Dang Ben, your story made get all teary-eyed. The times that I miss the most are when my daughters were small and they loved their daddy. They're mostly grown and don't have much to do with me. I truly miss those days.
As a childless cat dad, I enjoy your stories. I really wish I'd seen your videos before volunteering to tape and finish 15,000sf of sheetrock at a volunteer fire station. We built it, too, but taping and finishing it almost killed me because nobody else was interested and I had no idea what I was doing with banjos, bazookas, boxes, flushers, and Columbia corner tools. I'd really like a do-over!
Really like your videos, specifically, I love the unedited details. Gives a real world experience and I appreciate your honesty and strong work ethic. I'm sure it isn't easy filming/editing/managing clients ..etc.

Glad your learning the mechanical flusher. But you need to attach It to a tube and apply mud as you flush

Have you worked with softened well water? Where the house is on a well system and use a whole house water softener that uses salt. The salt seems to react to the compound and I cannot get a smooth and/or even finish. This is a repeat customer and I always forget about their salt. I start the job and I get so angry at myself for not being able to do a simple patch but then I remember about the salt and I have to drive a few miles back to a municipal supply and steal water from a retail garden center hose.
I use a angle tool on the box in big commercial work you need the mud thicker and push your guts out

Dont kill things.. Ive painted for decades and i try not to kill things just because they are in the way. Seems silly but it matters.

I’ve never used a glazer, but was amazed at how you were able to clean up the edges quite cleanly. When I do that on a flusher it causes more grief than just leaving it and scraping off the edge after. Is there a difference or just your skill at cleaning the edge?

Hey Ben, did you know you can use the angle head directly on the on the tube and skip the applicator ? It’s easier than using an angle box and makes way less mess than running the angle head over after the applicator.
One day I will get a basement of my own that I will be mudding and taping

Hi I am from Newcastle Australia I have been watching you for a while, I have just dry walled ( gyprocked ) a very old garage nothing straight, level or square. I have a lot of uneven gaps where the top sheet sticks out from the lower one. Should I use a quick set to fill first before tapping or use all-purpose with tape. Thank you Michael
