Thank you for the video! Got some parts from your shop and rebuilt my entire axel. Seals, u joints, hubs, lockers. Should be finished up tomorrow with my 99 F250 7.3.
Thanks for this.. Mine was built by a "Pro" Shop that did not install the inner Thrust washer that run between the Spline shaft and the Unit Bearing.. This allowed the Shaft to beat the needle bearings to death . after 10,000 miles i am now rebuilding the entire Dana 60 because of this rookie mistake. Yes, this woudl be even more helpful if you showed this detail with the Vacuum Dust Seal in Place on the Spline shaft just to make it 10000% Clear. Thank you. Again.
Its been a while since I have done one of these hub replacements. I'm digging into one right now and the inside thrust washer was just behind the stack of 3 thrust washers. I consulted Mitchell Pro Demand with no luck, then RUclips. 3 videos in a row had them wrong. Thank you for clearly demonstrating the proper method!
Great! Iv watched other videos of changing the axle and they didn't go into detail about the washers. Thank you! Now I just have to find them. Was hoping to get at auto store, but no.
Thanks was stuck. Until I seen your video. Had a friend started working on my truck. But I had to put it back together. Was so stuck on why I couldn’t get the snap ring on. Thanks again.
Had to search a bit to find this, most straightforward, important secretions. Thx for taking the time to help out us anal mechanics that have to make sure we've got it right ✅️
Just for others interpretation, this might appear weird, but generally the axle is installed so you're putting that thrust washer inside of the knuckle onto the shaft then installing the bearing.
Great! Exactly what I was looking for! I kept track of the outer thrust washers (directly under the snap ring) but the inner thrust washer fell out when I removed the hub assembly and I didn’t know which was. Thank you very much!!!
It should be noted that the vacuum seal which normally surrounds the base of the stub axle has been left off for ease displaying the thrust washer placement. If one puts the hub back together with out the back seal it will not function properly. Question. Is grease recommended for either the inner thrust washer or the outer thrust washer set?
Simple and informative video, love the content you guys have been putting out. If I am converting my 99-04 to 35 spline outer stub shafts, what thrust washer kit should I get?
What would cause there to be a gap between the snap ring and thrust washers? I’ve replaced ball joints, hub bearing assemblies, all the seals and thrust washers but there is a significant gap between the snap ring a thrust washers. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

same here!
Excellent work; there are videos that show the thrust washer on the outside of the uni bearing; great you showed it ON THE INSIDE!

Good Stuff, Great Tips👍🏿😀 2016 F250 XLT 6.2L 4W 4D (Stock)
Thanks; though I wish you'd have had the Vacuum Seal on the axle as well so we can see what it looks like in total.
Ditto . !

THANY YOU VERY MUCH
Every time I work on a truck they are jumbled all around I am so confused by the mess. I swear I can't remember how it goes again.
Take pictures or video, it works for me
