Dan, Great idea using the subframe for an engine test bench, it turned out sweet! Thanks for the huge shout out and am happy to hear you can use the parts off my Nova.
Great video.Keep up the good work.I love the contact.I love it when you bring the kids into it. I had several nova,s in my pass. Iam 73yrs. Young now. I want one, can't believe that you have three of them.. you did real good in your builds keep it going. Thanks
I love the engine stand! The only down side is how much room it takes up. Other than that I love that it’s a nova sub frame and that you gave it a purpose other than just rotting away. 👍👍
I like repurposing things too. I have a garage and a shed FULL of things I've aquired over the years. This spring I've told the wife we're having a lawn sale. I like that you have your kids helping, I got back into the hobby after I had a physical setback a couple years back. Now, God willing, there's no stopping me! Great video.
You make me realize how I Missed the boat w/ my son. You always do your projects around your family and it’s awesome. My son Loves cars but he can pull a wrench to save his life and that’s my fault .
Don’t ever give up brother.. I am so grateful for the relationship that I have with my son and I am learning things from him now..keep watching, more to come
Saginaw's are really good trans, that's why most dirt trk'ers run three tres speed's. cast iron is heavier but stronger than aluminum/alloy and 4 spd's are good if rebuilt rite. . Super T Ten 10's are also good and Muncie's are kinda weak.. depending on Torque rating. I prefer my T-5 WC behind my 327ci. Over-drv yeah..kick's butt.
Awesome stand bud but i would of put the gauges on the driver side cause the throttle is on that side when you start it you’ll want to pump the throttle right in front of you instead of reaching over 😊
Very cool engine stand, but why didn't you finish it? It still needs a radiator, battery platform and a fuel cell. I think you gave the total before you were done spending?😁 Then there are options like electric fans for the radiator you should of got at the junkyard while you were there. And oil pressure gauge and a temp gauge.🤷 Can't wait to see the finished engine stand in part 2.😎👍
Yea I’ve got the gauges and switches in that panel. I already have the radiator from the small block parts score I had a few months back. For a battery platform I was just gonna use the flat portion of the frame rail in front of the control board to bolt it down. We do not have electric fans for it yet and probably won’t by the time we run the first engine in it. But I have a switch panel with a few additional accessory switches so we can add stuff like electric fans, electric water pump, etc, etc later on if we want to.
@@hatchsrecreationalengineer1997 Ok but how are you going to mount the radiator and fuel cell? Also, you didn't mention if you made sure the legs are tall enough for the cherry picker to be able to roll under it for loading and unloading engines. I really like that you used that subframe for your engine stand, it has just about all of the GM engines covered. All you need is the different frame pads for each engine family. NOVA = Nova, Omega, Ventura, Apollo Which is Chevy, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Buick. You really need one of each or 2 of each so you can have a small block and big block version of each.(Except Oldsmobile because those are the same engine platform except there is a short and tall deck version and Pontiac is the same with a couple short deck version engines.) To bad there wasn't a Cadillac version but unfortunately there's no "C" in Nova.😎👍
Good care pkg for the move what you need is Mopar parts ther more costly but good price on all the parts the seats for duster are worth what you paid that parts corner will always come in handy trust me
Looks like you were using POR15, I just watched a video by Repair Geek that changed my opinions on POR. Overpriced and it doesn’t perform compared to other products.
Yes it was POR 15. I actually had it leftover from a project a long time ago. For this particular project I’m not crazy concerned with it. It was just easier for my kids to apply then spray paint.
Would you sell me the Ventura ? I had a 72 Pontiac Ventura ll & when I went down to work at Disney world in 1991 my 72 Pontiac Ventura ll was stolen. It was a hand me down from my grandparents. I'm looking for a 1970-73 Pontiac Ventura ll/ Ventura.

Love your content ❤
Dan, I actually have a boogered but fixable hurst shifter I bought for my Ventura that would work good for that 4 speed that I don't necessarily need.

The 360 is looking a lot better with all the trash of it
I ended up putting urathane wheels on my Amazon run stand. I have had problems with the pneumatic tires from HF.

Wow I’m looking high and low for a subframe for our 74 nova and I can’t find anything. You find one cheap and build a run stand 😂.
Wait til that thing gets finished with your shins & ankles? 😂😂😂
I go in the garage because of the family I don’t want him out there with me😂
