    I hate to hear the of the quality issues because this certainly tics all the boxes needed for a fully functioning non official switch controller. Its a tough spot to be as a consumer, I can't justify buying the official Nintendo Pro controller at $70 when it will just get stick drift eventually but I expect its quality will be great otherwise. Its a rock and a hard place for sure. It is quite odd that its so difficult for 3rd party switch controller makers can't seem to get the "home button wake" and NFC/Amiibo functionality into them. I might try picking one up from target and see if its decent enough to use. I had a wireless power A switch controller I loved (it had wake up function but no amiibo function though) but its gotten stick drift and needs to be replaced, so thats why I'm looking. Thanks for making this video to give us all the details!

    I think you can't just switch out the buttons A/B and X/Y, because the shape underneath is a little different. I do play on PC mostly, and I saw Gulikit sell a seperate button set (NS32) with the letters in PC/XBOX configuration.
    Thanks for the review. I just stumbeld upon the Zen Pro when looking for the difference in USB dongles, but it's good to know they are the same as the KingKong Pro and what their strenghts and weaknesses are.

    Mobapad M6 HD is the pinnacle of joycon, and their M9 HD is the pro controller version. HD Rumble, NFC, gyro, rear mappable buttons, all of it. And the M6 HD has the best d-pad Ive ever used. Nailed 6 Zangief Pile Drivers in a row in Ultra Street Fighter II. Dpad is swappable with a rocker dpad. I LOVE it. I also have a Gulikit KK3 Max controller on the way, so Ill see how it compares.

    I would like to see you test it with the xb brook, I am seriously thinking about getting that so I don't have to have the other controller plugged in. But make sure you take the battery out if you are using the name brand adapter of the controller. The Xbox controller keeps going to sleep and that's why it disconnects.

    The Blue one I got from Target had squeaky buttons, returned for a Black one and ended up being a great Switch Pro controller. Goku adapter requires hard wired Xbox/PS controller. I have a Skull n Co Bt adapter plugged into my Xbox controller for headset and or speaker use. Hard wired controller cannot do both and will require an additional controller with a similar setup.

    I heard that the quality control isn't great for this controller. I'm interested in getting this controller, but that concerns me. How has anyone's experience here been with this controller? Do the buttons stick? Is there lag in gameplay? Are the analog sticks centered/off centered? Is the quality of this controller close to that of the Nintendo Pro controller? How is it in long term use? Sorry, I've never bought a 3rd party controller before, and this one draws my interest.

    • @therandomencounter
      @therandomencounter  Год назад +2

      So I ended up returning the controller because it was taking to long to get the new face button switches. The quality feels sturdy but the actually quality control is a totally different thing. It seems that sticky buttons is common on this controller. I may end up buying another one later on. Target has a 14 day return policy so you can always buy one and swap it out if it is giving you issues. I personally would buy the 8bitdo Ulitmate Bluetooth controller.

      @@therandomencounter Can you speak on your experience comparing the 8BitDo Ultimate vs KingKongPro2/Zen in terms of overall build and quality using it on the Switch and PC?

    • @therandomencounter
      @therandomencounter  Год назад +4

      8bitdo Ultimate is heavier and the plastic is similar to what's used on a Xbox Series controller. Build quality is really good and nothing feels cheap. The Zen Pro controller is shaped like a Xbox Series controller and is build solid with nice metal rings around the thumbsticks that make it glide. The face buttons were the only thing I had issues with. The were sticky and felt to mushy. The triggers and everything else were solid. It's also very light which might make some people think it's cheap. Hope this helps!

    I'm sorry I had to come back and share this. I don't pluck the controller out the front and it was working without it being plugged in. 😳
    I never did a update to the controller or the adapter that you can buy for it, because I have a MacBook pro m1 that I don't run Windows on or have an emulation system for Windows yet. And it never disconnected not once. Maybe it memorized it after I took the battery out of the original Xbox controller figuring it won't go asleep and then I unplugged it hooking a USB hard drive in it for a short period of time trying to hook up a bing camera hard drive adapter and then unplugged it and accidentally touched my controller and it was still working and I switch games and it was still working and never disconnected Just like when I was playing the controller with the battery taken out. Maybe it had to learn it after a while I don't know. But I know it's all RUclipsrs said the controller must be plugged in
