THANK YOU FOR CASTING MORE OF THESE. I don't know why, but as a 30 year old man these 10x/256x tech community matches bring back the wild wonder i got when I first played this game as a kid.
So because the elite unique unit upgrade is also x10, I went looking for a unique unit that gains a lot of stats when you research elite. And boy, did I find one. Introducing the *Persian War Elephant Stack:* - Persians: elite war elephant (+1500 hp, +50 attack, +10 pierce armor) - Persians: mahouts (+300% move speed) - Malians: farimba (+50 attack) - Bengalis: paiks (+200% attack speed) - Bengalis: elephant units immune to bonus damage - Bulgarians: stirrups (330% attack speed) - Dravidians: medical corps (regens 200 hp per minute) - Dravidians: wootz steel (elephants ignore armor) - Cumans: +150% move speed - Franks: +200% hit points - Teutons: +20 melee armor - Teutons: conversion resistance Honestly, even Persians on their own might be strong enough to wreck any other combo.
10x shared civ bonus regular player here, some things I want to note: My first impression from the civs was: Portuguese -> everyone wants teal to fast imp so they can build a fetoria, with that one, not much eco is required (extra wood and food is also easy due to celts + khmer) Malian + Celts -> free lumbercamps + fast chopper -> It might be the fastest way to just have efficient wood cutters to get to imp asap until you have a fetoria for everything else Aztecs + Khmer + Lithuanians -> Free castle age -> everyone should take it to not get behind on tecs. Malian + Lithuanians -> TC's are way stronger than castles (50 arrows), way cheaper (100stone vs 650stone, no wood cost due to mailans) and have more range. Castles are there for tecs and production only and shouldn't be build if you don't go UU. (Even with celt castles) Celts + Khmer -> Obviously scorps go brrrrr, however they are not as strong as last game where they also had +40 attack due to the chinese Magyar + Cumans -> Very good sync: a) free scouts with instant production, free units are always good to catch some fire, their + 50 attack from the malians is likely still useless, as they die quickly. b) the magyar imp tec applies to kipchaks. Making them really strong. Cumans -> Do NOT research Imp tec, this kipchaks are very strong due to their speed and extra arrows, they don't deal much dmg usually, but still can destroy buildings. You would rather pay wood than give them to your enemies, also due to the magyar, their dmg output is higher than usual. Celts + Liths -> Extreemly speedy halbs, combined with Aztecs and Malians, we have halbs with over 40 attack and 54 pierce armor, that means that organ guns (which usually are very op) only deal 2 dmg to them. They should kill all cav too, depending on if they hit first. Malian UU usually very strong, but sadly easily countered by scorps. Lith UU also very strong, even without relic bonus they get 43+2 attack and 400 + 20 hp however they have no pierce armor, so I am not so sure if they are good or not. Magyar don't get extra meele attack, they get the upgrades 10x as free, which still is just free. However, they have nice other bonuses. I don't see a reason to go paladin over hussar, as you can consider paladin to be a trash unit and hussar to be free and faster producing. I wouldn't make a single scirm as they are outranged by scorps and die to them There are some bonuses that got changed specifically for the 10x mods. For example, the Burmese get free lumbercamps in addition to the free upgrades and they get 1 relic at their starting tc, as the free lumber upgrade and the reveal all relics bonuses are not that strong. Similar to that, the Magyar seem to have a hidden bonus that gives their scorps +20 attack per age (castle&imp).
while i totally agree that in this game skirms are useless, they can become a real powerhouse with Mayans + Vietnamese + trash bonuses, shredding buildings from far.
A question: what is the effect of Anarchy/Marauders? Does it allow other players to train Huskarls/Tarkans as well? Or does it allow the other players to train their UU from the barracks/stable respectively?
@@ElemenTerra1 yes, exactly. When Elite Tarkans/Elite Huskarls are researched, they are available for everyone no matter which age they are in. My usual strat with goths in team is that the goths player goes fast imp to research all tecs, while I stay darkage/feudal and span militia/maa until I get to create elite huskarls. Both Elite Tarkans and Elite Huskarls have plenty of peirce armor, good attack and tarkans even have good hp
Mod creator here. The +40 attack on scorpions is indeed to compensate for the free infantry/cavalry attack bonus. Actually, it is designed so researching forging/iron casting/blast furnace gives 10x attack on all siege units.
Imagine towers with Chinese, Celts, Spanish, Byzantines, Britons, Japanese and Koreans. Great Wall: 300% more HP (or rather Incas for no stone cost) Strongholds: +250% attack speed Yeomen: +20 attack Byzantines: +400% HP Eupseong: +20 range Spanish: Instantly build (also tanky villagers) Yasama: +20 extra arrows ??
Still outranged by rattans or plumes if Vietnamese or Mayans are added to this. Mayans also make archers free so your towers are net negative. Tatar trebs kill this as well.
For crazy villagers you could have the following: Bengalis: No Population Incas: Blacksmith Upgrades Spanish: Supremacy and Faster Building Bohemians: Move Speed Fervor and HP Sanctity Berbers: Speed Poles: Regain HP Persians: Faster Producing Maybe Chinese last for instant +30 villagers at start.
Yellow really annoyed me in this game. He was so controlling and then he said the guy at the bottom of the scoreboard who didn't have control of the monument had to die just because he didn't blindly obey him. To add insult to injury, he had the gall to say ''oof, sorry bro'' after red dies as if he wasn't the sole reason why he died.
Same. I don’t get why other people teamed up with yellow to kill him either. It was kinda funny how yellow ignored blue almost winning to attack Red only to be smushed by red before Blue steamrolled the guys base.
Only1Tobius/Teal here, really fun game and was interesting not having to worry about eco as long as you had the feitoria. I tried my best to break up the other team with diplomacy but no luck! Was a wacky first community game for me :)
Nice, another one of the modified games! Thank you! The possibilities here are almost endless because of the many civ combinations and how many techs are actually researched by the players. Fun stuff! Also, the strategic differences might be massive between different players and maps with this. If Celts wouldnt be allowed to be part of it, that would be another interesting choice.
When that happens you don't get unique techs shared when researched. A 2 4 all (idk what2v2v2v2 is called) might be interesting to see, though. Let people decide their combos for a KotH. Less likely for people to get KOed before crazy combos descend
Full disclosure, I didn't realize I was about to win with a team victory...I absolutely would have turned on everyone if I'd realized. I prefer more dramatic endings as well.
I LOVE your idea about deliberately stacking bonuses to make each game themed. A super-trebs game A super-gunpowder game A super-archer game A super-elephant game This could be really cool. Please make it happen
In our city we have houses from about 1200, 1300, 1400, and they are still inhabited :). We also have a cathedral which they started to build around 1200.
Yellow keep telling everyone to off from the mid. And then when he got the mid, nobody noticed cause too busy fighting blue. Props to Blue the real protector of the mid without saying anything
11:00 In "Age of Kings" the standart pop was indeed 75 (in campaigns especially), but in custom games you could set it up to 200 pop. And in that times even my 200 Mhz Pentium handled it just fine. :) Although I remember turning Age of empires 1 into a slideshow adding like 8000 units in a scenario editor. And in still didn''t crash. 11
What a game. GG. Can't wait for Japanese Samurais fighting 10x faster speed. There are so many amazing potential bonus stacks, this is going to be a great new series. I hope someone gets Teutons next. Very tanky infantry and crazy castle range should be interesting. Their monk healing range also nuts and if combined with Aztec monks...I wanna see that!!!! :D
Just because I also want to see an artillery duel game, here's all the applicable trebuchet civ bonuses (with 10x mod): - Tatars: timurid siegecraft (+20 range) - Britons: warwolf (100% accuracy and 5-tile blast radius) - Japanese: kataparuto (40x pack/unpack speed, 330% firing speed) - Celts: 250% firing speed. - Saracens: counterweights (+150% attack) - (optional) Teutons: ironclad (+40 melee armor) - (optional) Aztecs: trebuchets are created 110% faster. There may be other techs that also increase creation speed.
I am not sure if T90 is going to mention it, but some techs would be bad for you to research as unique tech. For Bulgarians you do not want to give civs with paladin +330% attack when you only have caviler. Cumans don't have husbandry so all other cav with husbandry are faster.
I wanna see Gurjaras' Chakram Thrower with pass through damage, garland wars attack, range and speed. Just march them right in the center and watch a lawn mower.
Next time you visit Europe, in the Netherlands we have some fully restored fortress from the 80 years war (1600-s) not a piece of art like cathedrals but worth visiting to get an impression about how forts were build up in those days. 80 year war was the war of independence for the dutch resulting in the first merchants republic.
Persian Elite War Elephants would have 1900HP, would be fast as heck because of Mahouts ( 300% faster ) 65 trample damage, and 1/12 armor. They look decent even by themselves, at least in theory.
Theoretically, you could eliminate virtually all costs if you combine the right civs: Italians: Free age up Chinese: Free technologies Hindustanis: Free villagers Portuguese: No gold cost for units Koreans: No wood cost for units (except siege) Gurjaras: No food cost for units with unique tech Malians: No wood cost for buildings Incas: No stone cost for buildings So the only things that would still cost anything would be siege weapons (wood), bombard towers, feitorias and wonders (gold)
Really really want to see Britons Longbows on this map. Everyone gets +20 range archers, then another +10 range with Yeomen, then elite longbow gets another +10 range on top of that. +40 range archers (focus on any UU foot archers with an attack upgrade on the elite version) will at least help against the siege meta.
@@mbvglider remember back in the day. Britons didn't get elite skirmishers. Instead their skirmishers got their range boost. So they were long range base skirmishers. Not strong per say but they did outrange archers of every other civ. Now imagine that with x10 range boosts. Sounds fair and balanced
I was waiting for this. Very nice post at just the right time. Scorpions 4 the win once again it seems. Also free scouts, super fast infantry with insane attack & pierce armor and generally instant created military. Too bad there are no relics on this map though 11 Looking forward to the game featuring Ethiopians
An unbeatable strategy for a 4 v 4 with this mod: Japanese, Celts, Malians, and Goths. Two people immediately put down a few free barracks (Malians building discount), and instantly produce (Goths faster working barracks team bonus) free militia (Goths infantry discount) to gain an edge on the other team. The other two teammates work their way to feudal and then produce men at arms, which will be insanely fast (Celt speed bonus), attack fast (Japanese attack speed bonus), have +10 pierce armor (Malian pierce armor bonus) and have +10 against buildings (Goths building attack bonus). These men at arms raid and immediately take down TCs for the win. I can't see another civ combo withstanding that. Archer combos won't be able to outrun them or connect on any shots (and if they do, they'll do little damage), cavalry, siege, and monk combos all kick in too late.
this as so much breaking the game potential : death-star trebuchets, (with relics) lithuanian, francs, berbers , cumans, poles, bulgarian (and maybe others ) : you could have super strong knights, free of gold, that attack 330% faster, does + 12 damage, and Cavalry moving at light speed.
Hey T90, if you find yourself having trouble figuring out where stats come from, you can just mouse over them and it will show you the upgrades modifying it!
I first played this mod in a random lobby. I was Malay and my ally was Huns, so my elephants were free and built instantly. Goths should be insane - free infantry that builds instantly from dark age.
How funny would it be if you were Burgundians and you could research the "Flemish Revolution" and convert all your enemies eco into military! Also, I want to see Spanish in this mode.
Love these! Just a thought, that it could be fun to do a game of 2v2v2v2 or 4v4 and let the teams pick which civs they want to stack together. could end up super 1 sided if you go the 4v4 route, but 2v2v2v2 would keep things reasonable I think. That said, if you went 2v2v2v2, you'd probably want a map like black forest or amazon tunnel instead of the nothing map to speed things up a smidge. Whatever you end up doing, please more of this mod! :)
Scorps won't be busted if you don't have Celts+Khmer. The combination of range, firing speed, HP, creation time, and extra projectiles that those two civs possess makes scorps the meta unit in any 10x game if they are in it. Next game you should ban them both so that players can explore other metas
Instant production from stables and free hussar line and free buildings. Just build stables, delete villagers, and build infinite free hussar. Just need to get the middle first and then hold it with bodies.
YES ! Strasbourg ! omg T90 est venu! I am from Strasbourg, yes this city is straight coming out of AOE2 in some insights hahaha damn, didn't think he'd give a shout out to strasbourg
i think the best x10 civs are Byzantines Goths Bohemians Lithuanians and Persians Tatars too because flaming camels op also portuguese feitorias are ridiculous and saracen markets are also insane... is everything good????
Didn't find anyone talking about it but maybe it was talked about in the first vid. Was it called Flemish revolution? The tech where everyone would just have vills converted to militia? Might be a nice strat

So the only things that would still cost anything would be siege weapons (wood), bombard towers, feitorias and wonders (gold)
Love the crazy Trebs idea, please please make that happen 😈
Lithuanian Leitis are one of the best UUs in this mod, a little disappointed we didn't see them. Much better than the paladin spam
if they have an elite version especially.
Love to see these Nothing maps! Let's gooooo!!
Stack with Mayans and arbs are free.
Except. No thumb ring.
So everyone else has better archers.
Although we could build ludicrous skirmishers easily enough with a Byzantine base.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 I feel like free Plumes with 10x Briton range upgrade + 10x Yeoman + Thumb Ring is GG for anyone trying to make Skirm army, lol.
Too bad there are no relics on this map though 11
Looking forward to the game featuring Ethiopians
Also buildings cost no wood (Malian bonus) and units cost no gold.
Don't know why scorpions got rocketry for some reason. Sadly some techs weren't researched.
Loving these series
I Love watching this gamemode
I'm so sad he didn't comment on the British person saying the Pirate is now a privateer, that was hilarious.
Houfnice + Torsion + Arquebus would be a combination from hell
35:59 T90 "They don't have the brainpower that I do"
36:01 Also T90 "WOOOOOOOO THE ZOOMIES"
dude i love this mode. I'm fully adicted to your videos AGAIN!
this as so much breaking the game potential : death-star trebuchets,
(with relics) lithuanian, francs, berbers , cumans, poles, bulgarian (and maybe others ) : you could have super strong knights, free of gold, that attack 330% faster, does + 12 damage, and Cavalry moving at light speed.
the bugged monument reset made this a very stressful and fun game
Lol, when Scorpions become akin to C&C Generals' GLA Rocket Buggies :P
Hey T90, if you find yourself having trouble figuring out where stats come from, you can just mouse over them and it will show you the upgrades modifying it!
Loved this, more plz!
I first played this mod in a random lobby. I was Malay and my ally was Huns, so my elephants were free and built instantly. Goths should be insane - free infantry that builds instantly from dark age.
Congrats on the engagement!
Danm... that fast castle time
Yo congrats on the engagement, T90!
42:30 Evil T90 is revealing himself
How funny would it be if you were Burgundians and you could research the "Flemish Revolution" and convert all your enemies eco into military! Also, I want to see Spanish in this mode.
OMG, if that works like that, that would be insane
Celts and Khmer again... There are some really cool combos, almost disappointed it ended up being the same one twice
Next game you should ban them both so that players can explore other metas
you could cripple your team with mayans lol
blue taking on pre much everyone at the end was sick wish they won it
I can't wait for one with all the trebuchet unique techs and bonuses.
These are so good, do more T90!
I think blue and yellow weren't allied when the unique scorpion tech was researched, but i don't know which tech it was.
Instant production from stables and free hussar line and free buildings. Just build stables, delete villagers, and build infinite free hussar. Just need to get the middle first and then hold it with bodies.
Uhhh boy, here we go again !
YES ! Strasbourg ! omg T90 est venu! I am from Strasbourg, yes this city is straight coming out of AOE2 in some insights hahaha damn, didn't think he'd give a shout out to strasbourg
i think the best x10 civs are
Byzantines
Goths
Bohemians
Lithuanians
and Persians
Tatars too because flaming camels op
also portuguese feitorias are ridiculous
and saracen markets are also insane...
is everything good????
the problem with playing Goths is that everyone else becomes better Goths, Britons have a similar problem
Franks, Sicilians, Teutons and Cumans. Some tanky Paladins!
Aztecs, Incas and Mayans - Prepare for Eldorado Insane eagles!
Didn't find anyone talking about it but maybe it was talked about in the first vid.
Was it called Flemish revolution? The tech where everyone would just have vills converted to militia? Might be a nice strat
Would the difference with the scorpion attack be if you researched a + something tech before a % tech, rather than the other way around?
