and you do yours he’d be pretty cool to be in a band with. Glen Hughes and his jumping around and in front Joe I don’t think he was digging it in Black Country but hopefully they get bugs worked out. Hell add Jarrod. Be a great semi-super group.
JJN has such a unique voice on the guitar without resorting to overly technical stuff, or advanced theory moves. He's meat and potatoes, but like meat and potatoes that blow your mind that it could be that good. Joe to me is a lot more sterile and I feel like I can pick out where he is lifting his licks from.
I thought using genetic engineering to clone humans was immoral? Who created this creature hybrid between Ted Nugent/ Eric Clapton & Thunder god. Thor?
Déjà cette expression de battle ça veut rien dire, sinon sur le coup bonamassa passe pour un monteur de gammes un peu froid, comparé à l autre qui sonne grave
Black out! as if. This is the real conviction of a real guitarist! Play hat jam session, and let the Gods be cheerful! We must allllll go into the sun!

How cool is that!
Hoping for some reason he signed it somewhere
Valvestates are the most underrated amp ever.

Your so right. These 2 guys are all about the music.

My 2 favorite modern-day guitarists! What fun. I bet being there in the room was epic! Thanks for sharing. God bless and rock (blues) on 🎸😎👍
Damn RIght! These two are absolutly fantastic, love listening to them. I met JJN a couple months ago in WYO, great show and great guy to hang with.
Modern day greats!!! Absolutely amazing!!!

Yes!
Such a wonderful mastery movement of two extremely good musicians like Jared and Joe.
Great music thanks.
Called volume swells. He turns the guitar down, then hits a note, then slowly(or fast)turns up the volume on each note to sound like that.
I don't know anything about guitars but that moment where Joe's was so smooth it sounded almost like a violin or string instrument... I didn't even know such things were possible on guitars
Check out Eric Johnson, especially the Tones and Ah Via Musicom albums. Joe has cited him as a big influence
Damn that was really good. I knew this Nichols dude brought it the first time I ever heard him. Bring Joe in and it's pretty epic!
I NEVER knew this happened! And across from where I lived in my 20’s
If I was going head-to-head with Joe, I would be playing my gold top with p90s, too. somehow the tone wizard still came out on top. kudos to Nichols, he held his own.
JJ is one groovy cat! Currently trying to add his style to my playing as much as possible.❤

The most glorious sounds coming from those Les Pauls. Totally wanna run home n plug mine straight into my Blues Deluxe on 10!!!!
That was one of the best jam I've seen in years. Thank you
I have no words. Oh wait, actually I have 4! Damnit now I have three..fo.......holy shit that performance was spectacular.
Something really beautiful bout a LP with P90s!!
agreed Everyone that plays my gold top tries to buy it from me. played through a Marshall, it is just an unbeatable tone.
Great Jam, Everyone Got 2 Have Their Gibson GUITARS , Love Those Crossroads Blues & New Song With Joe on there is Killin It🙀🙀🙀
Absolutely Awesome!! Thank You!!
saw jared on tour with John 5 last year and he put on one of the best shows ive ever seen.
Nah... this duo is legendary, I hope to see them once in my life sometime
I really wish I could enjoy JBs playing.. this would be the first time Ive watched him play for this long.. and that was mostly because of JJN.
Why do they always have to label it "guitar battle" when two stellar players are having fun jamming? "Guitar alchemy" or "guitar collaboration" would be a better description. Music isn't an olympic sport. Great jam.

What a battle
What a drummer…🥁🤘🏻
Both great, but Joe’s tone is just untouchable !!!
BTW: Jared’s new album kicks Serious Ass !!!
Thats what a late 1950’s Les Paul sounds like. You can’t reproduce it anywhere
Clean n pure...damn sweet
Joe B. with the volume sweeps for the win.
Fuckin EPIC 👌🏼💯💪🏼
I know its only been a couple days but, 5.7k views for JJN and JoeB. Mind Blowing
Goddamn! Ever since the lion got courage he’s been playing his ass off since he left oz! I didn’t even know he was a musician. Dorthy never mentioned that.
Boys! What a fun video 🤘🤘🤘love it! ⚡️🤘⚡️

Love both players....tasty tone ...badasses
Jared is the top of the heap! Such a great player and Joe, well, nothing to say that's not already been said he's amazing seen him twice!
Every time I watch somebody like Jered or Trucks play, I wish I'd never picked up a guitar pick when I first began playing.

Love Peace and Chicken Grease.
Absolutely love this!! 🔥
wow ... my favorite guitarists at one time ... gorgeous ...
Viper Room is a great small club. Been there to see Steel Panther. Love to win the verde Gibson LP.
Pretty damn cool, guys. Very nice.
This is the kind of battle where everybody wins.
100% 🍻
Wow man what a killer show. Joe and Jared are both beasts. Ive seen Jared live but gotta catch Joe. Joe is a guitar master on that blues .
That was pretty cool! 👍👍🎸🎸😎
NICE ANGLE❤
At 3:47, the cheer of a member of the audience is harmonically in tune with what Joe is playing! Never heard that! What are the odds??!
Because of the lighting, I thought the bass player's hate said, "Let's Fart", which is way funnier than "Let's Party." 😜
This sounds like me and all the boys on Tuesday nights. LOL at least we get free drinks and people like to take vids of us. We like to just shred Blues
Let them fight…
Joe, as we all know is a legend and Jared...well, this guy is well on his way ...what a phenomenal player....if you are sharing a stage with Joe, I think you pretty much made it!!! :)
Hair of the gods
Les Paul + P90s + Marshall amp = Epic tone
JJN has such a great voice and is such a great songwriter too, in addition to being such a fantastic guitar player.
…and of course, Joe Bonamassa is a beast.
perfect show
Awesome Combo
Robben Ford could have shaken it up a bit. Great stuff thanks.
Both tone masters and incredible players... I'm a fan of both but imagine theyre kinda 2 diff fan bases other than guitar nerds haha
2 of my FAV axemen 🎸 🎸
What happened at 14:04 ?😮 holly shit masterpiece
Amazing!
welp. that was super cool.
That is pure goldd
I think if you let Joe do his thing and you do yours he’d be pretty cool to be in a band with. Glen Hughes and his jumping around and in front Joe I don’t think he was digging it in Black Country but hopefully they get bugs worked out. Hell add Jarrod. Be a great semi-super group.
Two monsters. 😮
They were both evenly matched. almost never see that. I do feel like Jared was having more fun though.
JJN has such a unique voice on the guitar without resorting to overly technical stuff, or advanced theory moves. He's meat and potatoes, but like meat and potatoes that blow your mind that it could be that good. Joe to me is a lot more sterile and I feel like I can pick out where he is lifting his licks from.
joe looks much cooler with casual clothes than suits😂😂
Whats the name of song they are playing? Anybody know
Threw me to the wolves by Jared James Nichols
Great freekin' songs!!!!
Song ?
Way cool 😎
Yes!!!!!!!
Not a "battle" - a "conversation"....maybe an "argument"?
Joe should do a "Joe and Friends' tour and everyone rotate around
Joe is so high up on the mountain that few people can touch him.
Epic
I thought using genetic engineering to clone humans was immoral? Who created this creature hybrid between Ted Nugent/ Eric Clapton & Thunder god. Thor?
52 les Paul Dorothy vs 59 burst
Camera seems to fatten up everybody...except the bassist.
😅
Joe," I happen to have a vintage Les Paul standard in the trunk".
Rippin.
#EPIC
Pretty average Australian pub band in the day.
this is in australia???
Which pub!
@@Zoetropeification lmaoooooooo
❤
Playing on stage with Joe B. gotta be a rush
It's called a duet.. there's nothing confrontational about it. Quite the opposite in fact.
Of course! All in fun, thanks for watching. Joe and JJN have collaborated a lot and it’s always incredible
Music is not war or competition. The "guitar battle" concept in the title kinda sucks. As to the playing and the artists Joe and Jared: superb!
Déjà cette expression de battle ça veut rien dire, sinon sur le coup bonamassa passe pour un monteur de gammes un peu froid, comparé à l autre qui sonne grave
Entièrement d’accord. La technique main droite et le son de Jared font toute la différence! 👍🏻
But….who would win in a fistfight?
clapton
Mick Mars
Ace
Ace Who?
Black out! as if. This is the real conviction of a real guitarist! Play hat jam session, and let the Gods be cheerful! We must allllll go into the sun!
Not a battle. Duet
Joe has DEF studied Eric Johnson.
So who was in tune again, and who was out!??
👍
JJN
Joe is a very gifted musician but there's something that's mojoless...just kinda boring...Jared has mojo
is this the greatest musical export from Wisconsin --- ever?
Jared looks like an old country plow boy, dudes pretty big , if it were him i would have gonna in the slim up rather then bulk up direction .
The term "Guitar Battle" could not be any lamer! lmao, so effin corny!
JB looks so unhappy 😮❤
I would be too this a Clapton Hendrix moment but that was the most beautiful back and forth I’ve heard in a while
