The music is deafening and the strobe lights are blinding. They don't mind however, they died years ago. Their youthful visage is striking with their deathly pale skin. They dance and celebrate endlessly, thinking they cheated death. They haven't cheated death; they are merely in debt. For tonight, I come to collect.
veiga1000 is this a casset tape in the game
you my good sir get a like
Kudos to you my friend :)
as far as I can tell this is in fact not from a cassette tape, because they all tell some side story from the perspectives of the Undead, not the reaper (except for the secret hardmode tape, which could be either Ibzan or you)
veiga1000 - if this was narrated during the start of the song... that’ll be sick
I have forty hours in Deadbolt and I can say, with confidence, that I have listened to the soundtrack more than that. Bravo man, this album is a masterpiece
I have zero hours in Deadbolt but I jam to this soundtrack often.
Hotline Miami and Katana Zero have proven you can’t have an indie gorefest game without at least one dance club level 😏
my thoughts exactly
Well, Deadbolt came earlier than Katana Zero. Still agree tho.
My Friend Pedro had it all wrong then
@@APKAK-1465 My Friend Pedro was badass, but a dance club level would have been dope
Hotline Miami isn't as good as people say when you play it
RUclips's auto music playlist for me is 40% Deadbolt, 40% RoR, and 20% SilvaGunner

this chris guy makes some good music, he should become a professional composer or something
If some dev team decided to pick him as their sole choice for composing their game OST, that would be amazing
Yeah I’m honestly disappointed that he hasn’t made the soundtracks for any games, I bet it would be great
Yeah it would be nice if he made the soundtrack for a cool roguelike with great lore.
@@shrunker684 Ho
poo games in the backround
yea it'd be great if he made music for a top hit rougelike that many people will adore and be recognized for the music he made for it
If they ever make a deadbolt sequel which I hope they do, I hope your in charge on the music again, deadbolt has probably one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, I love this game to bits and wish I could play it for the first time again. You absolutely killed the soundtrack for the game
absolutely on the same side with this one
Deadbolt without Chris' music would be like Sam Fisher without Michael Ironside: it just would be the same
While playing the game I was wondering if it was the composer who also had the idea to "muffle" the music whenever you're outdoor, which is something I found really cool.
Anyway great job on those tracks ;)
The level editor shows how it's done and it's amazing. You place a music object and if you aren't in the room with it, the music muffles.
this is also true in risk of rain 2, when you are outside of the teleport range it kinda muffles the music, such a nice touch imo
@Sacha Lasser there is actually no teleport range, its just a timer
@@sainttrovo1529 thats risk of rain 1, risk of rain 2 changed it to a radius you need to stay in to charge the teleporter
I comeback to this track so often, you nailed this game's soundtrack like a champ
Thanks! I really like this game and the music turned out nice :)
yo everhood fan
Seriously, Deadbolt wouldn't be half as good without the soundtrack. It's great to see a vgm artist explore different styles (compared to Risk of Rain) and be that awesome at it.
And an un-dead Neo, Morpheus and Trinity enter the dance room.
Nice!
*slow mo dances as reaper shoots them*
This is what they hear; an endless music, to which they write forever. They dance in an imitation of life and all its joys, for they feel neither joy nor life. Lascivious and lustful and desperate, they dance. Frantic and sensual, they rub against each other, begging the moving dead to make them warm.
It is futile, of course. The dead cannot be warm, no more than ice can flow. Yes. As the ice replicates in chill perfection the day it moved no more, so do these lovely corpses copy what they were in life; cold and beautiful, dreaming of the relief that will not come.
Let them be joyous, for on this night I shall collect their sorrow.
I love how the two synths trade off the melody. It's almost like a dance of death.
Got into Hopoo Games creations backwards. First RoR2, then RoR and now Deadbolt.
Chris. You know how to make music and how to make the listener feel every single feeling at once when they listen to it.
Even though I don't like RoR2 ost as much as the previous ones, It's still amazing.
@Hussy Punter con lentitud poderosa and Rain formerly known as purple. Both are absolute bangers. Besides, over time I came to like them all
Risk of Rain 1 was Created before deadbolt
For me it was RoR1, RoR2, then DEADBOLT.
for me it was DEADBOLT, RoR1. not really a fan of RoR2's premise
This piece of art is one of the most amazing things i've ever heard in video games.
Thanks J, love your hair!
This soundtrack made the game!
A real hornswoggler if he isn't.
The music is honestly better than the game. And the game is good.
this song describe the game
@@TheSamuraiGoomba true
I walk with briskness and consistency. My speed never wavers, slows, quickens. I move at the medium pace of inevitability. They expect me, but underestimate me with immortal recklessness.
My gunfire flashes with the club lights. The night is good to me.
To give credit, I love Deadbolt, but I overlooked it at first. I took a second look at it because I loved Risk of Rain and its soundtrack and I saw the playlist for Deadbolt here. Glad I did because both the game and the music are fantastic.
Thanks for giving the game a chance and the kind words about it and the music :) Glad you liked it!
Same here, dropped 10 bucks on Deadbolt because Chris' music is a staple in my productivity playlists. Beat it in a night, now the riffs are stuck in my head!
4 YEARS LATER AND I AM THRIVING OFF OF THIS TRACK
Make that six years
Out of all the tunes I'm relistening to, this one nails the tone of the gameplay. The periodic scrambling betweeen playing it cool stealth while also those moments where you just have to get the job done.
Fantastic game with fantastic music, especially in the second act. jesus, this soundtrack was so friggin good, i couldnt stop playing even though i was so pissed off bc i didnt beat the level :D
+Sven Christ the 1000 year royals?
Alejandro Escobedo yes, but i don't know which level it was, i would guess it was the Twins, but I am not sure. Hated this level.
me too, went on full rampage with the sycthe,
Alejandro Escobedo never bought that, actually. Surpressed Shotgun or Tactical SMG with a Flashbang worked pretty good.
+Sven Christ The game is almost impossible without the scythe
But good luck!
Man this song is so good. It's one of those where you stop playing the game for a moment just to enjoy the music.
I've really enjoyed this game for the week I've been playing it since release, and the soundtrack is definitely half of the experience. I like that you can hear a certain "Reaper" leitmotif throughout the soundtrack, it makes the entire game feel whole.
My favourite track is "Heynong Man", I'll never get tired of that one. :}
I took 1 year of dance classes thanks to this song, thanks Chris
Such an awesome song in this great OST. This one actually convinced me to buy the game.
Good to hear, glad you enjoy! :)
fucking fantastic.
My favorite vision of Deadbolt 2 ( if there is going to such game )is of a detective in the same reality as the Reaper. Investigeting Ash dealing and murders the Reaper commited. The gameplay would be something like the first game but more about the lore and mystery than just : mission, shot stuff, (maybe )find a tape , listen , get back to shoting stuff, burn ash , shot some other stuff. ( I imagine World of undead difrent from the whole underground, illegal stuff that we witnessed in the Deadbolt )My vision maybe diffrent than the Creators have in mind buti hope we will get more lore in the next ( hoppefully coming ) game. Still great game . Great music. Great job.
manny pardo?
It would seem as if deadbolt 2 has basically been confirmed but who knows what that will entail and when even we'll see it
@@dangernoodle3343 where?
@@Valzip One of the devs twitter accounts said they'd love to revisit deadbolt in 3D due to the limitations of a 2D environment in response to a question along the lines of "are you going to make more 3D games" or something like that. Although I don't remember which one as they have a lot of accounts
@@dangernoodle3343 Tbh with how small the Dev team is, it will probably at least be announced in early 2022, They are still very busy with RoR2 atm, and the roadmap goes all the way into 2021
Recently after about two years of playing the Risk of Rain games I decided to finally pick up Deadbolt and man your music as per usual goes above and beyond. It really sets the mood beautifully. Hope you stay working with Hopoo for a long time, their games wouldn't be the same without your banger tracks tbh. Also this track in the soundtrack is probably my fav.
Glad you played the game, I know ROR is the megahit but I love Deadbolt :)
"Don't open the door..."
"But someone's knocking, it would be impolite to not check who's there!"
Doesent matter...if you checked who's knocking you're already dead
open the door!!!!!!
knock on the door
FBI, OPEN UP!
Great work. Loving this soundtrack (and this game)!
Like he said this is the song that most matches the game play
when ever I think of this game I will always thing this tune.
I can not stop listening to it
Oh btw, this is your second project with Hopoo, and it happened pretty soon after RoR. Do you think you are going to become a staple in their development team? They make great games, you make great music. You were born for each other.
I don't know what Hopoo would be without you, so I totally support you continuing your additions to their projects.
+Chris Christodoulou I hope they keep you around honestly, Love your music.
The ambientation of Hopoo games synergises very well with Chris' atmosphere
Well good news! I think Chris is coming back for ROR2
yes, check out their tumblr
some guy answered in the same thread 7 months before u asked the question
Tense.... I love it
The soundtrack made the game it pulled me back every-time the ambient and feel of the game were all fantastic.

Thats how you drop a beat!
you can call me Hans i dont really know german
HAAANS!!!
FLAMMENWERFER!!!!!
heh.
Not to brag about a shitty meme but i used Hans before it was cool.
I also reply several months later because youtube is being a little bitch and doesn't notify me of replies i get.
I loved this game as soon as i saw the gamejolt demo of it, this song to me just shows how much controlled chaos you can feel in your enemies as you slowly pick them off
Just incredible
Once again, you made something great. Good job man
Amazing, I don't know how you do it Chris, but your musical work is just AMAZING.
Phenomenal! Congrats Chris!
i can feel the groove
What a great track
Love the distorted bass and the call and response
Best music ever.
very nice soundtrack again, thanks !
"U GOT GAEMS ON YO FONE" looking camera perspective
My favorite by far ! I definitely deeply enjoy your music !
+Chris Christodoulou so this its wut your working on now days
good old days thank you for this masterpiece.
best song ever
This song makes me boogie so hard. I literally cannot stop moving from side to side while listening to this. It impedes my gaming. Please remove from the game so I can focus on the level. Sincerely, your biggest fan.
My favorite track from the game.
I absolutely love this game so much, the music and the intensity I feel as I choose whether I'd go silent and take everyone out one by one or to go and take cover as I go into different rooms becoming the reaper himself. Thanks Chris for making an amazing soundtrack that is Deadbolt and honestly if they ever make a sequel of any kind, I would love to hear what you will have in store for us.
You working on a game's music in any manner is already a big selling point for me.
This track is hot fire.
I love this one
:c
Your music is filled with strong emotions, i hope you will have a long artistic career
Best of luck !
this is why great games are made greater
Absolutely not disappointed with what's the most replayed moment. All teasing intended
blood in the dancefloor , its genial
This song is like smooth Pellegrino poured into my ears
This soundtrack haunts me. I kept dying so much...
best strategy music ten out of ten
the best soundtracks xD
This is eargasm, great job !
Ear job?( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I always wait to 3:00 until I uhh... "get to work" on this level.
Dude you crazy-talented. You create magic with your work in music. I pray you continuously find success in life. :D
it sounds sooo cool

I've been getting into Deadbolt all over again recently and, I don't know if it's just a coincidence, it's there on purpose or I'm just paranoic at this point, but... Is the vibration sound when you buy a weapon or get an achivement also Reaper's theme?
I can't remember it but I seriously doubt it since Reaper's theme is too long for such use. It's definitely not done by me but maybe Jordan did something with it..
I buy 2 days ago DEADBOLT only for listening music.
Chris thank you! OST for RoR1/2 and DB are awesome!
killing.
Great work on this song
Thank you!
I didn't think you would respond. So thanks. And again you made Deadbolt even better with all of your music
As soon as I will learn to draw properly and and work with animating software, I'll be doing a Deadbolt animation.
Damn, this track inspired me so much.
Ya still working on it?
Υπέροχη μουσική! Ωραιος! ;)
Σε ευχαριστώ! :)
so fucking sick, ya did it again chris! my man!
You, Lenna Raine and Daft Punk are basically carrying me through my school work. Super glad I found you! Your works are staples of my playlists.
This game needs a sequel
This was my favorite track until I heard the proverbial dust biters. Awesome work :)
Dayum. Yeah, I am thinking the Deadbolt soundtrack is going to beat the RoR soundtrack. My favorite song from RoR has got to be Coalescence, and I think so far the two Deadbolt songs you have put on RUclips are right on par with that.
I know what I liked most about Coalescence was the ever-rising intensity, and the calm nature of the music itself (of course until the end where it goes all crazy) which kept me on my toes in that ever-dramatic environment.
Deadbolt on the other hand, has a powerful and mighty feel, judging purely by these first two songs. The RoR soundtrack was very emotional to me, and this soundtrack so far is very... Inspirational? I'm not actually sure what word best describes this, but I really like it.
+Zebo12345678 OMG man you took the words right out of my mouth! I too loved coalescence for that very reason, and am too digging this soundtrack as well. Man being a reaper is cool!
Hey Chris, did you know somebody released a song where they put lyrics onto this absolute banger? I think it really does this piece justice
Yeah, I really botched the job leaving it unfinished all this time...
where can i find it i wanna hear that
@AstronautDown he was probably talking about Man on The Internet
God damn it why does indie game alway have good jam like this
It's some secret conspiracy, I'm sure of it!
@@AstronautDownmust have been the NHK’s doing….
I can't feel alive until my work is done
I want to use this in my dnd sessions if the PC's go sneaking in the night.

epic
There will be blood.
Ironically this is a great song to use when running games of Vampire: The Masquerade.
Is it ironic, or is it fitting ;)
A bit of both I guess. Just playing vampires instead of killing them lol. Great song regardless.
The cadaver in the living room fills the floor with crimson blood, stinking of putrefaction and death, i open the door and sit on the porcelain throne as i release the poop into the watery depths below, the corpse quickly rattles to my leg and lies besides me in the toilet, a stench fills the room
*_release the poop_*
*ohh*
Am I the only one who feels the John Wick vibe here?
It was one of the first things Hopoo mentioned about the style of the Vampires. I hadn't seen the movie when I wrote the music though :)
Chris Christodoulou i'm sorry but don't mean to compare xD. it's the music genre and atmosphere throughout the game. I love all of your music by the way it gives off a badass kind of aura just like this game, Deadbolt xD
James Lenard Soriano No need to apologize, I didn't mean that I mind the comparison, I was just saying that it is legitimate :) I hadn't seen the film but Hopoo asked for a dark, trance vibe for the Vampire levels. So it is natural that there are similarities :)
From all I've seen of this game, I'm absolutely certain its a genre I wont enjoy... but every time I hear this song I reconsider that decision. The whole soundtrack is amazing, but this one is particularly magnetic. Its wearing me down, and I dont know if I have enough free time to experiment on another new game ;_;
...For the record, your work was what made me cave and buy Risk of Rain 1 as well.
Chris, I'm a big fan of your work, this is not actually my account, but I just wanted you to know, if you have any future projects, or music you are making, please forward it to @D.W.
I'll do my best to support it, because only a man of great genius could make such great work.

Like they say… Chris don’t miss
How am I supposed to focus on killing people with all those sexy vampires dancing about?!
Either way, great job on this song, and on the entire OST overall. You got some funky tunes going on, Chris.
Well, extreme difficulty is a selling point for all Hopoo games. This is our design :)
@@AstronautDown Coming back here 6 years later just to say.
This OST still slaps.
Will the soundtrack be on ITunes like risk of rain? I love your music! It's just so good! I like stop playing and listen to the music while playing deadbolt
+Chris Christodoulou awesome!
I would love for this to be a 3D game kinda like risk of rain 2
This was so fucking hard...
the beginning of this is so plague inc like
Finally “beat” the normal mode of this game
Now time to try the hard mode
This music I heard at the moment when I saw many vampires and God how do I kill them!?
LiT i presume?
