Thank you for explaining that the axle spindle seal does not sit in the housing. I was struggling for like 2 hours yesterday even ripped one but it needed replacing anyways. Learning curve.
Your videos are super helpful. Im very happy with your customer service and your great products. My truck is riding really good. Thank you. I’ll be back.
Is there a dust cover that goes on the axel before the vacuum seal? I took the old one off my truck and there seems to be a rusted out cover of some sort that goes on first
I received new front Hub-bearing assembly, and they came w/additional parts. I thought those additional parts are some king of seals for the bearing-hub assembly, and couldn't find out how to put them together. Now I know that those mystical objects are Spicers, an Inner Axle seal for those who plan to extract that Axle. Thank you for the showing installation process though I plan just to change the Hub-bearing unit. In my set I also received two O rubber rings, where do they go? Is the process for a small car the same? Thank you for the film again.
What if you just put some grease on your fingers and put them in the tube to hold the axle up and then just slide your fingers out when you’re close enough….
No, you don't need a press, but you do need that tool. I banged mine on with a hammer, and everything worked fine for at least 80k miles (don't use the truck much any more.)
Are use the 6695 tool to press the vacuum seal in place went fine, snap ring popped right in. Then I desired to do the u-joint so I removed the seal. After installing seal axle assy in to the hub I was not able to get the washer-thrush washer-washer and snap ring on, the seal is just not far enough down the shaft. I put the tool on and just beat the hell out of it, the end of my tool mushroomed, the seal did not move. I've tried and tried to pull the axle out, it just won't move. I've watched all your videos, can't figure what I did wrong. Now this is the second time I've done this, first time went fine. It's the second reinstallation of the same seal. Maybe I need a new seal but on one of your videos the seal. Passenger side went just fine.
sounds like you put the Inner Thrust washer on backwards. That will cause this.. They have a Vidoe on the proper way to install the inner Thrust Washer on the 2004 and older Dana 60. The 2005 and newer does not use that inner thrust washer

I'm in the middle of doing this very thing on my front end and boy did you just solve a lot of problems for me, thanks.
Best video ever. Thanks a lot from Norway🙂 the idea with the paperboard was clever.

The OTC toll also helps to properly set the install depth of the axle/seal assembly into the knuckle.
Yeah, he didn't show that part, but that's also what that tool is used for, and necessary.
He needed to do it bc it wasn't seated all the way for sure.
But all in all great video, very clear and properly demonstrated 👍🏽great job man . Very helpful
Awesome, but I went with the Timken upgraded dust seal. It is beefier, and offers better/longer protection. Thanks for the video
Brilliant, thanks for the tips. I'd definitely look to buy axle parts from you guys in the future.
I need those two exact seals for my 2002 ford excursion 7.3 L D 4WD
Is that vacuum seal on backwards?

But the inner dust sheld shoudl get pushed into the Axel tube right ?
Does the axle tube has a seal?
are they directional? i think i put mine on backwards or i didnt put my axel in aak they
I'm using the old stub shaft do I remove the dust shield
What's the name of the seal inside where you put the piece of carbon?
That a dust seal
wait so that seal doesnt go all the way into that axel end to block the entry? you just left it dangling there..
correct. it does not. Its just a gravel guard for the tube..
I have a 1999 F350 4x4 and I can’t find the outer hub axle seal for the front right axle. The part number 50381 that keeps popping up is too small.
This is a whole new system compared to what I took off. Is there no more dust cover?

Awesome information....👍👍👍👍
Can the vacuum seal be installed with tool you use and a mallet or sledge ? And whats best to use for lubricating hub selector ?
Yes you can set your tool on the seal and use a 3lb mallet
@@gerardthibodeaux1157 Hi.
Yes, you can set seal with a mallet. I just did.
Thank you !
Is a press the only option for this even if you use the 6695?

Thank youuuuu man... You are good☺️
I’ve been given the wrong inner seal three times now, maybe I’ll just wrap it with electrical tape.

I had a similar problem did you find the cause?
Maybe wrong part number
