I'm no fan of lithium batteries. We have long winters where I live and I'm worried that the battery will be damaged by not being charged for months? Probably it's expensive and not easy to replace? I need a new touch screen for my old GTA. Is it still available?

Oh dear, is all I can say! You guys at garret must be going around with your heads in a bucket. Sure the garret will have the Faithfull buying this machine but I'm afraid this eightys introduction won't work on the majority of experienced detectorists.

It's muti frequency- which everyone else already has. The graphs indicate amount of ferrous- which Nokta and Minelab already do with their ferrous scales and going by the adjustable iron pitch sounds. This is not the 'new' technology that was promoted, it's just a reworking of existing with more techno babble.

New technology? It does nothing different than any other detector on the market in its price range. As a matter of fact, many cheaper detectors have more settings than the Vortex. So, I’m confused about the “new technology” you lay claim to. Other than upgrading the machine to different stages, which is really nothing more than everyone else doing version updates, I fail to see the breakthrough in the Vortex.
