@@daviddevlin2462 agree. Oasis was lightening in a bottle '94-'97. Not slagging off on the catalog or tours after, but the gigs did not have the same intensity and integrity after GMex '97.
The Be Here Now era was the bands live peak in my opinion. You look at any live video of 97/98 era oasis and there is something extra ballsy about there performances. It's face meltingly loud. They were on a different planet then.
Chris Knight Love it. Liam calls Mama at the beginning. Noel and Liam’s single working Mom was there to witness two lads from a town no one ever gets out of to become the biggest rock band in the world in less than 2 years. A meteorite story!

YES. YES. Put, fuckin perfectly. These were the last great hope for the working class. Now, sold down the river. Blair got in, convinced working class children UP AND DOWN the nation to fight in an illegal war. Many died. Those who made it back, left in destitution. Whilst his party opened the doors. And we have what he have today. People try to tell me it's progress. Haha.
Personally, I think BE HERE NOW was a personal celebration between the members at the time. They'd conquered their home country, flipped off American (well, Liam did) Sold out Knebworth. Played around the world, became millionaires and sealed their place in Rock n Roll history! I mean... What kind of album did you THINK they were going to make? It could only have ever been this.
There best album. There was a backlash against them. Critics panned it. Mostly for there attitude. They didn't kiss ass. No matter what album they would of put out they were going to get crushed by the media. 9 million sold
+James Gormley Exactly, BHN is a rock n' roll party from start to finish... it's the best (and LAST) rock n' roll album that's worth even talking about... the LG voice, NG guitar, bonehead's rythm... end of an era.
Couldn't agree more. This my favourite track off the album. A stripped back remix that is heavy on bass, drums and a tuned down guitar providing extra low range to compliment Noel's guitar work is what's required for this song.
+mcshadypies They couldn't have done that. They Never played "I Hope, I Think, I Know" or "The Girl In The Dirty Shirt" live...ever! Every other song was done, but those two.
Album version great too. I think live version and studio it's two different songs. Would be great if they put some bonus live version of this song on Be Here Now.
he gives himself credit as a songwriter. he says he is an average guitarist. maybe he is not very technical but he is more than average. He created great solos and he never fails a note, really maybe 3/4 mistakes in over 20 yrs ;)
