      I was 16 when I started to come to and start recalling thing after being drugged. I remember nothing except the odd flash here and there for 8 hours. I literally came to as they were doing a rape kit on me.

    Kaitie Dougles is such an incredible actor. Before this she played another survivor, Lisa McVey which she also did an amazing job it. Her emotions and expressions are on point!

    The fact that this movie showed so much courage from a 15 year old which one can never know unless they are on the same shoes. The exemplary movie where it depicts an incident does not define anything. Writing these with tears rolling down. More Power to anyone who has suffered or gone through this kind of trauma

    Katie Douglas as Kara in this movie. Katie Douglas also played in the movie "The Abduction of Lisa Mcvey" as Lisa Mcvey. I think this 2 movies have similar stories about kidnapping teenage girls and both are from real events. And i think Katie Douglas is great for these 2 main roles.

    The cops need to listen to the parents intuition !! I think they know their kids more than you do! If they say it’s out of the ordinary behaviour then it’s out of the ordinary!! This 24hrs before they’re missing has costed a lot of kids lives !! Just saying

    This movie brought me to tears. It's so incredibly hard to move on from something like this. The bravery and determination shown by Kara is simply undescribable. Yet, it's good to know that at least the strongest people can survive this sick world we live in.

    I searched for a whole nother movie bud damn this made me cry a-thousand times as someone who got mild sexual harassed multiple times and followed for a short amount of time this made me feel incredibly grateful that i could escape the situation and nothing worse happened it scares me but gives me the strength to open up i hate being victimized because i’m not just a victim i’m much more then that and the most important thing is i’m me and no one else will ever change that this movie shows grate values and is a genius creation that brings awareness in the correct ways how i love the insight it gives us thank you for uploading it to yt we are survivors not just victims

    Be careful when you’re out by yourself, be smart if you ever get kidnapped, look what’s around, get as much information about your kidnapper so that you tell the police. Most importantly, stay safe, and lastly always remember you ever get sexually assaulted or raped, fight back if you can, and don’t forget you have the right to say no.
    Be Safe out here kids and adults as well

      I’d rather go through all that trauma and stay ALIVE . Then say no and possibly be killed. I’d rather be known as the girl who lived and escaped then the girl who said no faught back and died. No offence to those girls at all I’m glad they stuck with their dignity till the end but that’s what can happen when you say no .. so yes it’s an option to fight back but unless ur 100% sure u can escape it’s really dangerous

    Sometimes you just need someone to tell you that you are brave and a survivor. Those words gave her courage to stay positive...She is a hero and very bright, under all the uncertainty and being scarec, she managed to keep calm and remember all the important details about her kidnapper.

      If you watched the interview the actual person who’s story this is based on said she was overwhelmed with this calm feeling, she needed to be calm to escape, she needed to be calm to listen. Otherwise it would’ve gone sideways, but I feel bad for her at the end. She didn’t deserve that.

    That movie made me cry,but at the same time,amazed how she noticed her suroundings at his home,asked him questions to get to know things about him,the way she held her composure during her captive,its something a parent might want to discuss with their children. Not to scare them,but to help them survive. This movie was so sad😪 but at the same time educational to not only me,and hopefully many others out there! she was a a fantastic young actress!

    Even down to how you dont know if she is escaping or imagineing it this is definitely a very good example of a true story and how kidnapping & sexual assult or even just assult can happen so quickly and you could be just collecting the post or packing the car with suitcases somebody could pull up with a gun and take you this world is dangerous be careful and stay b safe

    This is so scary and I’m not allowed to watch this kinda stuff but I think it’s good that I did because it really taught me more about being safe because now I know that no matter how nice a person may seem never, approach them and be sure to keep conversation as short as possible. People might seem totally normal and just need you to hold a paper for them but then seconds later you realize it was a trap and your in danger. Thank you so much for putting this here so it’s free because otherwise I couldn’t watch it and be able to learn from it :)

    My husband and I just watched this shocking story. My word.
    We both had tears in our eyes at the end.
    The acting was excellent from the girl....my word - that people can do this is just unbelievable. We all think we are invincible.....or untouchable by things like this

    To anyone scared of this happening, someone approaching you with a gun and trying to get you in a vehicle. Being shot is better than being in that vehicle. Chances are they're bluffing, start screaming for help immediately

      @charlottehook7387 Yes, don't let them take you to the 2nd location. Your best chance to escape is right there and then. It's unlikely they will kill you with people around, they want you on your own. If they do kill you, what was waiting for you (probably in their basement) is a fate worse than death.

    The real Kara is a very strong willed person, not easily understood. She has an iron grip on her emotions and see life in a very analytical and non emotional way. This made her a true survivor.

    When this guy ended his own life so abruptly any chance of repentance may have died with him. I can’t of course know that for sure. One thing I do know however we all have an eternal soul and if we don’t pray we stray.

      When I think of people, I think of eternal souls. Whilst a person is alive there’s always a chance of repentance. But when a person dies (by whatever means) the chance for repentance is over. That’s why I pray daily for sinners/souls i. e the living and deceased. We all need special graces to live as we ought.

    the actors did it perfect. its sad that its based on a true story, she had to be very scared when this happened, but that's a very, very good story. i think it will teach some people a lesson. i highly recommend watching this, it was worth watching

    Traumatic 😳😳 this makes me scared, you can’t trust anybody these days, and the world gets worse and more dangerous every single day. It’s sick. The fact this is a true story, makes things even worse 😢 stay safe out there and never say your home alone .

    This excellent movie has left me with a big internal debate: are we raising victims? Cara was no victim, she was a survivor, but still more than that. She has left me with a lot of questions that I need to ask and answer myself.

    I came here after seeing her story told by Ray William Johnson on tiktok and finding her on the same platform. Her story is incredible. My dad was shot in the face by a man he allowed to stay with him for a few days to help him out. That man also murdered his girlfriend in my dad’s house. He survived but has passed for other reasons two years later and the man who did it unalived himself which was a relief to our family as we didn’t want to see dad go through the court process. He was so traumatised by it all.
