I agree if I had the person's apple id I wouldn't need this video. The title is not for someone who found a macbook and tried to contact the owner but they blocked him from Facebook so now I have a macbook that is locked that the owner isn't claiming.
You can NOT get rid of someones Apple ID with this method. When you buy a motherboard or MacBook that is IC locked or has find my turned on, this will NOT work. The only way is if you know the device passcode, and if they didn't check "Use my Apple ID to reset passcode on this device" on device setup, you wont get the option to sign out with the device passcode in these options. The only foolproof way to get rid of an Apple ID without any previous owners info is to desolder the BIOS/security chip from the main board and reprogram it.
That sounds interesting, now reprogram the bios chip that i dont know how to do, but what about DSDT , for example a patched DSDT Could be implemented into a rea mac by using the OPENCore legacy patcher if your familiar with that. but that would be the way to at least from that angle anyways make a attempt at that.

nothing insensitive about it, sorry. I actually did use the 2 facts you told me that’s all. If the person did not trust you or anyone else with the password than they did not want anyone using their device. this is not an assumption, this is a fact. for example in my family - we all know each other’s passwords and some family members made sure by writing them down and telling us where to find the passwords.

I researched a lot about erasing the macbook without the apple id and see that that is doable, but I just encountered an article about activation lock. Will it prevent me from erasing since the owner seems like they do not want to recover their apple id anymore? Should I buy it? What else should I check before buying it?
never buy a Mac with activation lock. not worth it. activation lock means it was stolen. Don’t believe the fake story the seller gives you. if the owner forgot the password they could have just reset the password in 10 seconds. luckily Apple has made it easier to track down stolen macs and hopefully the real owner will find it

Any luck?
Good video. So if I buy a Mackbook Pro 2020 M1, that shows up locked and I don't know the old password, can this method work to get a factory reset?
did you watch the video ?
@@TechandDesign I did but I didn't hear what computer you were working on.
works on any Mac really. But my advice is don't buy a Mac that the seller doesn't know the Apple ID password. It just means its stolen - no matter what they say
@@TechandDesign Thanks for the advice. I've decided to buy a clean Macbook Pro 13" M1 without issue at a reasonable price. My search continues.
When I do this process will the information in the notepad and locked notes be deleted?
everything will be deleted from the Mac yes
I have a Mac that was my work computer but after leaving the company they let me keep it. I followed your steps but there is still the ownership that states it’s company owned so I can’t proceed cause it would install all the company data again. Can I delete ownership?
since your company let you keep it , just ask them for the password so you can factory reset it and activate it using your own Apple ID
I have a MacBook air 2020. When I press & hold the power button, all it does is pop up the apple logo, then the screen goes black. What am I doing wrong?

is it a used Mac ? or you just bought it from a store?
@@TechandDesign got it at a garage sale. They lost the charger for it and it was dead. They didn't know any of the passwords.
not knowing the password means stolen since they could have just reset the password in under 1 minute.
just return it since it’s probably iCloud locked and black listed

yes, this is for newer macs. you need to follow this other video for yours: ruclips.net/video/cgQ7iCzyL58/видео.html
@@TechandDesign Thanks for quick response. I followed the video you referred but command R brings the rotating globe. When it's finishes it goes in to activation mode because of previous owners apple ID.
just ask the owner for the password so you can restore it. that’s usually done when you are in the process of purchasing the Mac. you restore it with the owner in front of you.
it’s a good way to test the Mac at the same time
@@TechandDesign That would be very easy. The problem is we are a school and students are graduated. There is no way of get a hold of them. This is why I want to completely format and reinstall the OS.

nothing insensitive about it, sorry.

What about activation lock? I was offered an MBA 2020 13" for $400. The laptop won't let them log in with their apple id and they don't want to do the hassle of solving it. Take note that I do not personally know the seller. They said they have receipts of purchase from California. We are in Asia.
Don’t believe the fake story the seller gives you. if the owner forgot the password they could have just reset the password in 10 seconds. luckily Apple has made it easier to track down stolen macs and hopefully the real owner will find it
Hi thanks for this video, you explained all things there. But I just wandering as I am getting updated macOS over the recovery window. Any suggestions for that? I am using 2018-Ratina - MacBook Air. Hello it works on the m1?
yes
if there not risk after we reset the computer that the old user try to block again the macbook?
you need to factory reset the macbook so the previous owner cannot block it ever since its no longer his.
But if you dont factory reset, than the owner can black list it at any time

same thing here
I don’t know the password or iCloud account , how do I get rid of the activation Lock Screen
so, when you buy a used Mac , the first thing you do is factory reset it like in this video, that way you will be sure it’s not stolen and you have the chance to test it out.
at this point - you should return it
He just put the computer password . Computer password and Apple ID password are NOT the same
God there's so many people in the comments that most likely stole a mac lmao
yup. those are the only angry people, the thiefs that are stuck with a useless mac since the owner blacklisted it
