Fantastic Chris - I loosely followed your work and just completed this. Instead of making the brackets and mounts from aluminum, I modeled and printed my own to fit the machine. I used the same flat stock and angle that you showed here. If you're interested in the STLs I could post them.
Very nice, a good drag chain setup is a nice upgrade for these type of lasers. My drag chain setup is very similar- got L channel aluminum extrusions (same sort of aluminum angle that you used) attached to the frame/gantry to support any sagging in just the same way. I've got a Sculpfun S30 Pro with the 900x900mm expansion kit- it's a 10 watt so the huge area isn't too useful yet but I'll be upgrading to a 30 watt laser soon so it'll be much more practical. After I get my 30 watt I'm looking forward to my first CO2 laser. I've noticed more accuracy with the chain and can run at higher speeds- not by a lot but it's noticeable, I had wires rubbing on my enclosure and the air assist would flap around a lot at speed.
BONJOUR france . TRES BIEN VOTRE MODIFICATION. where did you find your big protective filter from the box and which goggles you used with your prescription glasses
These are the goggles www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U6UHRCI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 On the filter, are you referring to the orange plexiglass or the fan on the rear
Hi, I'm doing this for a Neje Master 2s Max, could you tell me the type of wire you used to extend your cables? Also, great job. Very tidy and professional.
I have the jtechphotonics sheet and using the included safety glasses in addition to the sheet and my eyes hurt. At this point I think these lasers have a dangerous amount of IR or UV light.
I agree, I do seem to notice a bit of a headache when the laser is running. I also cover the Plexiglass with a large black lawn and leaf bag when the laser is running.
Chris, I also have the Ortur Laser and love it, but could you let me know what kind of wood you used for your plantation shutter louvres in your other video?

Well done!
Great tip about where to locate the connections
Thank you
Good job well done 👍

@@cedwards874 Thank You Sir.
Is that an openbuilds acro? Heavily modded if so
I would like to just make a new wire harness are these 2.54mm JST-XH Connectors
I'm not sure, which is why I left the original connectors and just added wire in the middle.
Nice Job! Where did you get your height adjustment attachment from?
The part that mounts on the laser module came from someone on the Ortur facebook group. The one in the cabinet is a Lab Jack from Amazon.
Thank You!
Wich color heatshrink solder connector did you use?
I was able to us the smallest and the next size up.
Thanks very much.
How much did you extend each wire?
About 6" to 10" can't remember exactly. I staggered the connectors so they were not all bunched up in the same location.

The Ortur 20watt laser does not give off any UV or IR light . The lasers spectrum emits light at 440-450 nm. The intensity is the only real issue .
@@stevegraves3609 We'll just have to agree to disagree on this. I'd rather have people err on the side of safety than lose their sight.

@@danharrier3618 I used Basswood, not sure if it was Northern or Southern, I would guess Southern.
