As far as this song being a masterpiece it is. Bands and songs are not measured in greatness by how many chords are in their songs, but by their impact on music. If every Oasis song had only 3 chords in it it wouldn't matter, because they are legends. If you don't remember the 90's, they were all over the charts. Oasis, 3 chords; Oasis, rock icons and legends.
Imagine an artist painting a picture but only being given 3 colours to use. Tougher to paint a masterpiece with less colours. Once you view songwriting like this you appreciate it's actually tougher to write a great song with only 3 chords. You have less options than someone using 10 chords.
Everyone says this gig is a shit because of Stop Crying Your Heart Out, but people doesn't even listen to this or other songs played on this gig. One of the best live versions of Columbia by far!!!

i reeckon the reason why he has that distinctive voice is becasue of the Beatles song Rain on the past masters album. Listen to the way John holds the notes in the way he sings. Liam is doing exactly that.

Any of Oasis' songs that require high notes are done by Noel, often at the same time as Liam during the chorus so it just comes out as one big Gallagher voice of greatness. If you listen carefully to the record there are two voices during the chorus. Sorry to sound like a smart arse but I've just listened to a lot of Oasis!

I was at this gig and the reason it got slated wasn't because they were shit. It was because they took too long between each song. They were headlining Glastonbury and just couldn't be arsed to play. When they were playing they were good. But each song had like a 5 minute gap in the middle.
