Was the girl ( porsche) at the concert also. Nope. You sure cause this girl can sure scream" hahah!! I applaud whoever came up with that one 👏🏾
I’m happy with my 718 Cayman GTS, manual. I also like the 911, but there is something about the modern styling and mid engine design of the Cayman that appeals to me. If I had a 911, it would possibly be the Carrera T manual. The Cayman caught my attention ever since the first generation. Your neighbors green Cayman looks great!
I see a new SraightPipes video, I click immediately - I could be dying in the hospital, I click. Dying in a helicopter crash, I click. Stranded on a dessert island, I click! Question for you guys...Are Donny and Kevskipops' the only Patreon supporters with boxes? lol - I love you guys!
Ever since the Cayman came out, it has been one of my favourite cars. They haven't changed the look too much, so it would be the car of my choice. The Boxster looks really good too, but I prefer the lines of the coupe. Great review as always and I love you are reviewing my favourite car company!
Great review guys!!, but I own both a 2017 Cayman 718 with sport exhaust and a 2018 Subaru WRX STi Type RA, and no the exhaust note idle nor wide open is not even remotely similar. Awesome content. I watch every episode. Cheers.
moonw5 Your STI has unequal length headers giving it the rumble, listen to the new gen WRX with a boxer 4 and equal length headers. Sounds pretty similar to the cayman.
When on the track, switch to “Gear shift assistant” in the gauge cluster. It turns colors near redline so you can see peripherally when it’s time to shift without taking your eyes off the road. I have a ‘17 C2S and didn’t know that feature until after my first track day. Now it’s a huge plus.
Do appreciate the conversion guys! I was typing this comment as you started saying that lol. My friend back home, relatively new family physician, bought a Caymen GT4 ,mostly for track use (Portland International Raceway, in Oregon), but he drives an A3 as his daily. I sat in it, but it was at a family dinner at night, so didn't get to rid in it. As for these two...convertible would be fun honestly..
Solid review. I recently bought a 2018 with 20k miles on it. The PADM failed immediately after I drove it off the lot, but fortunately the dealer is repairing it. I'm really looking forward to living with the car and getting it on the track. It's my first Porsche.
My 09 Boxster S manual was near perfect. I recently traded it for my 16 GT4. The Boxster never failed me in the 100,000 km that I owned it. You gotta love a Porsche.
I’ve had a discussion other day with my friend exactly about these two cars and which each of us would choose, and next day-BAM. and STRAIGHT PIPES made video about it, thank you!!!
Best. Car(s). Ever. I have 2011 987.2 Boxster PDK and it still makes me smile every time I drive it. Golf clubs fit in the trunk (up to 2 sets assuming modest bag size) and folding push cart fits in the frunk. The top is always down. GTS is cool but you get 99% of the enjoyment from a base model.
yea i have a 2007 Cayman S and it is amazing, priced well nowadays too. I had the same feeling about the manual trans being a little spongy, it seems they haven't changed that even with the new one. i put in an aftermarket set of shifter cables from Numeric racing since they are very commonly used as a mod, and it makes it so much more rifle-y. if you ever buy an older cayman , get those cables.
@@TheStraightPipes After 7 months and 6k miles as my daily driver I've had zero issues. Had a pre purchase inspection done for over rev report and such. Had to have coil and plugs done which I did myself, not too bad. I did the shifter cables both for feel and as a preventative maintenance item as the OEM ones are known to snap on really hard downshifts over time. Leaves you stranded so I preferred to replace them ahead of time

I have a Porsche Boxster with the naturally aspirated flat six and PDK. I love my car and your review of both summed up these two perfectly! Driving the car everyday it makes me smile and never has let me down. If you buy an 06 to 08 you might have the IMS bearing issue so buy an 09 and higher for piece of mind. I’ve driven my car on the track at the Sebring International Raceway and it’s limits were higher than mine. If you don’t mind not having the fastest car for your money, you will fall in love with the Cayman/Boxster. I live in Florida so I bought the convertible with no regrets!!
987.2 Cayman owner here. The Cayman looks better. But as soon as the weather gets nice, it made me miss my ND Miata. Then you wish you had the Boxster. Boxster is also much cheaper used, you can get a low mileage Boxster S for the same price as a low mileage base Cayman. Get a used Boxster. And make sure it’s gen2 to avoid potential IMS issues.
I didnt think l would ever love a car more then my 981 C Gts. It took me a while to get it, l was so use to a different sound track and feel of my 981, but Jesus! What a car. I recently had it tuned. Stage 2 gets these pulling harder and faster then a gt3 over the quarter mile! Thats serious performance for the $$. This thing pulls out of corners like my 981 could only dream about 😂. Its crazy how easy it is to drive well and drive fast. Awesome 🎉

Want to see these against the new BMW Z4 M40i ! Or the just the boxter (since they're soft top convertibles) and then the third car as the Jaguar F type S ! Please make it happen :)
Enjoy the comparison section where you point out similarities, differences, quirks of the car. Should do this on all car reviews in my opinion. Keep up the good work. Would like to help on video editing for you guys but my skills arent quite up there
Sometimes I get tired of Jakub being know-it-all, or how he dismisses Yuri’s opinions and specialties as the “small stuff”... but then I see a video like this, where Jakub reviews something saying a ridiculous comment, complete deadpan face, looking all gigantic next to a tiny car, and all is forgiven 😁 MR Spyder absolutely an affordable, super fun midship car. My bro drove one for a while and it is a blast, known a few others to have them and daily drive them, even in the winters in Wisconsin. If you find a good one, go for it!
you guys are awesome!!! best car reviews ever, especially love your speedy back and forth sportscars lovers "nonsense", that is such a big part of us, sportscars fanatics, that only we can understand! :)
Hey guys, love your reviews! I just wanted to give a suggestion. I think it would be really nice if you show more clips of the interior of the cars you review in the future. Keep up the good work! Also, loved the intro!
Great review, one advice and I know it's not your car At 7:11 on the video, there is only 72 km left for the fuel ! For good long run performance it's not good for the car To be driven for low fuel into the car, its proven. Just my 2 cents, I have my BMW for 9 years, following My 4 Rules at now 400.000 km without any problems. Love watching your reviews at all the time 👍🏼
I have a 2018 Porsche Boxster GTS. Its the perfect Porsche. Except one thing, apple car play needs to be a standard feature along with blind spot monitoring. Other than that, perfect.
Sorry boys but I'm an old fart, just LOVE my Porsche Cayman 2008 with a flat 6, nothing compares to the sound and handling. I bought it new off the showroom floor after the first test drive and ALWAYS,ALWAYS get compliments every time I take it out. Anyone can buy a Corvette but not everyone can own a Porsche !!!
Fantastic video as always boys. I myself had the massive pleasure of driving a Cayman S; I've never had more fun in my life. Just seeing this video is making me jealous and want to drive it again!
Porsche's are just amazing aren't they with the interior, fit and finish, styling, the practical stuff, options galore and the heritage. As for the first world problem between a 911 or a Cayman. 911 for me all day. For the price of a Cayman you can get into a used 997 and start your 911 journey from there.
I absolutely love your videos guys! The most fun car reviews bar none. Also I really want this car. As much as I love the convertible, day in and day out I'd go Cayman with the manual.
Got to drive a 2019 Boxster GTS a couple of months ago, and is the only convertible I would ever drive. Fantastic car, and I wasn't disappointed by the sound either, and my mom has a 2016 Cayman S (NA Flat-6, which sounds amazing too)
Watching this one again in 2020. Looked like such a beautiful day,...the natural lighting, the rendering, the driving -- fucking beautiful work boys. I'm gonna side with Yuri on this one -- gimme that top down Boxster carving the curves on a beautiful day. Yeah man,....
Good video. Thanks for the information. But I question your comments about infotainment. Why is it great to have Apply car play only? Why is it great that it's not wireless? It's already annoying that most cars offer apple car play only. I get that you have iphone but it doesn't mean it is awesome that the car only provides apply car play. And wireless is always more convenient, so what's the deal with you?
Great comparison of cars that are actually the same, minus the roof. Cant go wrong in a Porsche. Thanks for saying that brand name right. Sad that in NA you have to put those orange reflectors on the side - on these cars and most others it kinda looks ugly, I guess thats why Yuri likes it :D
"I have a Porsche.....Boxster." (Base 718 PDK).I test drove 2 manuals, didn't like how clutch engaged high up on travel, nor did I like shifter feel and thunky sounds made on each shift. PDK is magic, wicked fast, and so smart. When loafing around shifts are low and easy, when going part throttle passes and rips shifts quicken and hold longer, go for a serious rip and gears will hold until redline and won't down shift again until you settle down for a few seconds (like an amped up child strung out on chocolate). Don't underestimate today's base 718. 300hp doesn't sound impressive, but this Boxster punches up, big time. Before this generation Boxster, I was never moved by them. They have always impressed me through corners, but underwhelmed me under acceleration. Now, a base can rip it. #1 reason for going Boxster? Mountain road crushing abilities. I live in San Diego, surrounded by awesome mountain roads, and amazing year round weather. This on a mountain road is pure magic. Perfection. Top down bliss. Even base suspension without Chrono is exceptionally good. I sold my 2016 Miata, and 2017 Civic Si, to purchase my base, and this is now my sole driver.People need to get over how these new 4cyl Turbos sound. Sounds very good to me. Deep tones, not high pitched like most 4cyls. Plus, this bugger has some low end grunt, and still pulls hard until redline.
I am currently looking to replace my ND Club with a Boxster, just can't decide on Base vs S/GTS. Not so much due to cost but performance...but not how you might think. Best thing about the Miata is being able to drive as hard as I want without going extra-legal speeds. So I am thinking the Base Boxster might be more my speed as the S/GTS are so much faster, and less usable on the street.
I also had a Club, great roadster, owned mine for nearly 3 years. Have you driven a base yet? I was very impressed after I did. Base Boxsters aren't getting much attention, shame really. I was torn between C7 Corvette, M2, GT350, Jaguar F type, and Boxster. I am a convertible kind of guy, which killed 2 of my contenders. Drove C7, and found it uncomfortable for me, and I have owned several Corvettes. F Type looks amazing, but doesn't stack up in any other category. Boxster won me over after 1 test drive.

Want to see these against the new BMW Z4 M40i ! Or the just the boxter (since they're soft top convertibles) and then the third car as the Jaguar F type S ! Please make it happen :)
RIP flat 6 in these cars, now they are 4 bangers
Enjoy the comparison section where you point out similarities, differences, quirks of the car. Should do this on all car reviews in my opinion. Keep up the good work. Would like to help on video editing for you guys but my skills arent quite up there
I love my 2007 Cayman S gen 1 and within that price range, nothing touches it for driving pleasure, its simple awesome 😀
Man, I can't decide if I like the content or the editing better. Straight Pipes Killing It.
That green is nice so nice the wife would never drive it which is perfect.
Great review(s) as always! My personal order is Cayman>911>Boxster although I'd have to agree with Yuri that saying "I have a 911" is way cooler.
The parking brake situation I think is to mimic a pedal-style parking brake. Pulling the tab would be how you release the parking brake.
11:35 that shot with the narration/commentary is absolutely perfect. Sounds weird, but felt so satisfying :3
Yuri is dressed to impress 🔥
Been waiting for this! The 718 looks nice. Always a head turner. Whether you get the pdk or the 6 speed manual, you can't go wrong!
The car sounds like you’re deflating a whoopee cushion.
An epic fart machine.
You guys followed through on the request! legends, love your show!
The intro and editing in the beginning was superb.
Sometimes I get tired of Jakub being know-it-all, or how he dismisses Yuri’s opinions and specialties as the “small stuff”... but then I see a video like this, where Jakub reviews something saying a ridiculous comment, complete deadpan face, looking all gigantic next to a tiny car, and all is forgiven 😁
MR Spyder absolutely an affordable, super fun midship car. My bro drove one for a while and it is a blast, known a few others to have them and daily drive them, even in the winters in Wisconsin. If you find a good one, go for it!
Those cup holders are risky! PDK, Boxster or Cayman GTS.....like manuals, but the PDK is awesome.
I can’t tell how many times I’ve watched this video... looking forward to buying a used boxster 981 model year
Cannot believe you're not doing the 500k already, you guys are the best. Love both 917
you guys are awesome!!! best car reviews ever, especially love your speedy back and forth sportscars lovers "nonsense", that is such a big part of us, sportscars fanatics, that only we can understand! :)
👍
Love the Cayman. But I’ll keep the 911.
It will be interesting to see the comparison between this and the C8 when it comes out.
''...slightly different, equally cool...this one's cooler...'' it's just little things like that, making this channel great...
Hey guys, love your reviews! I just wanted to give a suggestion. I think it would be really nice if you show more clips of the interior of the cars you review in the future. Keep up the good work! Also, loved the intro!
The best and most clarifying review
Great review, one advice and I know it's not your car
At 7:11 on the video, there is only 72 km left for the fuel !
For good long run performance it's not good for the car
To be driven for low fuel into the car, its proven.
Just my 2 cents, I have my BMW for 9 years, following
My 4 Rules at now 400.000 km without any problems.
Love watching your reviews at all the time 👍🏼
The dirty front rocker panel is from the windshield wiper drain tubes that drip water out the body seam there.
Only if you drive hard. Which we always do
I really enjoyed this video! It was relaxed and you guys went over the details thoroughly. #TeamBoxter
Jakob’s Martini Racing watch band... total car guy!
I also have a Gulf one
I have a 2018 Porsche Boxster GTS. Its the perfect Porsche. Except one thing, apple car play needs to be a standard feature along with blind spot monitoring. Other than that, perfect.
Thanks for the conversion prices excellent video as usual
I know this is an old video so they probably wont see this comment but god I love your videos guys!!!
When are you guys going to test the new 2021 Cayman 4.0 Flat 6?
For the price of a Cayman you can get into a used 997 and start your 911
journey from there.
I love this comparison. Thanks
I absolutely love your videos guys! The most fun car reviews bar none. Also I really want this car. As much as I love the convertible, day in and day out I'd go Cayman with the manual.
Yuir: "Because this girl can scream"
LOL
Got to drive a 2019 Boxster GTS a couple of months ago, and is the only convertible I would ever drive. Fantastic car, and I wasn't disappointed by the sound either, and my mom has a 2016 Cayman S (NA Flat-6, which sounds amazing too)
Watching this one again in 2020. Looked like such a beautiful day,...the natural lighting, the rendering, the driving -- fucking beautiful work boys. I'm gonna side with Yuri on this one -- gimme that top down Boxster carving the curves on a beautiful day. Yeah man,....
the visor test in this video killed me with jacobs expression
S and GTS are pretty much the same in terms of speed and you’d need a back to back comparison to even try to tell a difference
J...you kept the original writing of your name...that''s some heart warming ish right there...
Of course
