I'm not a game dev, but I am a programmer. I freaking love these vids, always so well done. Honestly, they make me think about, like... The D&D Rules section in the new 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide: The game is built on the expectation that you'll participate 'in good faith' and NOT try to bend it over backwards. They aren't trying to be working economies or realistic physics simulations, they're trying to create a fun experience for you. In programming, this is often called the 'happy path', where somebody A) knows what the system is for and B) is using it in good faith and not trying to exploit vulnerabilities. This vid is honestly showing what devs simultaneously love and hate to see: Someone not doing the happy path. Someone interfacing with the system in ways that it wasn't designed to be interfaced with. They didn't check if the OTHER pools could be accessed to affect pool rating, only that at least ONE could and if ONE could, then they must all be connected. They didn't check to see what would happen if the one pool they could access suddenly couldn't be accessed. Or if they did, they didn't do so while also making the computer the game's running on cry.

Renaming the park to "Welcome to Vietnam" after adding all the fire caught me so off guard. Very kind of Spiff to let people know what they are walking into 🥰
It's even funnier to me considering I went on holiday to actual Vietnam earlier this year and had an amazing time there, but the fire was still accurate.
I suddenly understand why our local outdoor pool, open only 5hrs a day at pre-season, which hasn't been upgraded since the 1980s, went from $2 to $7.50, because the field next door got upgraded and a new indoor pool was built 10min drive away. Thanks(?) Spiff for the educational video

Lets be honest: Spiff and Josh are the best ways for developers to stresstest their games. If there is something to break, they'll find it!
Oh , no ...
Spiff just went full "Let's Game It Out" on this one !
I love it !
1 Pool Challenge
*builds hundred small pools
No tycoon game that understands itself should ever have an online competitive challenge like that. What were they thinking?
I would never pay money to get into a bland ordinary swimming pool.
Hold up, are those lily pads and aloe vera plants!? Take my money!
I just see a Disney park executive taking notes.
I'm impressed. The game just came out and you already found a way to break it
you know you could have turned off depth of field and motion blur to stop the gaming being blurry, right?

Come for the video game exploits, stay for getting jumpscared by that one stock photo with the dad from Lake Mungo. Never gets old
I had no idea you could build massive pools and customize them to that extent!, that makes me want the game now
I have definitly never seen a Lifeguard outside of a swimming pool. They are so definitly not real
Reminds me of the original SimCity back then; I built roads not connected to anything but the people were happy with the traffic situation.
My dude. This just keeps getting better.
It’s like a Dethklok theme park at the end, love it.
The game looks fun, but the engine struggling as hard as it does within relatively normal conditions is not a great sign imo.
The lag is a glitch with the UI that they’re working on patching
Its a console game, they are usually limited by the engines they are forced to use for them.

You know Spiff's gone full on Jigsaw mode when the Doom music kicks in.
