Thanks for the comment! And thanks for catching that! So premium although more expensive, burns slower and lasts longer which in this case offsets the extra cost!!
I usually run 87 octane in mine. I have the 36 gallon tank and 20 inch wheels with 33 inch tires, so you can imagine how much it costs to fill it. The bigger tires hold my mileage down a little. Best I’ve gotten is about 18 on a straight, flat road. Thanks for the video, hope those allergies aren’t bothering you to much, have a good weekend.
That’s still pretty good with the wheel and tire setup. You have an eco boost??? Allergies are a little better. We’ve been getting constant rain here and it helps a lot!! Thanks for watching bro!!
@@MeAndCarKeys , yep I went for the 3.5 eco boost . I’m a diehard V8 guy believe me, almost got the 5.0. I’m a pipeline inspector and I drive a lot. I needed better fuel economy. Put 28,000 miles on it from December 30th 2019 to the same date in 2020!
very interesting video & findings. premium is recommended in my car, but i am curious to see if the mid-grade will offer similar fuel economy & driving dynamics.. great video!!
That’s what I’ve heard! And It’s obvious; when I used premium, the truck ran a lot better! Normally driving uphill, my truck strains, but on premium, it took hills easily
you had more fuel leftover than last time so you needed less fuel that's why yes you paid more per gallon but you needed less gallons and you are confusing how long your gas lasted by with how many miles it carried you thats why its called Miles Per Gallon MPG
Interesting! Yeah I knew it wasn’t 100% accurate, but close. I was basing it on the same time frames which seem to be more accurate than the amount of fuel used. Thanks for the comment
I enjoyed this video. I currently use regular. I don't think we have E85 where I am. At least I hadn't seen it. 😅 I've heard it's good to get your gas from the same store as often as possible. What are your thoughts on that ??
Yeah E85 is rare. I’ve always heard the same thing too, but I’m not sure if it makes a difference. I know some gas stations have different additives. And some claim to be “cleaner” that others... I’ll do some research!!
Bro-sum! I'd be mixing 87 & e85 all day w/prices soaring skyhigh! You'll get proper octane readings of approx. 91-95 w/a ½ & ½ mix for those high comp. bangers bro!😆👌"erryone's doing it man, save a penny dude"
Not so sure why I’m getting lower mpg. Since I’ve owned it. Almost a year now. I’ve got the 5L motor 2013 f150. With e85 I get about 13 mpg. With regular I’m getting 14.4 at best once in a while I press the gas hard but most times I’m easy on the pedal. Have nvr tried premium tho
That’s seems about normal from what I’ve heard for the 5.0. A friend is mine is getting 12mpg from his 5.0 on a 6inch lift. It might go up slightly with premium but Ofcourse the offset of the cost. Thanks for the comment!!
First I went back to E85 only because the gas prices were so high, but I also had to fill up more often. So, I recently switched back to regular for better MPG
@MeAndCarKeys it's pretty simple. You just have to say it out loud. "Miles per gallon" is Miles/gal or miles÷gallons. What I do is reset my trip when I fill up. Drive until it gets low. Then, the next time I fill up, check the gallons on the pump. Trip miles/pump gallons. Easy. And the emptier the tank is, the more accurate the calculation will be. This is because the pump may or may not fill to the exact same level, but it's close enough, maybe just a few hundredths.
holy cheap gas even being a 2 year old video. If I could fill my truck for that cost it would have to be back in the 90's..... here in Canada it costs me $180 for a 100 liter tank and gas has dropped a bit

Thanks a lot bro!!! Just be careful with cars that recommend premium; they may not run on lower grade fuels and it may damage the fuel systems.
One thing I noticed is that at shell gas stations their regular unleaded is equal to qT’s plus. I think shell uses better or more additive detergents.
Interesting! I wonder if there’s a way to research the gas makeup of different gas station brands and see what’s best?? 🤔
Keep investigating man! There is definitely a difference even between where I fill up
Thanks bro! I will get to the bottom of this!! 😂
The premium is way better for your engine. Considering the compression ratio for the 3.5 or 5.0, premium is the way to go in my opinion.

all 4 gas have different hp levels, e 85 has more alcohol prem ammo should have less alcohol, but these 2 have the highest hp and torque

You should always do hand calculations because the dash is rarely accurate
