This is the best I have seen Simone since 2018/2019 gymnastic seasons.
Agreed I really don’t see her regressing. Shes been getting better and better even with age. Yes 27 is young but you typically don’t see athletes getting better and better the older they get. Simone is the opposite imo and I really am excited what else she has in store. I just pray she stays safe.

I agree. I missed her beam but I’m going to go back and watch it.
She went out of bounds but the heels didn’t touch the floor so she doesn’t lose any points for that.

Great show guys! Hi Spencer 😊 I've got to admit Skye surprised me. She wasn't on my radar due to her inconsistency. I'm overjoyed about Suni! I'm hoping she upgrades her bars for day 2.

@@meredithchoez The way they have been choosing the team by using all around scores, I think she needs to place higher here if possible. But who knows if they would be foolish enough to not grant Shilese petition and then maybe Suni is already a lock based on today.
Yes, fire any press that can't stay outta the way of athletes! Also I always feel bad when the camera chases the athlete after their event/when they're recovering.
Skye's difficulty and performances impressed me. Suni was okay. Simone wowed. Jordan was great until that fall overall really good!
Suni was ok???? She was FANTASTIC!!!!! Her super watered down bars still hit a 14.3!!! Her beam with 2 major balance checks was still 14.2, her floor was GORGEOUS and without her upgrades was a 13.6 and her vault was a DTY!!!!! I am insanely proud and impressed by Suni! The doctors told her she would never do gymnastics again.
Suni was perfect! She was a leopard, smartly stalking her prey, waiting to strike. Perfect pace, no major errors, some issues, nothing horrible, fixable. her first aa complete program... she is lookin right on track. Perfect coaching. Gaining confidence, comp endurance. Exciting.

This meet was crazy. So many highs and lows. Heart broke for Trinity. Heart SOARED for Suni and Skye!!!!! Skye still worries me with her consistency issues. Simone was brilliant ofc. Jordan was excellent besides that floor issue. Jade was disappointing. Leeanne was WONDERFUL and stupidly underscored. Kayla did well, but was very overscored. So it was such a mixed bag!
Yeah I thought Kayla did well, no major errors, but her form, and that vault scoring so high with such soft knees. I cant.
Skye's cheng vault is SOOOO much better than Jade or Josc's - form, takeoff, distance, control. Better in every way.

Thanks for this! What an incredibly competitive first night. Skye brought it, and her Cheng was so easy! Scoring was a little inflated overall? Was really proud of Leanne for a much better AA than at Classics, still has room for improvement but she is in a great place. 🙌 Hope everyone that is injured gets better fast.

Hi guys!! Thanks so much for your hard work and dedication. Up at almost 1 AM commenting on all the USAG videos from the comp. Saw you guys posted! So happy Spencer’s here! I know you hate it-but you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Sending love and good vibes! I was sooooo sad when I saw Trin pulled out!! I thought she was there and active but NBC just didn’t show her, I was wrong. I really hope she’s ok. Scary falls and bad ankle landings! I wish Kaliya and Shilese competing. Love them but good for them to rest. Do you think they will accept Kaliya’s petition? I feel good about Shi’s but am more worried about Kaliya’s. They’d be stupid not to-but it’s USAG. I’ve been seeing everyone include Suni in their team and I’m genuinely so curious as to why. To me, not showing anywhere close to full or even competitive difficulty at this point of the season is cause for concern and banking on skills that she’s never performed in competition with only the olympic trials to go doesn’t make sense to me either. Obviously her strongest events are beam and bars but she can easily be outscored by atleast 3 gymnasts on those events. Is it because she’s the AA champ why so many automatically want her on the team?
maybe because her comeback from the kidney thing (which still has never been defined and I am interested, as a physician) makes us all want to root for her. and recovery from illness is not the same as recovery from injury so two weeks actually COULD make a difference
@@isabellenelson7573 I think they're pacing Suni beautifully. And she's definitely Top 2 on bars and beam if she hits her full routines.
@@isabellenelson7573 She has already shown more than I expected actually! They said they might not even attempt floor, and I was expecting 12’s max, but she’s low 13’s! She even outscored Skye on floor yesterday! She also got a 14.3 on bars with a “second half” routine and has hit beam every competition since winter cup. She has her double full back as well. Why would you leave her off? She (in my opinion) could maybe go up in the AA at the Olympics if she keeps hitting and upgrades bars.

This meet made me realize that usa needs floor scores. Wondering what jade has cooking and what Jordan can polish up in a month.

@@alannabrown4she cleaned up her out of bounds deductions. She just gotta finesse the dismount and the 1.5 leap. I think she can do it. I think the battle between dicello and Jordan (and now skye!) will be very interesting.
@@alannabrown4 Well the only big problem today was her fall, without it she's very okay. We shouldn't count her out for one fall
In the Paris qualifying event does anyone know is it four up three count? Or three and three....

According to MSNBC, a team consists of five athletes, a change since the Tokyo Games, where teams were composed of four athletes. In qualifying, four athletes can compete in each event, with the top-three scores counting (this format is often verbally said as "four up, three count"). An athlete attempting to qualify for the all-around final has to perform on all four events (for women) or six events (for men) in order to get a cumulative all-around score. Otherwise, they will only be in contention to make individual event finals and/or team finals if they are competing as part of a team.
Team finals take place after qualification and before the all-around and event finals. The top-eight teams from qualification advance to the team final, and all eight compete in one session.
Scores start again from zero. In the team final, only three athletes can compete on a given event for each team and all three scores count toward the team final ("three up, three count"). Thus, the final team score will be the total of all 12 routines for women and all 18 routines for men.

Lol at 16 minute mark, they are talking about pass 3, the Biles to stag jump. Spencer is right, it looked out but not a conclusive angle. The pass they showed close up (with her heels raised to stay in) was pass 4, double lay. Regardless, she was amazing in every way. What a complete meet and well deserved aa score over 60.
My team thinking now is 1. Simone 2. Shilese 3. Kayla 4. Skye 5. Jade?

1000000% SUNI was INCREDIBLE last night!! She hit 4/4, did her DTY for the first time in forever, hit her bars with a 14.3 even tho it's like a super easy routine for her, hit a 14.2 beam with 2 big checks, and had a gorgeous floor routine at a 13.6! I mean, come on! She is such a lock!

I noticed that too. I forgot who it was, maybe Jade , but it looked like the line judge wasn’t paying attention and then almost put up the flag and then didn’t; like she wasn’t sure.

@@Mcat2040 Yes, on the one pass , Simone stayed on her toes and didn’t put her heals down, saving her from going out-of-bounds. I believe they showed that in the replay. I was talking about a different pass but I’m not sure whom it was. I’ll have to watch floor again. 🙂
The heels were not on the floor that’s why it doesn’t count as out of bounds

I love this show but they don't do any deep analysis, the lady just talks about what goes on behind the scenes and fawns over the gymnasts like an over excited child!!
