Dan, The hood looks amazing! I would try and match the rest of the car to look like the hood if you can still get it done under a budget, my two cents worth... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to yours!!!
My wife saw me watching you paint your car. She said, "he is doing what? Why is he doing that way? You wouldn't do it that way." 😂. Love you channel and your personality. Have a Merry Christmas!
The Ventura is my favorite low budget you did what most people’s budget will allow, I especially love you put a six cylinder three speed manual in it no one does that don’t change a thing it looks great
Nothing wrong with rattle can on an old rig. Lots of guys act like every classic car needs an immaculate paint job. Great thing about rattle paint is it’s cheap, readily available and you can use it as needed anywhere and have touch up paint anytime you need it. I’ve rolled on enamel and rattle canned. Better than rusting or rotting somewhere. 👍👍
Perfect! My favorite ride was a "rat rod" '87 S10 pickup done with $40 worth of W-mart rattle can black primer. Enjoyed DRIVING that rather than washing, buffing and waxing. Big block 427 Mercruiser out of a boat tossed under the hood DID account for some of the fun👍👍
If the roof doesn't have a hole in it now and you don't do anything to it it will have a hole in it shortly. Rust never sleeps and it will continue to eat the roof until it is gone or you do something about it. It needs some paint as do the other exposed portions of the car.
My pride and joy is a 74 Ventura my grandmother left me when she passed away. Hatch I speak for Pontiaddicts admitting if you ask for a Pontiac 350 good chance you'll get it free. Sorry you gotta use the 6 in a row ready to go in a chevy truck project.
Love the channel! I love the Venturas because they are rare! I'm OK with the spray cans. But to be honest it wouldn't have taken more than a couple of weeks to DA the whole car and prime the whole car and spray it all one color over prime. I know it's a budget job but to me that car deserved more. P.S. I hate patina. Merry Christmas to you and your buddy Mike and your families!
I gotta agree, if I’m going to something like that I’m going all the way. But regardless it’s his ride not ours. And paint is quite expensive when done professionally 😬.
I have to commend you on your hard work and dedication to getting these cars that are ultimately destined for the scrap yard and getting them running and driving again. The cars that you have put back on the road can be enjoyed not only by you and your family but many others who have fond memories of them on the road many years ago. They can be improved on and still be enjoyed while making improvements instead of being left to rot behind a shed or in a storage unit. Keep doing what you’re doing saving these vehicles. I am proud of your hard work. Merry Christmas!
I think painting the whole car, then sanding it down would’ve looked better. But that’s coming from a shiny paint OCD kinda guy, so take that with a grain of salt! lol
Gotta say, not a fan of the "patina" look. All I see is rust. Patina isn't rust. Patina is wear and evidence of use. Rust is evidence of neglect. It's great that it's all back together and running though. I think more millennial patina gys should embrace the $300 1985 MAACO paint job look. Orange peel > Rust All that being said, paint is just paint and can be fixed at any time.
I would have like to see it fully rattle can painted, even though the body work isn’t perfect would still be a nice car. That being said, it’s your car, if you like it, to hell with me and what everyone else thinks
SprayMax paint is awesome and very forgiving, I use it so much I buy cases of the 2K clear, I use it for engines, large panels and motorcycle restorations
I think it turned out awesome, I love it I often tell people I grew up in the 70s and back then it had to be Hot Rod magazine quality or it wasn't respected. You guys nowadays are doing cars that the average guy with limited skills and limited budget can do and be proud of. Keep up the good work
There is nothing wrong for you to make it the way you like it . There ain’t another 1 like it anywhere .Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.

Patina keeps rust that grows later. It's a cop out for beauty.
It's great that you have put it back together and almost ready for the road! If it was me I would get one more can of paint and spray the roof without pre sanding it. I would lay the most of the prodic at the top of the quarters and around the perimeter and just mist it over the middle. then I would wet sand it tell the rust comes through and most of the orange is gone. I would think it would match a lot better. But at the end of the day, it's your car and you are doing a great job!! My first car is a 68 nova ss I restored with my dad 18 years ago and it's the same collar orange but with black hood and trunk stripes, i drive it all the time tell the snow shows up each year.
COULDNT GET NO CLOSER TO A NOVA THAN THE POMTIAC VENTURA, MY RUNNING GEAR IN MY 68 CHEVY P.UP COME OUT OF ONE ! ( 85 ) NOT BUT A 305 BUT IT RUNS GREAT ! LOOKING GOOD ! 😁👍
You should run the buffer over the whole car now. I did that on my 64 galaxie and it turned out awesome for shitty old paint. I dig ratty muscle cars! For those upset with the paintjob, just remember. He did put a 250 inline 6 in the car.
I like what you do to these cars, get them mechanically sound and drive them. I personally don't see the fun in a complete restoration that takes years and too much money, only to then have it sit because the weather dictates your use of it. Shiny cars are no fun. Keep doing you!
It does need some more orange, especially on the roof ! But thats just my opinion ! Lol ! You are doing a great job on the car. That car would look really Awesome if it looked and shined just like the hood does. Back in the day I was a broke dude . Driving a 72 nova with a ventura front clip on it. All my friends thought it was cool. I still wish that I had it.
I was kind of excited to see it shiny and in its original color, but you did a great job on it regardless. That’s tough to do, I have a patina 66 olds you can see on my Chanel, I think you should have done the roof to match, keep it sealed at least right, good vid!
I hoped you would just make it all in 1 Color but you did not and went for the fake Patina 😢 I do not get it, why do all this work, just put the spray max epoxy primer on it. Then a nice color(s) of your choice and clear coat it heavily. After that a good cut and polish, works so nice. I did this myself several times and everyone thinks it is a professional job and go crazy when I say it’s done with rattle cans.
Love it! Totally get your vision and what you’re going for. Especially like you said, it’s either in the budget or not, we’re all just here for the ride anyway! 🍻
What you still could do is prep it a little more go to a maaco and what you will have in paint see if you can get a close collor match they will prep it final and let them paint it cheap I think they have some specials for about 200 bucks plus a warranty I remember car craft has a article on on a budget how you can get a decent paint job if you prep it yourself you can still do it and would make a good video!
Patina is patina ....manufactured patina just doesn't look right. The spray can paint looked good...didn't have to be perfect and the roof not painted is not a good idea.Paint doesnt have to be perfect the car looked fine orange now not so good. Also I am sure that you have a buddy that could have helped you with the paint. Quit making every car patina...
Good job...nice job.. I'm not sure why you bought a single stage in a can..get enough paint whole car...those cans must be how much$50? Cmon let's hit it again and respray it with some quantity you can be sure all of the colour matches....and make a box fan with furnace filters..get some air movement pulling paint across car..and exhaust outside..please exhaust outside...please
You nailed it when you said " makes zero sense ... ". That said, it doesn't have to. Not to me anyway. Getting it back on the road is the important part, the rest is in the eyes of the beholder. That also said ... I want to say the roof, fender, and door look horrible ... but that's not really accurate ... they fit the overall theme, but just clash too much with the rest of the car. Their level of " patina " ( I really despise that word ) is too far from the rest of the car. In the end, it's up to you and what makes you happy, but you did ask for opinions.
Make the roof look more like the hood. That's just too much rust patina on the roof. that roof won't last long looking like that before it rust through.
Dude you gotta paint the roof and the hood and fender I love it but the car deserves it
Looks awesome bud good job !!! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well 😊
It’s your car!! Do what you like! I’d like to see 70 Nova get some love
Dan, The hood looks amazing! I would try and match the rest of the car to look like the hood if you can still get it done under a budget, my two cents worth... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to yours!!!
It looks 100 times better
My wife saw me watching you paint your car. She said, "he is doing what? Why is he doing that way? You wouldn't do it that way." 😂. Love you channel and your personality. Have a Merry Christmas!
It turned out pretty damn cool! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Its a car again! Congrats
The paint looks great. But i agree that you should paint the rest of the vehicle to keep the rust at bay.
Yeah nothing like spending 5 grand on a paint job only to get scratched..
@ right!
Nothing like a solid driver. It looks great. Look into ames performance for all your pontiac parts. Keep doing what your doing.
You should paint the rest of the car. The parts that you painted look really good.
Love the petina look!!!

@@five-oonsene545 that VGG clear looks pretty sweet and I would think seal a bare/patina spot if it was properly prepped
It's looking good all back together. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
I understand wanting to keep patina but damn it looked good for a single stage rattle can job before you sanded it down. Merry Christmas

It looked pretty good out of the can, I’m pretty surprised
Love it🤘 paint is stupid expensive for the average guy so this is a damn good alternative.
Like you i love ratty novas, so keep on keeping on!
Gotta admit I didn't get on board with your vision at first but I'm diggin' what I'm seeing from here...nice job👍
Looking awesome Merry Christmas to y'all
You have inspired me to look for a 68-72 nova.
I think painting the whole car, then sanding it down would’ve looked better. But that’s coming from a shiny paint OCD kinda guy, so take that with a grain of salt! lol

Pretty sick man❤
Love it bro, car looks sweet as hell. Love your videos
That’s not a machete that happens to be a icing spreader for cakes
Please paint the whole car then dull the paint
I would definitely drive it! Good job, and enjoy the videos! Look forward to the next. Happy Holidays!
I will quote my father " Ya done did good, kid"
It looks good and its the way you want it. thats all that matters. Merry Christmas right back at cha!!
I think it turned out awesome, I love it

merry x-mass and where are you going to put this one
I had a '73 Nova, I believe it was called "Competition Orange" Whatever it was, it was really pretty...
Awesome job brother bringing it back to the road,is what it deserves, and Merry Christmas from my family to yours also.
There is nothing wrong for you to make it the way you like it . There ain’t another 1 like it anywhere .Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
Patina keeps rust that grows later. It's a cop out for beauty.
I would have liked it all one rattle can new color, BUT it does look cool and it’s unique and yours which is all that matters!
It's great that you have put it back together and almost ready for the road! If it was me I would get one more can of paint and spray the roof without pre sanding it. Looks good

hey brother! paint turned out ok 👌 we knew going in that you were not aiming for perfection so with that said i like its look
bless you and the family happy holidays
The Krylon Kid strikes again!!! Lots of waves in the body. If it was blue it would look like the ocean.
I like what you do to these cars, get them mechanically sound and drive them. I personally don't see the fun in a complete restoration that takes years and too much money, only to then have it sit because the weather dictates your use of it. Shiny cars are no fun. Keep doing you!
Not my thing, after all that work I’d have just painted it with a mat finish, all one color. Still, you saved one👍🏻
I like it, good job
Merry christmas !
From France 🇨🇵
It does need some more orange, especially on the roof ! But thats just my opinion ! Lol ! You are doing a great job on the car. Not my preference and not my car , good job on getting it back on the road , I can count on 1 hand how many venturas I have seen
I was kind of excited to see it shiny and in its original color, but you did a great job on it regardless. That’s tough to do, I have a patina 66 olds you can see on my Chanel, I think you should have done the roof to match, keep it sealed at least right, good vid!
Hey who does the music at the end of the video? Thanks and marry Christmas
I hoped you would just make it all in 1 Color but you did not and went for the fake Patina 😢

Looks worlds better.
looks great

Merry Christmas!

You should add a comfort zone garage heater in your garage
I HATE PATENA!!!
I dig it!
Spray max, super quality ! German quality....
I sell this mark....in France 🇨🇵 !
I work for auto distribution, is't the same o'reilly...in US !
Merry Christmas.
All it's missing is a reef on the front grill👍
cool
What you still could do is prep it a little more go to a maaco and what you will have in paint see if you can get a close collor match they will prep it final and let them paint it cheap I think they have some specials for about 200 bucks plus a warranty I remember car craft has a article on on a budget how you can get a decent paint job if you prep it yourself you can still do it and would make a good video!
Nope!
That's a crazy tool.That would be good for a house not a car!😮
Patina is patina ....manufactured patina just doesn't look right. The spray can paint looked good...didn't have to be perfect and the roof not painted is not a good idea.Paint doesnt have to be perfect the car looked fine orange now not so good. I will never pay for special color mix in an arisal again. It didn't match and I found a closer match on the shelf at the hardware store
Why orange?
Good job...nice job..
I'm not sure why you bought a single stage in a can..get enough paint whole car...those cans must be how much$50?
Cmon let's hit it again and respray it with some quantity you can be sure all of the colour matches....and make a box fan with furnace filters..get some air movement pulling paint across car..and exhaust outside..please exhaust outside...please
Paints good need to do something with the roof. Otherwise it’s a great car !!!!
Should of used a primer sealer several coats and wet sand and wet sand that will hide alot of mistakes
I love the dull finish, but I'd have done it all over. But it ain't my car!!!
Killer job on the paint looking like a legit survivor

good job but i would paint the roof and door also ... now its a half job it looks like,,
Make the roof look more like the hood. That's just too much rust patina on the roof. that roof won't last long looking like that before it rust through.
As you said -makes zero sense
the paint sucks, total disappointment, you had a clean pallet
I went to your Chanel to see the paint job you would have done if it was yours, but you didn’t post the paint job you did. 🤔
Go build your own car.
Shit up Tim
And this… this is the reason why the patina movement is so popular.
Frickin awesome video. That car looks amazing brother
