    Mod dev here. I'll try to explain some of the confusing effects on this mod.
    AOE2 engine basically treats all bonuses as automatically researched techs, some of them available at the beginning of the game and some are unlocked behind certain ages (Ethiopian resources, Briton archer range etc). The research player shares the effects to their allies when they research a certain tech. Also there is no mechanism to unresearch a tech, so they got to keep the effects from others even if they are not allied later on.
    As for the polish farm, the quantity of food in a farm is tied to the farm upgrade techs of the farm owner, but the amount instantly harvested is tied to the techs of the polish player(and whether this effect is shared with allies). Also under the hood it's coded not as a percentage but the raw number of food, so it might break with Chinese/Sicillian bonuses.

      I think you should be able to make it change everyone to ally for 1 second every I dunno.. 5 minutes so everyone keeps getting everyone's tech as the game goes on

    Start the game as everyone is an ally.
    When the monument is discovered allies can be turned off.
    If someone invades your base before that time you are free to turn them enemy to keep them out.

    I really think Teutonic imp unique tech would be godly. +30 range for your castles and castle fire already reveals the map when they fire into the fog of war, so everyone will have death stars blasting across the entire map

      The LOS is capped at 20 by the game and a castle can only attack something outside its LOS if it is in that player's some other unit or building's LOS. So it would not reveal the map but yes it would fire death stars very far.

    since t90 and chat are so confused about the relic: Burmese see all relics at game start. the 10x version is they start with a relic in their tc. so this adds up to 8 relics to a map.
    also concerning sheep: while Britons eat them very fast there is another bonus in action: Tatars gather +50% from herdables which means each sheep actually has 6000 food. each Tatar tc in castle or later provides 12k food.

      I'm confused about the sheep - standard is 100 food, Tatar is +50%, 10x that is +500% so 600 total? Why is it 1,000 in the video?

      @@samhairle Tatars get 2 sheep for a TC, instead of spawning 20 sheep, it spawns 2 sheep with 10x the amount of food. The +50% from herdables doesn't appear on the sheep, it just lasts 500% longer meaning for every 1 food on the sheep a villager can gather 6 food.

    One of my favorite combos with my friends was a 5v3 with a treb build. Tatars, Britons, Ethiopians, Japanese, Saracens. Those trebs were basically nukes with 500 attack, huge blast damage, and 30 range. Definitely my recommendation for FFAs lol

    Even just the rampant speculation about what players might go for makes this worth it. So fun! Thanks for doing more videos about this mod, these settings are great.
    Edit: Seems like you need to make a custom mod or something that gives all the civ techs right from game start or something, or ignores ally settings for the shared civ techs.

    CYAN MVP!!! Villager rush takes down the tyrant!
    I can't believe this! Green swoops into the middle, outranged by purple trebs, confronted by huge splash damage blue, who is outranged by yellow longbows and overwhelmed by red elephants and then have their entire base destroyed by cyan who have been hiding in the back. Meanwhile, orange stuck in their base wondering what's happening out there. Oh and grey stuck with a tiny base. Damn, purple even won too, even tho green score was crazy

    Will you get the unique techs when you ally someone?
    Could you add something in the mod, that auto allies and instantly put them back to enemy every 5-10min or so, so the bonuses would get around.
    That could also make it interesting, because there would be a time window where only the person researching would profit from his own bonus, but everyone would get it later.

    yeah so things you dont know and frankly Im smashing my head into the pc when nobody can figure them out, as I am a veteran for this mod. Here goes: Poles folwark bonus is great, it should change everyones mill to folwark. The civ bonuses are per your civ, so to get age upgrades from other civs, those civs have to reach said age. In regards to this video, ethiopians need to reach feudal, for the bonus to apply to everyone. Doesnt matter what age you are in. If a player with portuguese gets into imperial, other person can build Fetoria even in dark age, if he so desires. Extremely cool combo with this is when you have bengalis who spawn 20? vills per tc upon reaching another age and a civ that build cheap and fast tcs like I dont know, incas, and then you have cumans, basically cumans and bengalis reach feudal, and once you get to castle age you can spawn a horde of 400 villagers easily. I had around 2k vills in one of my games, the game almost erupted. A thingy about the folwarks, poles ahve it so they collect 99% of their farm, and the bonus scales with the size of their farm, so assuming pole has all the upgrades, then the farms will collect 549 food or something, and you can see, that some people who are missing the last upgrade run out of the farm upon building it and dont reseed automatically bcs of this. There is also the second problem, when you have more food on the farm than the pole player, you are stuck with farms that have 150 food left.

    How about start as ally. You can switch to enemy at any point, knowing you will lose the option of picking up those techs. However make it once you've enemied someone, you can't ally them back. Then factor in the monument countdown timer, there will eventually become pressure to enemy people.

    1:03 I am not sure modding for this works but if you could have a computer player who is allies with them all and gets all the techs anyone else researches that could be a way to propagate all the techs to every while its still a free for all.

    This farm simulator is sick. Imagine: Poles, Sicilians, Chinese, Teutons for cheap farms with tons of food. Probably 2 farmers and 4 on lumber to support hussar spam of ~190. Hahaha.

      no, nothing goes negative except starting res. which means chinese, huns and mayans can't play nomad because a tc needs res. every discount goes to free, some discount bonuses are widened however, e. g. Burmese free lumber camp techs makes additionally lumber camps free.

      I thought about it, but nah.
      If you get stuck with a bad ally, 1/2 your team's firepower is gone. Too variable with team balance.
      ALSO, 4 players to a team means 4 civ bonuses.

    Oh man, I recently ran an experiment with Bombard Cannons on this mod. 3 bombard civs is scary. I will say in 4v4 Imp, Celts+Ethiopians+Turks+Bohemians is unstoppable, and if you replace one civ with Slavs, the bombards are free- the houfnize have 3400 health + 20 health, 140 base damage, insane attack speed etc. Annihilates a group of castles in seconds and everything around a tc with its aoe.

      Don’t try the Sicilians on the same team with Byzantines and use the 10x civ bonus mod because buildings get too much health and the donjons explode from bonus health going into the negatives from being over-limits due the Byz building hp buff.

    This was the best best thing I have ever seen!!!
    Look at the story of blue....
    - People slowly unlocking the farm hack
    - Green domintating in the beginnning but got owned why the long range terbs
    - Then blue funny in the beginning with friendly fire and then super cool with the kills
    - Blue dominating, just woning everyone till only 50 years left and then
    .
    .
    FIRE RAINING FROM THE SKIES!!!!
    - True ex machina momonet with brit range coming in so cluth and red barely scrambling to to reset the clock
    - Now blue stabilizes and starts owning the middle again. Everyone agian is ganging up but blue is holding and holding and holding... And then we see
    .
    .
    Indestribitble viallagers viping out blue from the middle! Frigging villagers. And blue could no nothing about it. And that was the sad ending for the once dominatnt blue.
    the rest had some craziness and was fun. Purple deserved the victory event though green eventually figured to a way to block him, just not in time.

    There was so much amazing in this. Two things I will pick to point out: I wished that Teal just sent in his vills to all the basses and not fight the army. That gate was next level, needed that a few minutes before. Absolutely great.

    So to explain the farms, it's based on upgrades on the Pole player farms. Basically with no upgrades it will always do 175 food immediately for everyone. But if someone other than the Polish player gets horse collar, that amount will remain 175 food and leave 75 food on the farm. If the Pole player gets horse collar though, the amount obtained will change for everyone. So ideally you want to remain at the same farm upgrade level as the Pole player, and if you go above that it will break and you'll have to start manually doing things. The Sicilian and Chinese bonus also break it and while you'll still get 100% of the base farm amount, the bonus amount is not included in that.
    This also applies to certain other bonuses, such as Ethiopian food and gold upon advancing or Dravidian wood. Players don't get these resources when they advance, but rather when the Ethiopian or Dravidian player advances. Same with all bonuses that ramp with age such as horse speed with Cumans, only changing when the Cuman player advances through the age, or any armor/attack bonuses. Also the same with anything that unlocks at a later age, such as the Feitoria which people can only build once the Portuguese player advances (regardless of your own age, meaning you can build one as early as dark age if the Portuguese player is in Imp).

    Ok, T90, hear me out for 2 potential combos for this game mode. I have NO IDEA if this will work, but if it does, it seems nuts.
    Combo 1: "Ending world hunger"
    Civ 1: TOOOtons. Free farms
    Civ 2: Sicilians. Farm techs give +1000% food
    Civ 3: Poles. The civ that made me think of this strategy. It all rides on how the Folwark works here. Normally, it instantly collects 10% of the farms food when the farm is made. 10% should become 100%. Meaning it will instantly eat the farm. The farms are free, and with all the bonuses stacking, will have thousands of food on them a piece. Set the farms to auto re-seed (they are free, why not) and every 15 seconds, you will generate 100's of THOUSANDS of food PER MINUTE from 1 single fully saturated Folwark. an 8 villager eco is now providing unlimited food thats not dependant on wood. BUT WAIT, there's more!
    Civ 4: Franks. Those previously mentioned Farm upgrades are now free
    Civ 5: Burgundians. Once we get the Vinyards, farms now also generate gold* (get rid of Burgundians if the Folwark sucking up all the farm food doesn't give us a bunch of gold. Keep them if the Folwarks dont instantly suck up all the farms or if the gold does come to us instantly)
    Civ 6: Chinese. +100% food on farms. Because we need even more food, obviously.
    Civ 7: Saracens. 0.5% market rate with infinity food to sell? YES PLEASE!
    Civ 8: Filler. If the Folwarks do NOT instantly eat up the farms, make this Slavs so the farmers work faster. If they DO eat up the entire farm at once, Slav farming bonus is useless so...
    With this combo, there is infinity food that generates in such obscene quantities and speed. It MIGHT also produce infinity gold, depending on how the Burgundian thing works out. And of course we're on Forest nothing, so we also have effectively infinity wood. If this works out, stone becomes literally the only "precious" resource...but thanks to the Saracens, the market stays super healthy.
    I have solved world hunger and stopped income inequality at the same time. I'll take my Nobel Peace Prize thank you.
    Combo 2: "Creating a resource utopia in the last combo created genetically altered super humans"
    Civ 1: Spanish. I think you already see where this is going.
    Civ 2: Hindustani. Gotta make those villagers cheap. And by cheap, I mean free
    Civ 3: Bengali. And not take up any population. INIFINITY UNITS!
    Civ 4: Portugese. Our workers are far too busy fighting to worry about farming, chopping, and mining. So we need resources somehow.
    Civ 5: Poles. Villagers now regenerate 200hp/minute. We have turned them into Wolverine from the X-men.
    Civ 6: Persians. To make the town centers be able to create villagers, that are free, super powered, and take up ZERO population...be trained STUPID fast. In imperial age, they'll be built 3x as fast. If my maths right, that's every 8~ seconds.
    Civ 7: Malians. Better make sure our primary military building, the town center, can defend itself. And now it costs 0 wood.
    Civ 8: Berbers. We made them super strong, now lets cap it all off by making them move super fast.

    i found a crazy combo. a team of Bulgarians, Tatars and Teutons.
    Teutons build rams, Tatars build Keshigs (no need for elite). Bulgarians research 33% cavalry attack speed. Tatars set Teutons to enemy so they can attack the rams.
    This is a crazy gold waterfall, flooding all 3 (with sling) with endless gold. a single Teuton ram will give 1000 gold or more, so even without any tribute tech this is positive with very low pop space.

    A suggestion T90: Have the game start at war but use the editor to auto ally anyone who is defeated to the person that defeats them, thus imparting the bonuses. Would be kinda cool for a very cutthroat game because if you kill the enemy you get their civ bonuses. Combo with exploding kings and it would be a mad house lol

      @@jjh7611 exactly. Could be a fun fast and crazy one. Especially considering everyone would wanna snipe, so you have Allies who I think would be way more willing to betray since if they don’t? Their enemy gets way stronger. But I also think just FFA would work too.

      If you toggle allies on and off, can you gain their tech?
      So if you see someone with a tech you don't have, toggle allies to get it.

      That got me thinking about if it would work or not. So I looked it up.
      In diplomacy games, team bonuses are treated like a tech. Which in layman's terms, it means that if you are allied at the start of the game it should be shared, and if you're not allied at the start of the game it should not be shared. Regardless of if you change diplomatic stance mid game.
      This also seems to be how the mod was expected to work. So if/when it doesn't work, it is a problem with the mod. Not a feature of the game.
      Toggling allies on/off might work if the mod is acting funny. But shouldn't work according to the base game.

    Have we seen what happens in one of these FN games with the Mayans and their resource bonus? The way it seems to work is they take the normal amount of resources but the source is depleted less, so would their bonus make the trees last infinitely or just need hundreds of trips to be cleared? Seems pretty game-breaking either way.

      I looked up my own question, the way the resource bonus is calculated is wonky. There are two separate counters for resources, one for the villager's stockpile and one for the resource. The Mayan bonus alters the way the resource counter works, so instead of the villager's resource counter ticking up 1 and the resource ticking down 1 every time the counter ticks, for the Mayans the villager ticks up 1 but the resource ticks down .85. This means that for the 10x bonus, the resource counter should, in theory, never tick down and make the trees have infinite resources. (I think)

      @@ASpice11 the mod doesn't multiply the reduction but the duration. if 85/100 resoures are depleted per resource gathered this means the node lasts 100/85 times as long. multiplied by 10 this 1000/85 which means a depletion rate of 85/1000 or 0.085 per resource gathered. at least it seems this way because Mayans do deplete trees but very very slow.
      for a gold mine that would mean 800 * 1000/85 = 9411 gold which is a whopping 1176% additional resources (normal Mayans get 941 gold which is actually 17% bonus).
      that sounds off, i should test it. maybe it's more like actual 10x, meaning the original absolut times 10, resulting in a 2210 gold mine which sounds much more reasonable... oh and then there are the Malians with 30%

    Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but I'm pretty sure the explanation for what is going on with the farms is as follows: Since everyone gets the poles bonus multiplied by 10, they all get 100% of the food when the farm is built. However, since the civ bonuses only seem to be shared once at the start of the game, the maths for Folwarks is based off of dark age farms and does not get updated when you research farm upgrades. So before anyone researched horse collar, they were getting 100% of 175 food, which is 175 (obviously). However, when they got horse collar, the food on the farm went up to 250, but the game didn't recalculate the Folwark maths and therefore still only gave 175 food, leaving the remaining 75 for the farmer to collect the old fashioned way. You can see this happening at 33:29 (T90 says 275 but its really 250). The effect of course gets worse with heavy plow and crop rotation. This also explains why the Poles player was not negatively affected by the farm upgrades, as his bonus was not given by the mod, just multiplied by 10. You could test this by starting the game in post-Imperial age, in which case everyone should get the expected result from the farms.

      the folwark bonus seems to be absolute not relative and upgrades with farm upgrades. everyone was allied at start, so everyone got the base folwark from their ally but at the time of horse collar the Poles had no allies to share the bonus to, so everyone was stuck at base food.
      interesting question is now, does crop rotation add to it or reset it, so if you unally before horse collar but really before crop rotation, do you get full or base + crop rotation (without horse collar amount)?

      @@thebiggestdan8639 it's all about being allied with Poles when they research horse collar/crop rotation. now if the food from folwark is an absolute amount you might even get horse collar food without researching it yourself. i can't test that sort of stuff since i only have the base game so for things about Poles, Sicilians, Burgundians etc i can only guess.

    Can someone explain why there is so much confusion on the „do they need to be allied“ question? There are shared bonuses videos on this channel older than this one (and t90 refers to them as well, so they actually took place earlier, and were not just uploaded earlier). And in those older videos, they had the mechanism figured out. Players stayed allied until everyone had researched the relevant tech. So did t90 and all his viewers just forget about those earlier games??? What‘s going on here?

    - there could be an option for vils fighting at least when attacked. As long as default was the current "run away" it wouldn't hurt

    Malay with any alley that grants them less expensive units. The Malay tiny bois granting the ability to summon infinite of them because 10 times half cost of pop space for them makes them free pop space. Free pop space and ability to be free you can cut spam tons of castles and summon infinite of them and no need to click them to fight because just auto click the fucking hell out of them and you have infinite of them to the point you fill the entire map with them. Having so many of them that the entire map is filled with them having them auto kill everything.
