Hi! I just started airbrushing recently and I was wondering if it's normal for the texture of the shirt to change when you paint over it? Like when I paint on a shirt it looks like the fabric got pulled up or something (like it looks "hairy").
Hey! It's hard to tell without seeing, but it sounds like you're applying too much paint to the shirt. It does take a lot of practice!

I use water based acrylics made for airbrushing. They're just thinned down to flow smoothly. Createx, spectratex, aquaflow, and Etac are some good brands

How many nozzles do you use for airbrush on t-shirt media and how many penbrushes do you use?

I have 24 Airbrushes. Each one only has one .5mm nozzle
means one penbrush for one paint color?
nozzle 0,5 can be used for realists too?
You can easily swap colors, you don't need one for each color. I do, because I paint so much.
.5mm is very versatile, but you'll need some hands on experience before you're ready to paint realism
So it doesn't have to be a pen brush for every color.
maybe I will need your experience for me to learn airbrush ....

Generic Beginner tips.. hmm.
Keep the air down while you paint, it's not a spray can.
Get close to the shirt/surfact. Less than 1inch away usually
Paint with your whole upper body, use your elbows, waist, not your wrists.
And yes, practice!

I’m talking around and about 50-90
@Wes Hawks looks like he is using an Omni 3000 by Badger, they're around $80-$100 I believe. A lot of people will probably disagree but for starting out and keeping cost down I would recommend looking into a Master from someone like tcpglobal. Just make sure whatever you get it is dual action. Take the money you save on the brush and put towards a couple extra needles and more bottles, you'll need them. If you decide you don't like spraying you aren't out a lot going that route. In my opinion spend the money on the compressor, those cheap ones will only make you frustrated. I have a Dagr but there are times I still grab my cheap trusty Master just to play around.
Hey Wes! You can definitely get an Airbrush for under $90.
I must say I absolutely do not recommend a "Master" Airbrush. They simply do not work well, and you'll get very frustrated with Airbrushing before you've had a good experience.
