Yup, a decent but pretty mediocre song on the album whereas here it’s got groove and it’s a real rocker. Liam’s voice is absolutely on point here, it’s aggressive but clear and absolutely in tune.
Most people and critics say, oh, bere here now was no good compared to their earlier stuff (DM, WTSMG), thinking they're real fucking smart. Only coz it didn't have songs like Live Forever or Wonderwall on it. But honestly, when I'm driving in my car and the sun is out and I wanna have a good time, I ALWAYS reach for Be Here Now. Not to mention that '97 was probably Oasis' greatest live tour...
The only way I disagree with you is that Dont Go Away and Stand By Me were both every bit as good as Wonderwall, but other than that completely agree its f*cking brilliant
It's actually on the decline here but still world class. And yeah probably the best version of this song ever with the vocal inflections and added words.
@@thelad789 I always thought be here now was already the end of Liam's best vocal era but the more I look at it now he still absolutely owned it here it's just good voice sounds different
Awakened Saxon why? Liam’s just released a fuckin mad album and we’re experiencing it again - his last tour was amazing, we might not have Oasis but we can still have LG! It’s not so bad!
i've just left secondary school, and while i am jealous of your generation Liam is doing a fuckin class job keeping the oasis legacy going. Noel is a boring old tart for us youngins...
@@TheMusicalElitistI’m from Cardiff City and and me and my fellow Cardiffians refer to going out in the city as “let’s go town” we never say “let’s go city centre” just doesn’t feel right
Love how Noel comes on and says "Good evening, Town". NO-ONE in Manchester refers to it as Manchester City Centre, it's known only as Town to the locals.
That’s the same everywhere, I live in Birmingham but no one says they’re going to city centre, we just say we’re going into town and that’s why I love England 🏴
You Bet Ya.👍. I saw them at Loch Lomond and before that at ingilston exhibition centre in January 96 at the end of DM tour but in September 1997 i travelled up to Aberdeen for the BHN concert which was absolutely outstanding. It’s actually been said in interviews with Noel & Alan McGee that that show was in the top 5 shows he’d witnessed Oasis play. It was just Insane with limbs & people fainting everywhere. It was so great that people just lost their minds for the 2 hours. The sound was mega loud & Liam was on another level with his vocals. Just an incredible experience. Best time I saw them was during this tour. ✌️👍✌️
What baffles me is how powerful his voice is this night compared to the rest of the Be Here Now tour yet this was in December. Well after it started. I can't find another performance with the same amount of power.
Their Mum was there that night, so maybe he gave it just a bit more. Watch Fade In Out from this gig where he screams MAMA at the beginning. Gotta love two lads from working class no one ever escapes to become the biggest band in the world...a meteorite story to do their Mum proud.
Because its the first perfomance of that tour. So his voice was rested and recovered. After this night it went to partying, traveling and touring nonstop- fucks with his voice + the throat disease wich he has. You can clearly hear how tired his voice is later on this very same night, when they play D'you know what i mean. He's shouting and giving it everything he got, wich is fucking stupid in the long run, but its fucking badass. Its Liam.
I've been fortunate enough to see Oasis live 6 times including at Radio City Garden Theater, New York City, in front row. Trust me, Liam looked straight at me, came to me and said hello, cheers! Their live performances are in a class of their own. The power of their music is so strong that the crowd can't stop singing and jumping.
Still blows me away...what an opener this was, me and half my family were on the front row..you could almost feel the roof come off Gmex...enough said..
All the bad press be here now got was completly unwarranted . What a great album. Remember the first time I got this album when it was released .and when do yer kno what I mean was released as a single , my god what great times . Bought it on tape and just wow what a great single . Then magic pie , my big mouth and all around the world . Not to mention the rest of the songs . They Basically shaped the 90s for me .
Was at this gig, crush in mosh pit was unreal, had to move back after couple of songs, then saw my cousin get pulled out of the front as she was struggling in the heat of the hall but was thankfully ok 👍
Because it makes songs like magic pie and it’s getting better man 7 min long And it’s over produced And it lacks class that wtsmg has Be here now is a great tune though
Be Here Now has such an unbridled spirit, its heart is totally in the right place. I just wish it were mixed differently. The demos of the songs were supposedly superior, and after listening to Fade In/Out (the 1 song which WAS largely based on its demo), I have to concur that it sounds far more organic than much of the rest of the album. The songs are fantastic, but you can tell the pressure was bearing on the band; walls were cracking and they were spreading themselves thin at times. Still a great album. 1997 was my favorite year EVER.
Great little first song for an album this. The intro has suspense. Although I know it was half way in the album. If they took out all around the world at the end, magic pie, girl in the dirty shirt, i think i hope i know. And put in Stay Young, Aquiesce, Listen up. They could have possibly sneaked another awarded winning album in!
Dyou know what i mean? my big mouth, i hope, i think, i know, Its getting better man All around the world Be here now Stand by me Fade in out ,............ All of these songs of bhn album are superb
This is better than the album version in my opinion, a real aggressive performance from Liam, one of there best gigs this.
Gotta agree
Yeeessss
Overproduced on the album
correct

One of my fav albums of all time to be fair. Fuck the critics
I could not possibly agree with you more.
Be Here Now was the best of the lot... mainly cause it was thrown together...all the best tunes, albums are made that way
BHN is absolutely FANTASTIC
The only way I disagree with you is that Dont Go Away and Stand By Me were both every bit as good as Wonderwall, but other than that completely agree its f*cking brilliant
Power in that voice is ridiculous.

Liam's delivery of that song is absolutely fuckin mega..

Second only to the Beatles but otherwise absolutely 💯%👌
You never heard of The Beatles so your opinion is irrelevant
Would give my left ball to have seen this live, PRIME oasis
Me too, and with no hesitation
I was, the crowd was in frenzied ecstasy. This one, Maine Road 2nd night, Etihad, 3 outstanding nights
I did 😊
Was also at the Glasgow one, when the walked off, and the place rioted
This song is good when sober. But when you are drunk or stoned you can feel the rock'n'roll energy even more!
Agreed !
Not wrong sir
Spot on
Not kidding…
No way! Music sounds better under the influence of drugs? Unthinkable!
Need this worked into the setlist for the 2025 reunion. Absolute banger
I hope so mate
As much as I’d love it, they’ll probably open up with one of Hello, Columbia, or Acquiesce
If you are reading this you have fantastic taste in music 👌🏻🤘🏻
I know
What an opener . Attitude , swagger , Liams voice, totally brilliant !
do you prefer this one as an opener or the swamp song?
I think their equally badass
@casperoomen9111 swamp song or fuckin in the bushes as liams walk on
C'mon u bastards.....👏🍀
And that's how you start a concert
"Good evening, town!" Always gives me a laugh.
Hello, Texas!
That’s because in English cities people do not call the center of the city “city center” but “town”

Opening song of a concert and the whole joint is jumping out of their clothes by 1:30. There will never be another Oasis, ever.
Fun fact; the man who opens the door was the director for the lights and nic-name was bear!
Love how Noel comes on and says "Good evening, Town". NO-ONE in Manchester refers to it as Manchester City Centre, it's known only as Town to the locals.

Same here in Newcastle
Same in glasgow
Same as derby
Same as swansea
Colombian marching powder was at all time peak level sales during the making of this album and tour.
Such an underrated tune
Should be a live album
The power in this performance is just incredible. When Noel's guitar starts humming at 1:22 is just mind blowing.
'Are ya Mad Fer It? Are ya?'
Best opener in Oasis history, such an underrated tune and such a shame in the latter years they didn’t open up with it or play it live much at all
I'm still blasting this song in the car in 2024.
Me too
gonna crank this up to maximum volume now... madferit.
fantastic performance by Liam!!
"sing a song for me, one from let it be" oh genius!!

Who needs cociane to feel on top of the world when you have Oasis

The power in those vocals are second to none. Id love him to play this at Knebworth next year!
Knebworth will be painfull
