@@Strokwor Personally for me it's Wolverhampton Civic Hall 94, Live By The Sea 95, Chicago Metro 94! I'd Love an early version with the sound effects added to them 3 I mentioned!
Haha, I was just left to this one after having just watched it live at Glastonbury, 2004 & saw your recommendation...yet to check out the Poole 2004 version that you also mentioned but cheers from sunny 'Down Under' for this one, legend! mjf.
PS. I much prefer this one to the Poole '04 version...but mind you, the Poole recording (that I heard on here, at least) isn't of a terribly high quality & what's more, it began a second or so into the song, somewhat killing that legendary buildup for which this song is so renowned & beloved, IMO...anyway, thanks again from Oz, campionissimo! Matt.
To the guy who asked what effects are on the intro, There is a sample of some sort of synthesiser running throughout (listen to the recorded version of Who Feels Love, its all over that song.) As for Noel's guitar, its delay set to quite a long delay time with a couple of repeats. Hope this helps. :D
pretty awesome i'm actually surprised they performed it late as 2002. the version from commodore ballroom vancouver 1995 is the best i've ever heard though, and if you think this is powerful, you should check THAT out. I don't know what it is about that gig i think both the amp noel was using like the sound of the guitars, and then the fact that it's just a great soundboard recording too. almost every song they do is one of the best versions i've heard.
This was the last year of "The Voice" for me... Great on Jools Holland in 2000, still good in 2001 at Barrowlands but you just start to hear its going here... Especially at the "Come on" bit late in the song.. By Glasto in 2004 it was gone... For those of us lucky enough to see them between 94/02 count your lucky stars... :)
There we were now here we are All this confusion nothing's the same to me There we were now here we are All this confusion nothing's the same to me I can't tell you the way I feel Because the way I feel is oh so new to me I can't sell you the way I feel Because the way I feel is oh so new to me What I heard is not what I hear I can see the signs but they're not very clear What I heard is not what I hear I can see the signs but they're not very clear So I can't tell you the way I feel Because the way I feel is oh so new to me I can't sell you the way I feel Because the way I feel is oh so new to me This is…
Liam is so amazing, he's so beautiful. I love his hair and everything about him except the fact that he's married! But I suppose if he's happy that's all that matters! lol
Oh yeah for sure, my point was that Columbia sounded pretty good even when his voice was starting to go, except for that Glasto gig, where it all sounded awful
thats the last time they played this song and around this era they dropped gas panic, d you know what i mean, go let it out, shakermaker, and loads of other great tunes...shame
I just saw these guys in Philly in December. They were great but American crowds are so, so, SO dissapointing! Well, I guess I have to go see them in Europe now.
"Solid!" As in he was happy with the reverb and levels on his microphone, monitors etc... They sound tight here. As you probably seen oasis on a good day are unbeatable but on a bad day...
are you talking about the camden show? i was there. VERY DISAPPOINTING crowd. i was going crazy though, and cursed people out who got all excited for only wonderwall. i was pissed lol.
sorry man i am not gay, you have no chances......... but when you think that his voice is great here than listen to Oasis - Columbia - Chicago 1994 (2)....there his voice is great
I don't know if its neccesary to shout 'Come on' when you already sound like Kermit the frog... The Refrain was good, but the last part was needless I think.
The drumming spoils this totally. Nowhere near as driving as Tony McCarol's. Alan White is miles more gifted technically but he never nails the Defo Maybe drum tracks. Fiddles around rather than smashing em out.
3 chords 901 different guitar solos a trippy drum beat and the greatest voice ever welcome to COLUMBIA HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY!!!!!
Feel like this song doesn't get the credit it deserves. One of my top 5 Oasis songs.
Same
Roll It Over
Bring it on Down
That intro with the synths is fuckin class. Reckon this is the best Columbia they ever did.
nah mate it's great and sounds different in a cool way to their other live versions but live at Glasgow Barrowlands in 01 is #1

That intro's vicious. Moody and packed with pure attitude. Fuckin love it.

Excellent song, Liam sounds really good in this version, certainly one of the bands classic tracks, and the band is rocking also
This band makes me very very happy. I love this song. God save Oasis, the salvation of Rock. Britain rules.
this song is perfect for liam's damaged voice
DOWN TO EARTH SONG!
I remember the feeling i had when i 1st listened to it.
the most powerful feeling ever!
i want it back!
OASIS FOREVER
columbia is easily one of the top songs ever written.
I really love Liam's hoarse voice of early 2000s, he sounded more developed vocally.
Noel's fills are sick
Love this song!
Love the solos!
I dont mind liams monotone
give me 2002
over 2006 anyday
lol I like the way he sings in a monotone.....proper class
cant stop watchin this

Well, someone certainly knows what he's talking/writing about, eh?! Anyway, cheers for the quality info', some decade on, mate!
Quality version!!, Almost as good as the Glasgow Barrowlands/Manchester Appollo version - at a similar time period in 2002.
heee aaa weee aaaa.....what fookin vocals.....Live4Ever LG
So much swagger to this song!!!

Bluearmy76 it’s back now brother
SuperMojoRisin
Liam sounds better than ever!!
Agree, Heathen Chemistry tour was the decline. Yet, Manchester 2005, he sounded ace. Go figure.
Just pure attitude and epic for it👍
what an intro
What a tune!! Noel's played his guitar is fuckin amazingg!!
Superb
simple yet so great
oasis....simply...the best...
Definitely awesome...
yeah he played it at their Galstonbury gig in 2004, thats on here somewhere. He plays it slightly differently though.
great song.
Noel is a genius.
Noel Gallagher en guitarra.. impecable....
love the way liam sings (L)
I'M FUCKING UP FOR IT!!!
i'd miss the meaning of soul, great song!
wow noel's voice has gotten a lot better since 1994. as for liam's, well atleast he can still belt em out
Ahhhhh!Oasis!!
awesome band!
Tremendo
"Acquiesce" is definitely one of my favorites, if not my all time favorite. "Columbia" isn't quite up there, but it's fuckin' great nonetheless.
Funnily enough, they're my two all-time favourite Oasis tracks...just love the raw, unadulterated power of each of them!
oasis r the best band in the world !!
i know what you mean, that's an underrated one
magic pie, all around the world, d'you know what i mean are great, up there with their best
There we were now here we are
All this confusion nothing's the same to me

im so obsessed with this song... xD
shame Noel left the band =(

Noel is thinking : that's it i'm going solo!!!
Masterpiece,I can't stop listening, for me, only Supersonic are better song from their song list.
fUCK YEA great intro!!!!
noel is fuckin great here
this song would fitted perfectly onto heathen or shoulders!
3:15 = "am i confusing whoooa!" lol
nah man! this song is one of the things that made definatly maybe what it is
agree with delkern, the best two songs of oasis!
#supportTheKingdom
Liam is so amazing, he's so beautiful. I love his hair and everything about him except the fact that he's married! But I suppose if he's happy that's all that matters! lol
agressive song
Actually the song was played after this most notably at Glastonbury 2004 but after that I don't believe that it was played on the next two world tours
sealdog24 was played before 95, but not much after till 2002
Noel Gallagher's voice is so hot
agreed. the snare sounds weak.
Anyone knows the name of Liam's voice effect?
Thanks !
I'm sure that Liam use an effect to sing this song ...
The volume on Noel's mic is too low, isn't it?
spose yeh , but i mean this version would.
with the synth and stuff at the start.
the barrowlands version of this tune is the best iv ever heard!! but this is good!
best concert oasis ever did
yesterday, Liam Gallagher woke up and... got arrested!
Chainsaw love
maybe ;)
fuck me. Epic .end of
You're right good spot. It's one of the few songs that he almost sounds better than he used to. Didn't sound that great at Glasto 04 though
By 04 his voice was gone. He was done by the Glastonbury happened.
Oh yeah for sure, my point was that Columbia sounded pretty good even when his voice was starting to go, except for that Glasto gig, where it all sounded awful
Dang you're still alive?
thats the last time they played this song and around this era they dropped gas panic, d you know what i mean, go let it out, shakermaker, and loads of other great tunes...shame
I just saw these guys in Philly in December. They were great but American crowds are so, so, SO dissapointing! Well, I guess I have to go see them in Europe now.
Gem's to quiet, can't hear him. Class performance though.
1:40 uhhh, what?
"Solid!" As in he was happy with the reverb and levels on his microphone, monitors etc... They sound tight here. As you probably seen oasis on a good day are unbeatable but on a bad day...
Bad day or not, living the thing takes some bad performances. F**ck that man, they're rocking it to the bottom bro.
are you talking about the camden show? i was there. VERY DISAPPOINTING crowd. i was going crazy though, and cursed people out who got all excited for only wonderwall. i was pissed lol.
you know what???
Needs mr bonehead

dechiiiiiiiiiiire

Mark Ollerenshaw right. i HATE the way he played the DM songs live. tony was the only one who could do em right
Mark Ollerenshaw Alan had his own style, Why would he want to play like Tony. There two different drummers.
liams voice is horrible.............destroyed
