The game is nothing without the soundtrack. Its the music that makes us retry the level over and over again rather than rage quitting
Definitely.
i kept playing the demo because of the gameplay though
Hey the Game is still great. This ost just makes it even better.
the game and the ost are perfect :)
It's not pining! It's passed on! This parrot is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! This is a late parrot! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace, if you hadn't nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies! It's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This is an EX-PARROT!
If you want to get anything done in this country, you have to complain until you're blue in the mouth.
Lovely plumage
@@jadentheprinceofdarkness4824 The plumage don’t enter into it.
I just wanted to be a lumberjack
God, using that auto-grenade launcher to blow up the minigun-demons with the guitar blaring in the background made both the song and the level so much more fucking awesome than they already were.
This parrot is no more! IT IS AN EX-PARROT!
It'd be pushing up daisies if it hadn't been nailed to perch!
The ex parrots sound like a gang
poor bird
I like how you can recognize enemies you fight by music in their stages.
Like, Vampires have the rave, dance party tracks (like Blood on the Dancefloor), Demons have rock tracka (like this one) and Zombies have more hip-hop tracks
What type do skeletons have?
@@SolidusCurncer forgot, been a while since I played the game and I got frustrated with the last boss
@@masterzoroark6664 idk, he was kinda easy
@@SolidusCurncer calm guitar with synth

Jazz + Metal = ONE OF THE GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME.
No.
Hate me.
where is the jazz
ok but seriously can people please get their genres straight? no part of this is jazz, it's like prog rock/metal
@@emerylafleur rock, prog, and metal are derive from jazz anyway. They're bound to show signs of it
I seriously consider this as one of the best video game soundtracks made, very well done.
I seriously thank you so much! :)
I must second his notion, and mind you I'm a serious OST lover. It has it all, parts of it remind me of the great Barry Leitch's Spider the videogame soundtrack, it's fantastically composed and very varied. You're definitely a name to keep an ear out for, hope you have a great carreer ahead of you
+omni rhythm thanks so much! I'm working hard on new things and hope that people will enjoy it :)
this aged well :) @@omnirhythm
Whoah! I didn't keep tabs and didn't play Risk of Rain, so I only now took a peek at the channel and there it is. Thanks for the heads up, so glad to see the person succeed
Wow, I just noticed, with all the OSTs of this game, each one repeats the same.. melody/tune somewhere in the track, but each time in a different way! It repeats the tune at 1:39, right?
The Reaper's theme :)
Yeah, with Blood on the Dancefloor it's like the main hook of the song.
Also this one's beginning guitar riff too now that I think about it.
It's kinda what Chris does. He did it with Risk of Rain, the other game he made the soundtrack to, as well.
You can think about it as the omnipresence of the Reaper. Always with this Leitmotiv.
I like this Leitmotiv, damn Chris.
This is my favorite video game OST thank you so much for the brilliant music
You are very welcome!
PURE AND HEAVYYYYYY!!!!!
wow guys i cant believe he managed to make the percussion guitar too, man must have some serious talent
I underestimated this soundtrack. This song is like, actually, my dream song for playing games with fire music in the BG. I can headbang to this for hours. And that ending. Holy shit. The parrot is fucking incinerated.
Man named this absolute banger off of a Monty Python skit, absolute chad
A MONTY PYTHON REFERENCE?! YOU GOOD SIR ARE MY NEW FAVORITE VIDEO GAME MUSIC COMPOSER. Track slaps btw good job
Let's put it this way, the game wouldn't be what it is without your epic soundtrack!
Thanks! :)
First Risk of Rain. Now this? Your music are truly OFF THE CHART of Awesomeness.
I really want to get some of those music to my intros and outros when I start making RUclips videos, but geez. I just can't take it. Even if I credited you, it's just not right, not fair for you. Your music are incredibly amazing.
It's unique how you make those musics. When I started Deadbolt, after the second level I was like ''This kind of music, it sounds familiar''. Then I go to the credits and you're there. Christ, you're awesome, Chris.
Keep up the absolutely awesome work that you do! It's completely AMAZING.
I want to wish like, a rain of sucess and absolute victory upon your life. You deserve it. You deserve to have all the sucess and victory with the work you do. It's fantastic. And thank you for the tip, I'll be sure to look for composers. Maybe even you, in the future.
Take care, Chris!
I'm here thanks to the fact that you are the same composer of the Risk of Rain soundtrack and now I'm curious about this game
The OST is just too good, I love it :D
I just downloaded spoundcloud and discovered this and the risk of rain ost and my mind was BLOWN this stuff is just so good
Glad you like it!
+Chris Christodoulou :) I really do
@@AstronautDown off topic but u should watch the hanibal series, also watch the movie The Wolf House(horror).
This game's soundtrack is a banger.
Good work dude.
I like to think Charon's so utterly *pissed* at the Demons he borrows the Reaper a weapon he doesn't even sell just to deal with them.
Good ol' spoilies below, beware.
I wonder how he feels about Ibzan, what with him being the previous Reaper (and possibly customer), and all.
Amazing song, amazing ost, amazing game
This is freaking awesome! Loving this OST so far, Chris.
Lovely bird, the Norwegian blue. Beautiful plumage isn't it?
I N N I T ?
It’s probably pining for the fjords
Your work is awesome, seriously.
Work?
Now i didnt check the end credits, but im pretty sure this guy didnt make the song. All he did was take a music file from the game...
My dude...it's in the description. "Written & produced by Chris Christodoulou". He composed the music for the game. Plz.
Crows
Oh,well then...
Nice monty python reference!
Music still hits like a train even now
Death+Taxes time! >:)
+EyeMinSain Is it any good? I use mostly the silenced shotgun or the scythe.
+avaiboot. I only used it a bit, but it has good ammo and fire rate, with 14 bullets. The problem is accuracy, not that good at large distances. Definitely good in smaller maps.
They are ok.It's mainly for badass factor :)
death & taxes were my two children that i loved dearly on hard mode, there are just so many dudes it's difficult to consistently hit headshots and when you do there are only 5 bullets
never used em in normal, but as soon as hard came around I realized that 6 (or even 5 for that matter) bullets werent enough for the higher spawn numbers. Why did they release such a broken gun for 80 souls?
Nice. was looking for this one but couldn't find it for a long time since the level editor called it "blunt force trauma"
Ahhh, a little sneak peak into the making of! That was the original title for this for a very long time. At first it was meant to me much more aggressive, like the opening parts, but as the track evolved I decided to change the title, pretty much at the very last minute :)
My favorite. This soundtrack is so damn good.
Damn, man! That opening!!! Another great work. I don't have a whole lot to say this time, but holy shit I love that fast paced portion.
Is there any sheet music for this because I NEED to learn how to play this
10/10
Love your soundtracks Christodoulou, i would be honored to learn to play your music
No sheet music for the Deadbolt tracks, sorry. But I bet you can do it by ear with some trial & error and a bit of patience, which is a great exercise for any musician, so I'd give it a go, it's much less complicated than it seems ;)
@Christodoulou: Ok, thank you, and i will try ;)
is that a monty piphon reference in the name? nice work by the way
I love this.
I like how you named the track after a Monty Python skit, Chris.
No I didn't!
ok at this point chris is clearly cheating when it comes to how incredibly good he is at consistently making bangers and the moderators just DON'T CARE (what the hell)
I love the Monty Python reference.
This song reminds me of Tool, has that kinda vibe to me
Dope
Chris, since you're making the songs, can you tell me what kind of era Deadbolt is aiming?
I can't put my finger on it.
Yeah. I meant by era the game is set in.
>the gangs are listening to the music they like
I can dig that.
If there's no official statement, guess I'll go with contemporary
I'd assume modern or late 1900s the art style assumes so, especially with the huge crack boom in the mid 1900s
I assume it is set in the 1950s - 1970s due to the style of cars in missions such as drive thru, and the lack of modern technology.
Also because of the art style, with shirtless demons, and a tape-ey theme with collecting tapes, and the menu being like a tape deck.
Ah. Thanks!
i mean theres no humans in the game, im assuming its taking place in an alternate monster reality between earth and hell presumably
what level is this from? I cant remember.
I think this, with a couple of other tracks, are not in the main game but are available in the lvl editor :)
Chris Christodoulou It doesnt appear on the level editor for me.
This plays in the demon part of The Dredged act (i remember it playing in Drive Thru, at least), also in the hub/base of operations after reading the secret tape.
Immediately upon hearing this song, I took Death & Tax and went ham :)
it's Reaped By Death that's played in Drive Thru, this one plays in As A Glass (the Ibzan's house one)
Is that 7/4 I hear?
Indeed :)
This is the song for the demons right? The first demon mission I think
I couldn't help but wonder, is the name of this song a reference to a Monty Python skit?
Nice! That whole parrot skit was great
Anyway, awesome soundtrack man, I've been listening to it the last few days
😎👌🏽
Chris,Heres an idea for Hopoo, make it possible to change the music in-game across all of their OST's from other games.
Like, while playing RoR,You could select your own favourite theme/playlist/song across all of their games (Atleast the ones that you already bought)
Like while playing Deadbolt, you could listen to RoR soundtrack etc.
If they're as similar I think it'd be very good to satisfy the player with a bit of variety, and who knows?
Probably someone is already rocking RoR with Deadbolt!
Chris Christodoulou I mean,Shovel Knight did it I think,Even Metal Gear Solid V and probably few more games :d (And I dont think they've... you know.. failed) But I guess you made a solid point.
Anyways that was made as some random advice that I randomly thought about while listening to this so,you know.It was just like Aaaa! I have an Idea! not thought through, completely.
Welp,I guess that's it for today.
@Sacha Lasser If you look closely, in the first post I responded to Chris, so naturally,I got pretty excited. I have vague memories of him writting that it's not up to him but the actual development team or something like that, and the resulting comments of mine add up that way.
I remember that there was an issue with him responding to comments and apparently he was told not to do it. So he erased his history of commenting to clean up the records, before the official release of RoR2.
Now that aside, how do you feel responding in this condescending manner to a 4 year old comment.. So much time has passed... If you knew any better, you'd realize old comments don't have to retain their original form.
I should be the one apologizing for being tad harsh but as you could imagine if someone plays a misguided necromancer to a 4 years old post.. Let's just say you shouldn't revive a thread unless it's necessary.
Death Note vibes 2:13
Bro what is the time signature
It's 4/4 for the heavy parts and 7/8 for the softer parts, but with a few tricky bars in between.
@@AstronautDown i listen to the Deadbolt album when i drive and it's fun to try and count the time signatures but this one stumped me. Also, your music is fantastic!
I'm happy to hear because this one has deliberately confusing meter changes and accents :)
@@AstronautDown it's a funky one for sure. Do you have a favorite song on the album? Mine is Now I Am Become Death because it's such a cool mix of jazz and rock but all of them are so good
