Charlie can hold is own with anybody in the business. Such a deceptably great axeman. He is so slick and tasteful. He makes it look easy. BS is such a fabulous throwback to what great bar bands USED to sound like back in 70's. These guys can do it all. LOVE these guys!
I live in Atlanta and saw these guys a bunch on local stages early in their career.....and they were great then. Always had a soft spot for them as they climbed up the ladder to worldwide success. I think maybe I was on the same bill as them once. Saw them last year at their annual Thanksgiving Homecoming concert.....fabulous.
@@michaeltew4492 wow! Ital my dream to celebrate new year with us But … I’m living in Switzerland and haven’t enough money to pay the plane and hotel and return … I hope I can realize this dream before I retire
The fact that there were four guitar players on that stage and it didn’t devolve into sonic mayhem says a lot about them. I don’t usually like jams like this for that very reason. This was a master class in restraint and respect.
I think there is only one Lynard Skynard and one Blackberry Smoke. Blackberry Smoke is just bringing "southern rock" into the 21st century. I know they give me hope for the future of music 🎉✌️❤️🌼👏😎@@sendmeyourlocation1145
Me Too! They are Skynard/Black Crowes/ Allman Bros/ Stones Mix and a whole lot more. Saw Them 2 years ago in a small club in Kitchener Ont and It was the best sound and set Ive ever encountered. Sooo Damn Good. Bonamassa is excellent as well.. been to see him 4 times and never anything but Gold!
WOW, I just found these guys, im 68 years old, they brought me back to my younger day with a smack of blues and some rock thrown in and a spice of country. You go boys Absolutely shocking THANK YOU for making me young again!
So glad you discovered them! I found them around 2012 and immediately loved them. Reminded me of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, the Black Crows, etc. They are right up there with the best.
I'm not a big Bonamassa fan, but I do respect his technical prowess and he is good at blending in with his peers. And then we have Blackberry Smoke - three killer guitar players in the same band - always a pleasure to listen to this band!
and i just saw his son, Christian Gray perform a song with them at the Ryman…”Flirting With Disaster” by Molly Hatchet & he’s getting to be a good guitarist as his daddy. you could see how proud Charlie was.
Charlie gave a great rhythm to this song, every time this rhythm takes me away. Joe looks curious to see how Charlie plays, happy. Benji is having fun too, always perfect in his game, and Paul as always excellent. prestige is enthusiastic at first, it's a pleasure. 4 excellent guitarists that gives that! wow❤
A tour de force of guitars! Joe, Charlie, Benji and Paul! BLACKBERRY SMOKE IS THE GREATEST BAND IN ROCK IN OUR TIME! If you haven’t seen them…. son get your hat and go!
Dude that's awesome that Blackberry Smoke is on the Blues Cruise. WAY more people need to know about them. They are an absolutely GREAT band and have been for a really long time.
@@RileyNagle Yeah man and Charlie Starr is legit! I'm a huge Mule fan as well and saw the original band on the Dose tour and they absolutely OBLITERATED Skynyrd and Peter Frampton in Johnson City TN. Warren is a HUGE influence to me and when I was a 14yr old kid my dad took me to my first ABB show in 96 and we were front row center. Warren noticed me having a blast and between songs went to Dickey and pointed me out. They had a roadie bring them an Eat A Peach shirt and they signed it and walked right in front of me and pointed at me and threw me the shirt and a pick from Dickey! I've still got it all to this day! Warren is, was, and always will be the MAN!
@@SimpleManGuitars1973Love Warren Haynes… I got to sit two rows in front of him, dead center for an entire concert several years ago and it’s probably one of the best moments of my life. Both Warren & Charlie are friends with a local musician & friend, Greg Martin. thanks to Greg we’ve been lucky enough to have Gov’t Mule & Blackberry Smoke Come to our town to play several times. Greg’s band even had them opening the year that they recorded.
Everyone on the stage is just lights out, SOOO good. But a Jr into a 4-holer Marshall makes me swoon. Could listen to Charlie play for hours and hours. Great stuff, thank you for sharing!!
Went to a Blues Club Deep in Elm and M street (Deep Elem) in Dallas back in '98. I was with two caucasian buddies to make three of us, there was one other caucasian in the club playing some Chris Duarte' riffs... Amazing night and all there made me feel most welcome.
I love BS’s light hearted approach to blues songs - they makes listening to the blues more palatable, for me at least. Everyone was great but for me Charlie was the star (no pun intended), tone, phrasing, singing, all impeccable as always 👏🏻 Lovely clear audio and a great moment captured on camera, thanks Bob B for sharing this for us all to enjoy, you’re a star too! 😊🤟🏼🎸
Mama mia. I'm gonna listen to this clip a bunch of times. What a performance. They are having fun. What a cruise that must have been. Thanks so much Bob B. Hope there will be more clips. Seeing them 15 Sept. in Tacoma. Can't wait.
I've played guitar for 45 years and if I could pick anyone on that stage that I'd like to be able to play like it would be Charlie..and Benji is a shit hot slide player too.
I did the one in MARCH… it was fantastic! But this one on the Mediterranean would be unreal. Plus, I love BlackBerry smoke. the last evening of the cruise in March we went to hear Joe on the pool deck for the last time and I was late, but I had a cane and the security guard put me right in front. I could have polished Jose shoes.
Aight, Ima say this - I have seen Joe B crush all comers on stage, and all of them my favs. Walter Trout, Zach Wylde, so many that I'm like "man, wtf is this dude doing here next to JB..." Charlie is def holding his own here, very nice solo.
@robertmantell1700 Charlie is SO underrated. He's not a shredder, but serves up some of the tastiest licks when the band stretches out like this! And agree, JB is usually on another level.
This could be the first I’ve seen Paul Jackson get a turn to solo, and I’ve been a fan of BBS since 2010 and seen them live 14 times. I even have a copy of them doing this very tune at the 1st Peach Festival at Montage Mountain after their 1600 mile ride to get there.
Blackberry Smoke is the most underrated band out there
Keeping southern rock alive
and underrated is the most overrated word. How is this band underrated?
I'm 73 & l love ❤️ this southern rock !! & U Guys r the best!! Rock on brother's. 🤘

Blackberry Smoke ....one of the best live bands I've ever seen 🎶🎵🎸
This sounds sooooo good.... A lil Gibson jr being such a boss in the hands off the frontman of Blackberry Smoke. Incredible.
Was about to write the same. What a tone!

Straight fire 🔥
never played a Gibson dot that wasn't awesome.
I like a Jr more than a regular standard les Paul. That single pickup is HOT🔥🔥

actually Blackberry Smoke & Bonamassa are covering a traditional song first performed in 1936 by the Shelton Brothers.
