Vienna, March 2, 1998. Natascha Kampusch is ten years old when she is dragged into a white van by unemployed communication engineer, Wolfgang Priklopil, on her way to school. The kidnapper does not want a ransom - he wants to own the girl. Beneath his house in a middle class residential area, Priklopil has built a secret cell to imprison her.
This two by three meter space will be Natascha's barren prison cell for the next eight and a half years. Storybooks, favorite cookies and goodnight kisses serve to soften violence, humiliation and constant starvation. But this prison does not break Natascha Kampusch - it makes her stronger. Each day, each breath is a small defiant victory. In 2006, she finally manages to escape and Wolfgang Priklopil commits suicide.

The trailer makes it look like a love story. In truth he was awful to her.
mumof3 ikr
I know, at times in the movie he acted nice to her but still mean, I was yelling at my TV screen throughout the movie.
Yes the trailer doesnt represent the movie at all
if you read her bio she actually developed some sort of stockholm syndrome... while said he is a criminal, she actually cried when he died...
I agree! They're glamorising her horrific events, it's disgusting!
How can human being do this to each other..
Fangio JM only human beings can do this kind of shit
varun ravi I agree brother..its sad what some people are capable of
+varun ravi ducks do this stuff as well
The RobHemator You don't know what you're talking about. Watch the movie or read the book and then tell me ducks do the same thing
varun ravi
i meant they do similar thing like killing ducklings just to rape a mother or beating a female into submission to rape her.
The trailer is kinda stupid. nothing inspiring, just tragic. and the music is chosen as if it some love story. The movie is good, but the trailer doesn't match it.
I think it's meant to be presented like how Nabokov's "Lolita" is. The music makes it scary.. Natascha Kampusch has said she formed a "special" relationship with him and denied it to be Stockholm Syndrome. Even though there are times she wanted to kill him, a bit complicated and messed up. But it is stupid, "inspiring."
Ylai Jah vv
agreed. Talk about glamorizing pedophilia :-(
I have several problems with the delivery of this trailer and film:
The actor who played Wolfgang was too good-looking, and the actress was about the same age as him; her 30s, and weighed about 30 or even 40lbs less than Natascha did. Yes, she was starved, but didn’t look as emaciated, but it gets the point across of her misery. So it works, I suppose. Consequently, it made her look much older.
He began to rape her when she hit puberty, around age 14, but she looked more like 25 or older. Also the rape scenes were underplayed and dare I say, even romanticized! Which made my skin crawl. I remembered this is a CHILD this is happening to.
The scenes where he shows a sensitive side bothered me, because I didn’t feel anything but disgust for him. I know irl, Natascha had some form of feelings for him in the end, but that’s only because she was manipulated and abused by him for almost half of her life, and she’s a SAINT for forgiving him. I think they should later try again and make the film a bit more accurate, but the documentary was enough, and much better. However, the little girl did a great job, and the set for the cell was A PERFECT replica! I think the book would be better.
Yes agree...They should have chosen a guy more older(between 40-25) and an 18-19 year old as Nastascha since she was that age when she ran away,....And they should have used 3 different as Natascha...Not let the adult one play the 13 or 14 year old for example.....But they should look about similar........The one who plays Natascha in the end looks totally different from Natascha as Child....
There are no film in the world that has frightened me more than this film.
Are you kidding? This is one of the most boring films I have ever seen.
same
+rosekilledjack ...
same
ClankyRochet what i don't get is why didn't she like get and object and beat him with it or something to escape I mean she could have used so many objects when she was older
This is one of those movies that really hits you... the trailer doesn't do it justice in the slightest
The whole situation was just horrific and sad. And to think, how many others are out there in captivity - going unnoticed.
I've just watched this movie. It was so heartbreaking. :( Some scenes were really hard to watch. Also, the little girl's acting was so good. The older one's too.
.I am amazed how Natascha survived it all. She is a true hero♥
Her name is Vivianna
Thure Lindthard portrayed the kidnapper and he too did such a fantastic job! All acting performances in this movie were truly unreal and absolutely exceptional!
@@emarelds.3715 its not coming in netflix
Where is this movie?
@@theemperiumofkek1362 i don't think this is funny
I loved this movie so much, and it was so eye opening and sent such a good message. But, this trailer... Playing sweet romantic music over the scenes where he forces her to sleep in his bed, waltz with him, look like lovers in public etc. SICKENS ME. If you had no idea what the first half of this trailer was and had no idea of the plot, you would automatically assume this was a romance movie. It is NOT a romance movie. It's a true life story of a REAL girl documenting the horrors of forced imprisonment, daily horror, slavery, abuse and pedophilia. Showing scenes of her smiling at him with such a happy mood set is disgusting and completely ruins the message of the movie. Just my opinion, but being completely honest, I think we were all thinking this.
JammTheatre Geek ok
I think this too Bob. Great wording!! Keep it up
Unfortunately, that's the reality a number of people stuck with a narcissist live. Not all have the courage to make a run for it as she did
I mean it's pretty clear from the beginning she's kidnapped so I don't think you'd assume it's a romance movie....
Where did you watch it?
This is a true story i saw the documentary!!

Natascha is from Austria.

Just watched the film and I did shed a few tears at moments, its horrible what that girl went through and the way he mentally tortured her smh.

I haven’t watched it (Can’t watch it without having to pay for it) but even watching the trailer makes me cry and the fact that it’s based on a true story is even worse
The man in this movie who kidnapped her is a Danish good actor
THE MAN WAS SO AGGRESIVE TO HER OMG I CRIED BRO 😩😩
Interesting movie. Very intriguing and psychologically challenging at times. The soft music that played at times during the abuse made it all the more tragic. Would recommend.
I'm glad she escaped, some girls would just give up over the years.. stay strong wherever you are and no matter whats the situation you're in...there's always light after darkness!
I watched this movie yesterday, that was such a good film. My favourite since yesterday. That all story is heartbreaking and that let think us about our lives in the same time. I am recommeding this everyone! I want to add, that the actors were amazing. They played their role perfectly.
Indeed! I recommend it to everyone but not without mentioning that it is a tough movie to watch! Some scenes can truly shadder your heart.. but that has to do with the fantastic acting from the actors who portrayed Natascha and the kidnapper! Also kudos to the girl who played young Natascha! All 3 of them were so unbelievabely exceptional in their roles!
Dónde la veo
This film was heartbreaking, that poor little girl ❤️ great acting x
I saw this movie yesterday, its heartbreaking. Omg,what she went throu was unbeareble at times.I looked into this case, its shocking she still lives in that house. This is something you Never Ever go throu. Best wishes sweetheart.
She does not live in that house, but it was given to her as a compensation.
She lives in an apartment near by.
She purchased the house to ensure it wouldn't become a "theme park" for horror buffs and the doubters of her story.

I WAS ABOUT TO WATCH THE FILM. WHY WOULD YOU SPOIL THE ENDING !!!!!!
@@thecosgroves1801 you understand that its based on an actual event , so the ending was a given!
I couldn’t even watch a single 1 minute of the movie , heart breaks and feeling so sad 😞, also happy so much that she survived! words can’t describe how horrible this is .💔
I remember watching this a couple years ago and being so extremely sad knowing this happened to someone in real life! And to so many other people.
Im so sorry for you, i cant imagine the feeling, I hope youre all right now
It's always difficult to watch stories that depict real-life tragedies and hardships, especially when we know that many people have experienced similar situations. Empathy is a powerful emotion, and it's essential to remember that by being aware of others' struggles, we can work together to promote understanding, compassion, and positive change. Let's continue to support and uplift one another, and use our collective voice to make a difference in the world.
This was 8 years ago?! I’m 11 and I just saw my nana watching it so I decided I wanted too. Gosh I didn’t realise that!
No! Natascha was kidnapped 1998 an her captivity lasted 8 years.
i read her book, truly heartbreaking and definitly life-changing.
exactly!
My mother knew natascha as a child (they lived in the same place) she always tells me the story of when natascha was finally free and the kidnapper on the run that my aunt called my mom and my mom, my sister and me were just outside in a shopping center, when she called her and told her about it she took us home as fast as possible.
He wasn’t on the run, he shot himself when she escaped
@@poppyharlow7688 no, he was on the run before. He died on the train tracks. Apparently run over.
@@DerKl0wn He committed suicide because Natascha was free.
I thought this was a horror movie at first... damn..
Internet Dinosaur ho yeah yeah

What's worse is how millions of people reacted and tells her what she should feel..It's like people are guilty of always wanting power over another person. But this poor woman chooses to be powerless. The real monster here is the people wanting power over the other.
I am really proud of Thure Lindhardt, to make it in such a big an important movie.
Yo acabo de terminar el libro, me lo devore en cuanto me enganche con la historias; algunas partes fueron dificiles de leer por todo lo q pudo soportar...Es una gran inspiración
This film has really messed my head up. Its pretty sick that this kinda thing happens :(
This movie really gave me chills. I sometimes wonder what the actual kidnapping looked like vs this movie. Who wonders the same?
I’m wondering exactly the same but we can’t forget that to create this movie, the producers should read the book which was written by Natasha herself, to recreate everything on screen that she has written into her book like a diary. This movie is amazing yet so horrifying and sad.
there is in google his photo he is like a rakoon😂
Amazing movie. I still can't believe it. Such a hero. Wonderful actors.
👋
Good movie which gave even more insight in this bizzare kidnapping.
this is great movie. ive watch this many times.

Oh wow
I remember watching half of the movie in my TV but I fell asleep
I forgot it until now
Just came from TikTok
I'm about to go watch the moviee
I think the room's trailer (the movie) show more the reallity, this is so romanticized
This is the most disturbing kidnapping movie I’ve ever watched.
Watch Joseph Fritzl. It is more disturbing, I swear. He locked his daughter and raped her in the basement for 24 years. It also happened in Austria.
@Detective L it's a documentary. I think there's no movie adptation.
@Detective L they made a movie adaptation recently, its called the girl in the basement

god the memories of this movie has been in the back of my head because i watched it when i was like 9 in hbo and i finally found it again
i absolutly love thus movie. Thank god she survived
This movie really made my heart so heavy.
If you‘ve seen "Room" from 2015 with Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay and Sean Bridgers then I recommend it too! Its the same genre than 3096 days. A kidnapping story. Only these 2 films truly managed to make my heart race and made me shiver and made me LITURALLY PEE MY PANTS!!
Where can I watch this?

Along with "Room" from 2015 starring Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay and Sean Bridgers, 3096 Days is the only movie to date that liturally made my heart race and gave me cold chills!

I felt so bad when I watch this movie for the first time it's sad to see
I come from Upper Austria and where that happened is only 30 minutes away from me
Looks more like a romance-drama than a story about a kidnapping
VERY GOOD MOVIE....
the elizabitch fridge case makes this looks like childs play
Film is so sad,but this trailer is not like connecting to movie.
tf is this trailer portraying this as a romance film
I just got finish to read the book, tha was insane why I read it; now Im looking for watch documental and movies :O

I've just watched this movie, brilliant acting throughout and the most mentally affecting film i've seen, made my heart race especially at the end and gave me the chills
Where did you watch it? I can’t find it anywhere
I loved this movie so much
Sad movie indeed, makes it even more emotional since it's based on a true story.
The movie was good, my only suggestion is to characterize the kidnapper character abit more mentaly un-stabled or making him more sociopath behaving, just to spice the thrill Atmosphere abit.
In short, add more fiction to a true story. Okay
couldn't believe this is a true story.. so sad.
I am shocked..just watching it on Netflix channel...
Comment je pourrais regarde se film svp ?
Just finished watching this movie trailer doesn’t do it justice such a sad movie 😢if you are really sensitive don’t watch it don’t do it to yourself

eu disse que é um bom filme, pois foi mt bem produzido, mt bem argumentado, cara se vc ver a reportagem do cativeiro original eles fizeram igualzinho é mt realista o filme.
This is my worst nightamare, it really is.
I cried so bad during the movie😭 Truly terrifying that this is based on an actual thing that happened…
This movie is heartbreaking
The little girl looks just like Natasha, but an older version looks nothing like her. Too bad, hope the movie is still good.
Tiktok brings me here.
I’m reading the book and it’s excellent
I haven’t even watched the movie (Can’t find it anywhere without paying) but even watching the trailer brings tears to my eyes and the fact it’s based on a true story is even worse
Did they romanticize her kidnapping??? Are you for fucking real? How dare you portray it like a love story, you sell your movie with a trailer and this just looks like the victim falls in love with her abductor ..... DISGUSTING
Wouldn't it be even worse for them to portray something as untrue? Stockholm syndrome is a very, very real thing. She may not have been in love with him, but feeling love or an attachment is normal and it would be wrong to leave that out.
@@brain4154 You only find out years later (if you're lucky to get good therapy) that how you felt was really just a natural response (fawning) to protect yourself in very dire/abusive situations. It's a trauma response (freeze, fawn, flight, fight).
i watched this move and i didin't now that was True, and after i watch the interview with the real Natascha!!! That's horrible, But the film is amazing i just want that's not True! I recomend watch. ( Have words rongs because i am from Brasil, and i'm a child i'm learning speak inglish.)

Must see this movie!!
i didnt know they made a movie about this, still remember reading them newspapers in 2006, i hope this movie is better than that garbage "dungeon girl" who was inspired by the same event
the movie is really good, but the trailer is almost disrespectful when you know the hell she went through. it looks like a trailer for a love story
Where can I watch this movie pls?
Does this movie really show more insight on what happened to Natascha Kampusch? I've been reading a lot about it and watching a lot of documentations, but they all skip parts
Çok güzel. Duygulandırıcı...
seems good, but I'm a little confused. is that her kidnapper who she's dancing with and walking though the fields with at night? They seem more like lovers... just saying.
+Haileene Serenity exactly and i just saw her own account of the events and she mentioned no sexual abuse or intimacy happened at all. I guess it is exactly as she said in her interview at the end. People want to make things complicated, they want to hear pedophile and sexual abuse because they cannot imagine it was just something horrible and no sex involved. She even said by this, she felt abused all over again, by the media and whoever looks at her feeling sorry for her thinking things that really didn't happen to her.
***** I know right, it's just crazy how sexualized and hypocritical our society has become.
Kasparas Varžinskas i have no idea what you are talking about. Romanticize? Are you nuts?
+Yodi R well she was kidnapped at 10 years old and she did admit years later that she was raped. she prob didn't want to admit it at first cause she felt ashamed. and when you are that young and your kidnapper is the only source of life at the moment she starts to feel so type of Stockholm Syndrome. he took most of her young life.
I saw the movie Room a few weeks ago... I can't even begin to imagine...
