I noticed that most of the comments are from guys, which is not that surprising. I’m one of your more unusual fans. I’m a 62 year old woman, who vicariously enjoys your outdoor adventures. While I love the outdoors and kayaking, I’ve only backpacked once in my life when I was a lot younger, and certainly never alone. I look forward to seeing your next adventure.
I'm a 62 year old woman as well, and Justin is my favorite You tuber. Love the simplicity and beauty of his trips. I camp and backpack quite a bit, but have never had deep remote experiences like his. It's fantastic, beautiful, incredibly challenging, and a huge blessing to be able to vicariously enjoy them. So thankful! Try a backpacking trip, just a short one. You will never regret it even if you're sore afterwards!
It blows my mind how good of a dude you are. I've been trying to adopt how easy going and chill you seem when shit gets real. Always a smile and a cool head. keep on keepin on
Love your positive attitude and being so mindful and being in the present. Life’s too short to rush through it. Looking forward to the continuation of your trip.
A very big THANK, to, dear, Justin, for your amazing contributions to the whole RUclips and for all of us who keenly following your fine channel! God bless you always and keep you safe! Warm greetings from Sweden!
I am a first time subscriber. I really enjoyed your adventures. Looking forward to more videos. Take care and stay thirsty my friend. " enjoy the flats" Tom from Timberlea, N.S. You know it really helps to view your experiences in the wild in this covid times. It is almost like being there and without the bugs!!
Thanks Justin. I will never forget your capsize and your panic when Saku wasn't to be found. Made the dangers very real for me...! Love you to talk more about that whole experience. Cheers from South Africa!
I think most people haven’t experienced being alone in the woods. Really alone. Not quite 100% where you are or what is in the woods around you. Scary yet exhilarating feeling! Amazed at how relaxed you are when things get rough! Good on you mate!
Great vid! Near as I can tell, pulling the chute on the Labrador trip was a Master Class in bush safety decision making. Mother Nature is not to be trifled with. Thoroughly enjoyed the series.
Thanks for reminding everyone to always trust your compass. I was in Labrador a few years back and got turned around while exploring and was headed for Ungava Bay or thereabouts when I remembered what my dad always told me; Trust your compass. And so it was that in the Great Land, which is full of iron ore, I trusted my compass...and eventually found my way back to camp.
I am with you when you refer to "out there" as the real world as I have thought that for years and think of the made world or fabricated world as an overlay to the real world. Love getting real.
Justin you didn’t fail, Mother Nature just put you on pause. That was out of your control. You did a magnificent job on this trip, I couldn’t stop watching your adventure. It’s helped so much in these crazy times. Saku is so much fun to watch too, he adds a lot to your adventures for sure. Keep them coming in the future!!
This journey was absolutely EPIC.. and we viewers only saw tiny slices of each day/week. I challenge ANYONE questioning Justin to attempt this, and i want to see footage as Justin has provided of any such attempt... It won't happen, as so few people today even have the courage to put their cell phones down for an hour. Hats off Justin! you are among some of the greatest explorers of the barren lands.
like so many others i am home bound old and physicaly disabled, but too healthy to die, my biggest adventure is getting to my gate for an amazon delivery, your time in the wild is my escape, i do not care if you cover great distances, i grew up in minnesota, i remember the brief summers and winter storms, get out there now while your young, retirement can be a long slow end to your life and dogs have so little time to live, it makes me so happy to see zac run n play and ride the canoe, what a lucky boy he is, thankyou for takeing him along,
Thanks Justin, I have been a subscriber for a few months now and want to let you know that I really appreciate your videos. I like to get out and about as much as I can in the Bush, going where hopefully no man has gone before! However, as with most of us we can't do that as often as we want. That's why I enjoy your channel so much, because I can imagine mysf right there with you and that helps feed the hunger to actually be there when it's not possible. Thanks for that. Take care on your guys' next adventure! Looking forward to more! Thom White Sunshine Coast British Columbia
The QA session gave a great closure to the expedition videos. Living in the moment is a great way to adjust your life and thoughts! Have you ever thought of applying for the “Alone” series? You have the skills, experience, and mental toughness to do well.
Justin I agree with your philosophy 100%. That being that your trek is not about the speed from point A to point B but rather the experience of going from A to B. The two things that draw me most to your work are: Saku is a member of your family and an equal partner in all that you do. And your philosophy of living in the moment; taking time to experience your environment and paying homage to those who went before us. I look forward to the next adventure that you, Saku and Bear head out on. Thanks for taking me along.
Thanks so much Justin! So glad I ran across your channel! You are so enjoyable to listen to! I am now an advid follower and so look forward to all of you Soku and Bears adventures! You are such a beautifully unique person! Live everything about your videos!! Blessings, Mo
I like the tunes in your videos, the clean cool vibes of the woods, the crackling fire and the one million and one times that you say the word Saku. Looking forward to your next shared adventures. Stay well stay safe.
You did very good by the way you’re the best one . I learned a lot from you because you show us the truth about what we can expect to happen to us while in the wild.
So glad you say the name of my province correctly, Québec , and not Kwebec as so many others do . Merci encore pour cette magnifique aventure que je regarderai de nouveau un de ces jours . Sylvain
Thanks for sharing this incredible experience with us Justin. You are a star and you don't even know it. Your YT footage needs to be condensed into a two hour documentary for the whole world to see. Some day, I hope, I'll get to shake your hand, and Saku's paw. God bless.
Been binge-watching these. Honest, informative, exhilarating but above all else, real. Please, resist the urge overproduce your videos, they are perfect as they are. I only mention this because I've seen good channels go down this route and ultimately they lose sight of the very things that made them work. 100% one of the best channels on RUclips. Keep adventuring!!! All the best from NZ.
Hi Justin I like the number four answer. Enjoying every moment of the adventure and not just rushing through. Stop and smell the roses kinda thing. I love watching your experiences and I thank you for sharing them.

Hey brother, great stuff your videos. I got a question. What's your take on the tv series Alone? Is that something you could see yourself doing? cus I would place a dollar on it.
Justin Barbour , Just bought the Kindle edition from Amazon. Can’t wait to read it. Love your attitude and sense of responsibility for choices that comes through on this video.
Q #4 - you got it, mate. Time. Never enough. Enjoy your time out there, and there should be no ‘race’ to it - that’s key. Thx for this debriefing, and looking forward to your further forays.
well done-- many questions I had in mind got answered. Biggest one is character and though you never mentioned it, it came out in how you responded. Some series you have your Leatherman knife, others a Mora.... both awesome tools to have at a reasonable cost. I enjoy that you don't have surfer-rock music soundtracks added to your video and that you're not just doing endless product placement commercials. The MSR tent proved to take a good beating... just smart choices, safety precautions and a good spirit in our Natural World! Look forward to future videos, expeditions, books! Cheers to the man from the Rock and his loved ones (including companions of the 4 legged kind).
Thanks for answering my question about the camera charging! Was so curious throughout the series how that solar panel was working out for you. It looks deadly, might have to pick one of those up for the kit! I haven’t figured out how to charge camera batteries via USB efficiently, we end up carrying about 6 or 7 batteries for ours which is a hassle and expensive and then we still run out 😂. Loved the series! Looking forward to the next adventure! (also Saku is the cutest 😭).
Summed up perfect Justin....enjoy the process/experience to the max. Not making it to the finish line will never define what you achieved and accomplished on this trip. The personal growth /self discovery you gained in the moments that make up this journey is the true reward. While it is important to have goals and complete them it is even more important to assess/reflect on what we learn and what we take away from these life experiences. That is what shapes us, we become better human beings. Our appreciation for life becomes more acute. You have inspired me greatly regarding my own wilderness adventures. I have the ultimate respect for you. Spot on regarding the canoe comment:) Leaving that canoe hurt:) Take care Stay safe:)
man I love you and what you do! your q & a is amazing... your are a legend and one I enjoy a lot of evenings and you have the guts and charm to go on wild adventures, take great risk and share to the world, my world and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul...bravo from Michael in Stratford ON,
I Realy enjoyed visiting with you! Being retired now we get to go into the forest on our quads everyday. I look forward to your book that will go over your gear. My parents use to canoe with me as a child and fish and hike in. Those are my fondest memories of my parents together. So your hiking canoeing info may help relive this experience with my little Nova Scotia Duck Toller, Fawn. She is a good dog. You are a testament to what it’s like to be Canadian. I wish more younger people would embrace your courage and joy for the outdoors and get away from the computers. God Bless you my friend. Thank you ♥️🇨🇦
Thank you so much for this message! I appreciate you watching and supporting. Best of luck in your adventures : ) Stay patient and take good care of yourself and your four legged companion. Justin
Glad your going to finish the Labrador trip, Thank you for answering , can't wait , Yay ,I myself love being in the outdoors camping on crown land away from the crowds of people, going home i feel strange at first, almost like i don't belong and would prefer to be where I just left. it takes me a week to be back to a normal lifestyle. and still longing to go back to the woods. I was introduced to the outdoors when I was young. I also hike a great deal, usually solo, as my friends are not much into the same interest as I. unfortunately. Thanks Justin for answering our questions , Sue On. Canada
Again Justin fantastic. I don’t always enjoy watch the Q&As but I did enjoy this one. I love how real you are with everything you do. You are a natural in nature When you answered the question on what was it you took away or learnt from this experience was great to hear. I always say the journey you take is to be experienced and you may never get that chance to be in that situation or be there to experience that moment again so don’t rush it just enjoy it, take it in. Well done. Can’t wait till I see you next adventure well done. 👍🏼👏🏼👣
Good advice for us all - during COVID-19. You were getting into the details in this. I just want to accentuate- how powerful your storytelling is. Without your storytelling- no one cares about your solar array. It’s you and Saku. Thank you for the gift of your stories.
Thanks for all the insights. Really love your channel. I’ve got an Australian Shepard who sticks right by my side just like your dog. She is a joy to hike with and swim with
It's because of guys like you, that I've spent over $400 (so far) on hiking/ camping gear, this week alone.. Now, I've just gotta get myself out in some real back country..🍻🍻 salute, and thank you for the inspiration..
Justin May I say again, your trip was a tremendous accomplishment, Do not doubt for one minute that it was truly ‘epic’ While others have accomplished similar things , they were not alone....

I once read that "you are never truly lost, you just know where you are with varying degrees of precision."
That, was probably the truest, and coolest, comment I've ever read..🍻🍻.
Flies are the best tourist control nature has to offer.
