I have taken this 400mg daily since June. Still progressing well with blood sugar and weight loss goals, but I have been doing other things in tandem. Couldn't separate this herb out specifically. Maybe it is helping with cravings. They have seemed much better controlled since early summer.
Just started the supplement, my blood sugar was a little higher than 200 and in a little longer than an hour I tested 101 I am very interested to continue using it as directed and verifying with testing.
@@Barbarian___ I have noticed no difference between the brands I have taken. I am currently buying on Ebay, the cheapest pills they have. I take as directed wehn splurging, otherwise half as directed. I have had no effects in over a decade other than normal blood sugar.
Hey :) i've started to take both gymnema and Dihydroberberine lately. and my craving for carbs has gone up!? Gymnema when taken by caplet knocks out the ability to taste sugar for approx. 30 mins.
I have been using in a product called Sugar Control Keto living by nature’s plus. I have only used one bottle for a month. But does seem to help with Metformin to help lower my blood sugar after I take it. It appears to be short acting.
my sister in law is a prof at uni of louisville and was asking whether she could bring some nursing students to the conference? I think she'll probably get in touch through official channels to ask you.
I'm trying a supplement with 2g in it after meals. It is making me less hungry. Now I am worried, statins to me are evil. I associate them with Alzheimer's. Are you saying gymnema is like statins?
Supposedly statins block CoQ10 which blocks HDL production. CoQ10 is important for health of the liver and heart and muscles I think. It appears Gynema might also do the same. If so it may have similar side effects. Can you confirm please?
I found that salted sauer kraut, with the tiniest amount of artificial sweetner added takes my cravings for sugar away. Every day I have one or two small mouthfuls of that sauer kraut and I don't even think of eating sugary foods.
@@PrevMedHealth Yes, all of those too. Whenever I definitely 'want something' to eat but I don't know what to eat I will try a couple pinches of salt, a little water, sauer kraut or last resort, a tbsp of peanut butter. I've only 'cheated' once in 20 months of keto and it was before I had all those things in place.
Doesn't any "sugar" that goes to a receptor trigger insulin secretion? Coffee black, or coffee with cream doesn't trigger insulin - but coffee with artificial sweeteners DO, apparently. Insulin starts, autophagy stops - seems like this chemical would have the same effect? Not sure what good it'll do.
The teabags taste nice but I do add sweetener. Sugar doesn't taste the same afterwards, its like cardboard!... Its only my first cuppa and I had a sweet 10 mins after to test, as I've got a terrible sweet tooth. And I could barely taste the sweet.! I need to loose a stone and the reason I haven't been able to is sugar cravings so ill carry on and see. I got it from ebay. 👍

It hasn't for me. I have taken it for a little longer than three months. I think it is a help, but as I told him, I can't pen it to this specifically because I do a lot of things.
Thanks, Dr.Brewer. I do not currently take it. I believe that more research needs to be done on its effectiveness before I would consider taking it. I have been trying some berberine (1500mg/day) but it doesn't seem to have a large effect if any. I've reduced my Crestor dosage to 5mg/day to see if has any effect on my fasting blood sugar. If not at the end of 90 days, I may try some Metformin. I'm a walking g experiment.
Same here with Berberine. Taking 1,000-1,500 mg a day for the last three weeks. I’m Keto and heavy IF. 36 hrs-48 twice a week. My blood glucose average prior to berberine experiment was 92, post berberine it’s up to 98. I plan on finishing the bottle and then will start on metformin as well.
I stopped taking metformin because 1. Some batches were having zero effect and others were fine. The pharmacy buys whatever is cheapest source that week. 2. Significant number of recalls due to contamination at an increasing number of India factories. Conclusion this stuff is potentially dangerous. Not worth getting diarrhea.
What brand is good?

Dr. Brewer, it has helped me with my sugar cravings. Very effective.
Thanks for sharing that.
Hello 👋 How dit you take it?
Even your fruits cravings?
Gymnema Sylvestre capsules are helpful in controlling obesity and increasing the secretion of insulin and lower down the blood glucose level.
I have taken this 400mg daily since June. Still progressing well with blood sugar and weight loss goals, but I have been doing other things in tandem. Couldn't separate this herb out specifically. Maybe it is helping with cravings. They have seemed much better controlled since early summer.
Thanks for sharing that. It’s hard to separate out with more interventions than subjects.
It wasn’t clear what interaction there would be between gymnema sylvestre and a statin? Should one avoid gymnema if taking a statin?
Just started the supplement, my blood sugar was a little higher than 200 and in a little longer than an hour I tested 101 I am very interested to continue using it as directed and verifying with testing.
Wow that's huge. Have you noticed this drop everything?
Gymnema is very effective, more so than any prescribed diabetic medicine in my experience.

looking into it I think maybe the conference will be more for patient information?
I’d love to have the nursing students. They can get in touch through MyHealth@PrevMedHeartRisk.com. Or (615) 266-6081.
I usually have about 1/3 dentists & doctors in the audience. Since self-care & lifestyle are the most important part of prevention, it works for both.

I never heard that.
Blood sugar level has reached 385 after eating some fruits. After taking gurmar one hour later it has been 145 .
Wow! Thanks for sharing
any side effects? for how much time should it be taken.

That’s very interesting! I’ve been doing that for different reasons:
1. Little/no calories; and
2. Probiotics; and
3. Still filling.

That is a common “fact” on the web. But I haven’t seen strong evidence. It’s supposed to be a minimal “cephalic” phase Insulin response.
So is it ok to take if you are on a statin?
