So many amazing birds! I'm Australian so seeing a Black Swan in the Northern Hemisphere is odd to see. Looked happy though so that's great! We get a few lost birds here. Most recent was an American Golden Plover that was cool to see. We've also had one Yellow Wagtail that really flew off course a few years ago & landed in a Victorian coastal town reserve. It's kind of sad that they're all by themselves but hopefully they find their way home safely.

Unfortunately i didnt have the full 24 hours as planned, so i had to do 11-5 but got a total of 64 which included Purple Heron (british lifer), Little Tern, Common Sandpiper, Hobby, Greenshank and Temminck's Stint which were all year ticks. Some really good stuff through the day, Bittern, Reed and Sedge Warblers, Marsh Harrier.

Good total. I thought 80 would be hard to crack but you worked hard for it. Congrats on passing 200 as well. 7 months to find 40 birds sounds easy but I imagine it's all the hard ones now.

Because I was visiting my mum in Oswestry, I happened to be near you that day and tossed a coin about whether to go where you did first thing or head to Lake Vyrnwy. Chose to go to Lake Vyrnwy (ruclips.net/video/8rXT_Uhfxjg/видео.html) because Pied Flycatcher, Redstart and Wood Warbler are pretty easy there. Had already seen Whinchat and Tree Pipit close to home in the east of England. Wasn't doing the Global Big Day myself, but admired your perseverance! Weren't there Black Guillemots in the bay at Cemlyn? I've seen them there before, and they're certainly at Holyhead Harbour? Went on my own to your first stop in the evening and saw my first hen harrier (male of female) there in many dozens of visits. Hope there's a pair and that they breed. I am not sure that they do shoot grouse there do they? Certainly not legally.
