There will be a follow up video to this covering Lightsaber Resistant Creatures, so hold your banthas before you comment about how I missed Orbalisks and the Yuuzhan Vong! ***Happy Orbalisk noises***
Great vid I didn't know about a few of these, what about Darth Bane's armour, I know it was a type of parasite so not quite "material" but still lightsabre resistant
That's an orbalisk, as mentioned I will cover the creatures in another video!
don't forget the zillo beast from star wars the clone wars
So, is it out?
5:44 I’m glad you’re keeping this family friendly
What can I say, I'm just that inclusive 😁

@@100StarWars thank you, sir
Tell Eckhartsladder thank you for telling me about this channel
Thanks a lot for coming over :)
Yeh this is a great channel that I would have never seen but glad I did
Love the inclusion of the Statue of Sistro as an example for neuranium. One of my favorite parts of Star Wars lore
a relatively uncommon piece of knowledge it seems!
One of the standout moments of the RotS novelization, that.
A pity it clashes with TCW 2008. Again, the book did say that the lightsaber was hidden there for so many long years... when in that show, it was used against the likes of Maul and Savage Oppress. So much for years.
I really loved this! It was extremely interesting to hear of all the materials and especially how cortosis is able to short out lightsabers, similar to how original red blades were capable of shorting out a normal lightsaber blade in long duels! Thanks Sj for the video suggestion!
Indeed, thank you SJ!
So we've got 3 canon materials resistant to lightsabers: Beskar, Cortosis, and Neuranium. I'd say that's enough personally, if we get too many more than that it will start to become a problem if more people aren't able to contend with lightsabers using these resistant materials. But just 3 are fine especially with Cortosis being so hard to mine as well as being incredibly rare.
I think songsteel could be pretty cool to add to canon.
@@100StarWars Yes, this would work too, since it isn't used anymore, so materials like that don't become more common.
Four. You forgot about phrik.
And it’s been my headcanon for a while that Temple Guard armor is made out of Phrik.
We also have kohlen based energy shields, but not sure if thats canon...
@@Mourtzouphlos240 Arent Grievous' Magna Guards' staves made out of phrik
Imagine a Jedi made their lightsaber with quantum crystalline metal. Would that make it the most powerful lightsaber in star wars? Sounds like Anakin needed it on genosis in the Droid factory
Another fantastic, amazing and astounding video my friend. I liked the beginning part with the Beskar seeing how it was forged in the Mandalorian for his armor and impervious to lightsaber strikes from his encounter with Ahsoka and fighting Moff Gideon. Especially fascinating all the different materials that are resistant to lightsabers. Before this the only thing I ever saw that could withstand lightsabers is the armor or skin of the Zillo beast from Clone Wars
Thank you very much!
@@100StarWars my friend I need to ask you who's more powerful Darth Vader or Darth Nihilus?
@@georgesuarez8325 lol darth Nihilus easily
Echartsladder brought me here. Watching the video on his channel i really liked your style with the videos top work. Il be watching alot more 👍
Thanks for coming over, I'm really glad you enjoyed it :)
I would love to see the jedi use green blue yellow and white lightsabers and the sith use red purple and black lightsabers
Always loved those types of mandelior pictures and there armor from revans days
Neo-Crusader armour is definitely the best in my opinion!
@@100StarWars I like the art of the old republic one's but the newest is awesome
So much to learn in the world of Star Wars. Thanks SJ for the suggestion!
Well done Luke; a pleasant surprise seeing a new video :)
*A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!*
Molecularly Bonded Armor could withstand orbital bombardment so I'm pretty sure it resists lightsabers as strong as Phrik too. You also forgot obsidian, which in Star Wars was more than just volcanic glass, as its crystalline structure and particle impurities diffused lightsaber energy into basically a flashlight glow for a few strikes before finally melting-- being the primary ingredient alongside Cortosis fibers that Sith Swords were made from because of this ability. And its important to mention that Cortosis often forms pockets of Lethane gas which detonates violently on exposure to flame, making even manual mining dangerous due to sparks thrown up by drills scraping across the energized metal.
Don't know if anyone has told you this yet but that is a really good looking map end screen!
I heard "somewhere" that you should tell people about their nice looking end screens.
Really liking that map end screen.
Ok, exaggeration aside, I found this video really interesting. I knew about some of the materials but not all of them.
I had no idea Cortosis was that dangerous to handle for example.
Great Video Sir! I'm looking forward to Lightsaber resistant Beasts and where to find them.
(But that is a rather nice looking map end screen.)
THANK YOU!!
Bro, you missed orbalisks and the Yuuzhan Vong ;)
*Breaths in and releases best Kratos impression...* 'BOY'
I don’t know about anyone else but personally I like legends and expanded universe better then actually cannon and count legends and EU as cannon
Star Wars is Star Wars!
Rumor has it Luke is a secret Jedi and have all lightsabers in the universe.
But not palpatine's! I say as I flex my Palpatine saber in Luke's DMs
Bully :((
Phrik was actually most commonly used by Sammy Classic Sonic Fan.
Were Krayt dragons from the mandalorian invunerable?
Good question, possibly?
Love the video, good work!
Thank you, Mr Pebble!
I thought that armorweave was also lightsaber resistant, but, it's still a super cool video
It is. However, it has very limited resistance, and we don't really know the extent of that limtation. So for all we know, it could block the inital strike, then a second later the saber would cut right through. So I chose not to include it simply on the basis that it has 'very limited' resistance.
@@100StarWars Ok, thanks for the answer
You're welcome!
Would love to see more songsteel, sounds like my kind of metal, next to ultrachrome.
An interesting and unique subject. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Ah yes, Luke is doing the Force’s work again
*salutes*
Totally wonderful clip .
Very educational to SW fans
I learned from it
I think quantum crystaline armour was used on star killer base where they had all those pipelines & fuel
zillo beast's scales?
Will cover in another video!
I feel like I read a book where Luke fought some sort of lava dragon, and when he tried to strike it with his lightsaber, the blade shattered. Is that a thing?
Yes - that was Jedi Search iirc
Eck is correct! Will cover that firey boi in my next video!
Magnaguard electro-staffs are made from Phrik.
You missed many, MANY materials...
Mandalorian Iron is refined to make Baskar Steel.
Awesome video :-)
Thanks a million!
You're very welcome :)
Extra upfists for saying that quantum-chrystalline armor should stay dead.
Im surprised no form of specialized titanium since their is form of steel, iron, and chrome that can resist lightsabers.
This video was in my recommended after i saw Eckhartsladder's video
Hello there ;)
Forgot PLOT ARMOR
These are nice, but to be frank, winning against Jedi, Dark Jedi, and Sith without these would be more... cathartic and awesome.
What about Orbalisk’s
Thanks
No problem!
Where that orbalisk armor
Do we know who is the first Human Mandalore? Cause I understood up until Mandalore the Ultimate the majority of them were Taungs and few Mandalore were men... funny how many people think The Ultimate is a human
Canderous to my knowledge.
Isn’t it beskar steel? Not iron
If only they would make a Star Wars Minecraft.
That would be quite something!
@@100StarWars Yes it would.
Love Mandalorian culture
Lots of people do :)
I still prefer the Cathar Honor Sword..... meow 😺
Cortosis to my knowledge :)
