If you can convince the entire English speaking world that BMW is pronounced "Bay Em Vay" as per the correct German pronunciation then the "Porsch-uh" argument will be valid. You'd also have to tell Charles LeClerc he pronounces his own name incorrectly when he's speaking English. Anglicising words is normal, Porsche has 1 syllable in English, 2 in German. When I'm speaking to French people, I don't expect them to use the English pronunciation of my name.

I wouldn’t say they’ve made it better again, Caymans have always been good, even the early 718s. They still rev-ed high (I think red line is nearly 7000 rpm), the engine was very responsive and delivered more torque at Low speeds and it still sounded okay. It’s growly and meaty, it’s just different tot he 981, which is what put a lot of people off.

day 3 of trying to explain to Mat how diffusers work. Air flowing beneath the car follows the shape of the undertray. The diffuser creates an area underneath the car where air lets go that causes a low pressure area below the car, sucking it down, generating downforce. The diffuser Mat thinks of is a multi-layer diffuser, which are almost never used on road cars. Is the diffuser on this Porsche very effective? No, but it can definitely generate a few kilo's of downforce, aiding the car's stability when it's getting hooned on the autobahn.

Funny your comments about the turbo 4. Ive straight piped and tuned mine to 430hp - 500nm, It pulls harder than a gt3 over the quarter, runs a 3.4sec 0-60 & has a cracking soundtrack. At a recent gymkhana one of the 4.0l drivers wondered why hes doesn’t sound that good. He didnt know mine was turbo till l told him. The 4.0 needs some work to get them sounding right. Actually drove a new gts4.0 on a recent service of my turbo and couldn’t wait to give it back. Performance and sound wise it just wasn’t there for me. The turbo 4 has so much more usable performance, hence it pulls much harder than the 4.0l. I have had a long history with Porsche Turbo 4s including the 924, 944 and the 968. All incredible cars and the 718 turbo 4 is a wow sportscar comparatively. I really enjoyed my Cayman 987R but this car is on a whole different level to that obviously. Also having owned the 981s before this, the soundtrack was amazing & significantly better than the new gts 4.0 imho.
@paul Why does anyone who doesn't own a thing assume it's a "flex" to mention owning that nice thing? Not only do a lot of people own Porsches, the way they hold value means you don't have to be even slightly rich to own one so it would be a very strange flex anyway- "ooh look at me I bought a car that's cheap to own and practical". The 4c turbos are actually really great and arguably better for most driving. The 4.0 is fab but you do need to Rev it out. And you’ll be doing 80 mph in 2nd….So, a lower spec engine that you can Rev out on the public road is arguably more fun, even if the engine note is flatter. Remember the original 718 was a 4c too. I actually think the 718 T is a cracker….

Please do us europeans a favour and pronounce “Porsche” actually saying the final “e”. The Germans will be grateful..
Let's just call him Ma. Ma from Carwow
I have a Porsche Cayman and try pronounce the "e" as intended however here in Scotland I've been called a pretentious wanker for doing so lol. Everyone says "Porsh" here. :(
Matt Watson, the kind of guy that sticks his stick in exhausts.

@@raigardasgrudzinskas8122 Oh dear
I've owned a Cayman GTS for 12 months and I spend most of my time on RUclips watching videos that stroke my ego and affirm my decision.
Manual or PDK ? Do you daily it mate ?
@@sashnaumoski7479 yes it’s my “daily”. Although I don’t actually commute to an office or anything. It’s been driven 11k miles in 11 months.
I wanted a manual but bought the PdK after driving both back to back and deciding the PDK was still very engaging and very fun to play with. I would buy a manual if it was a weekend toy only and had a second car to crunch the motorway in.
Cheers mate enjoy the beauty. Safe driving.
cant believe Porsche actually listen to people and giv them Manual, Amazing !!!
And NA engines.
