- In this Episode we explore the HVLP and LVLP world by putting to the test both of these guns that will operate at a much lower pressure. The results is less overspray and much more paint savings! We also confirm that LVLP are much better choices for DIYers using smaller compressors!

What compressor size minimum i need for paint ??
The way you reinforce ideas in each and every video is super impressive, excellent teaching skills!
Well done. Beginner to start with spray here from South Africa. Very nicely explained. Only 63 and starting as a hobby for myself. Also going to spray wood furniture.
Another great looking paint job! Great blending tip again. That Italco looks pretty nice.
Your videos are great. I like the fact that you explain every detail, even that the first clear coat will be peely.
Don’t fixate on the car when you can situate it instead. Pro tips. If you’re spraying scared, you’ve already lost, don’t let the car own you. Don’t overthink it, it’s only paint. You rock Brian. I love your show. Awesome.
So true!
If you’re looking to purchase one of these guns you’ll have to use the “Contact Tab” located in the links in the description. Once contacted they can process an order. As of now, they are not listed on amazon or eBay. At least the real version.
Do you think I could get with small jobs like the you're working on with a Dewalt 27 gal 200 psi compressor with these specs?
5.1 SCFM at 90 PSI provides faster recovery times resulting in increased project efficiency
6.8 SCFM at 40 PSI provides the ability to operate a HVLP spray gun
Also its on sale for 469$ sounds like a decent price.
@@austinstephensparks I'm using a 50l compressor and a lvlp gun and have zero problems. Just for bike fairings ,frames etc though
Great video Brian. I'd like to see you review the two guns i have, but haven't used yet. The Eastwood Concours LT and the Eastwood Concours Pro . Both are supposed to be able to work with smaller compressors. I personally will be using a 29 gallon Central pneumatic compressor.
Always awesome! Excellent explanation throughout the process.
Nice tape job, no overspray all over the place.
Always wanted to see how paint is blended.
Very cool
Thank you for all the Paint vids!! 🙌🙌
Lot of very important information, even after my twenty years experience in painting. Thx Brian)
My father painted the same way you do. I was right beside him alot in the body shop. Breathing in that Dupont paint and clear! Miss the smells lol
Love watching you spray a car I've learned so much from u thanks
Thanks Brian you are the man God bless you for everything we can learn a lot from you
Just wanted to say much respect for ur talent for painting well done
Funny how I was always told to get plenty of pain on the edges! You can never get enough on edges! Love your work and your videos! Regards from the uk 🇬🇧
These types of vids are so helpful. I hear so many people saying things like "Just go buy the correct tool for the job." I agree with that in most situations, but an 80 gallon 10 hp 30 cfm compressor is north of 3 grand. Most of us DIY'ers aren't gonna drop that much on a compressor and don't have the room for it in our garages when we only need it once every five years for doing a touch up or a body panel here or there.
not only the money for the compressor but your house have to have enough left in the electric box to handle a 10 horse motor. Good chance in these older homes you don't have it
Came out super smooth! Amazing work. Big fan of yours all the way from South Africa I watch all your videos . I have a small shop and specialize in motorcycle spray painting since 2014 but I've learned so much in the last 6 months from your channel. Keep up the good work!
Awe boet 👍
Awesome video. Appreciate the effort you put into these 👍🏻
plenty of useful info. lively presentation. awesome painting skills. Thanks.
Your videos are so great. Massively insightful!
Great work lots of info which is really amazing it’s help me so much with my painting.😎
Wow! 115k subs already. Great job man!
Thank you !
Always learning watching your videos.Thanks
Thank you for all your insights in this awesome trade.
If you're shopping for a budget compressor, stay away from the dual stage high pressure versions (175psi+). They almost always have a lower cfm rating than single stage compressors sub 150psi versions. Shop for cfm, that's what the paint gun is gonna need.
And if you're on the edge with your current compressor, you can connect another tank (if it's before any regulator so it shares the pressure relief valve).
I bought a DevilBiss SLG 610, which is a Conventional style spray gun but suitable for small compressors, and it painted my car very well :)
Very pretty accurate pressure on the regulator when comp tank was full, and when it was requiring charging :)
Love my DevilBiss.. So glad i went and bought a decent brand gun to start with..
Also 20-22psi for HVLP? I thought HVLP required alot more air pressure?!? Learn something new every day :D
Another great paintjob Brian. You inspired me to go with my own shop... Well on some part. Actually I've also doin' some artistic stuff with airbrush, but with standard paint gun I think I have pretty much same style as you. High 5 from Poland Brian! 💪🤙
I use my ANI R150 and F160 with a 20 gallon DeWalt compressor. Works pretty well.
You sure have mad skills with the gun. 👍
Hey Brian, ir would be great if you attempt to paint several pieces with an actual Small Compressor, 20-30 gallons and do another review with this same guns, but it would be more realistic. Maybe you can borrow a small compressor and throw it in to the booth. Saludos desde Honduras
I second this!

Learning and following the tutorials. Could you do a review for best compressor for paint job?
Your videos continue to impress me. I think you really have them dialed in perfect. If you have any advice for me I would love to hear it!
Love your videos. Very confidence inspiring. Thank you
Thank you for the video and information right now I’m working on two cars one painting sections of the car the other car will need to be completely repainted right now I only have a 9 gallon I would definitely buy one of the guns you recommended thanks again
Love these vids man..
Beautiful as always B 👍
Nice video mate, Im planning to get this type of set up for mobile touch ups. 👌👌
in your hands even a torn broom will build a beautiful structure❤️
Beautiful paint job. Watching from puerto rico
Great video! Can you show us more on “overlap” and what do you recommend for base coat by LVLP spray gun?
Another great video! I love the angle of the camera and the lighting that distinctly shows the texture as its laid on. Thank you so much! Do you think you can do a video in the future about what options a small shop or DIY might have for mixing paint at home? Can we just buy a subset of the toners for mixing our most commonly used colors? For a full on body shop, being able to mix any color is needed but I deal mostly with European black cars (metallic and non metallic) for example, and on occasion might need to mix a different color, so buying an entire system that goes bad isn't financially feasible. What options do we have? Thank you!
Really appreciate your videos.
Great painter even more an artist !
Nice video on lvlp and a great job thank you brian
Hi friend... Really super smooth result... Love your skills and your videos... I have a couple of fake Sata spray guns and works amazing for they low cost... So there is no reason to spend thousands of money on expensive guns if you can do the same job with those cheaper... Thank you for your demonstration friend!
For you Brian, it is not the guns you spray with that makes the difference, but your eye of experience.
The Auarita 898-2 LVLP gun literature lists its air consumption as 9-11 cfm, and the Italco Gloss X1 HVLP gun is shown as requiring 14-16 cfm. Neither of those guns are remotely close to being within the cfm output of a “regular” air compressor that operates on a 120 standard plug as you mention in the video. I thought you were going to be telling us about and demonstrating guns that would work well with a lower cfm compressor (5-7 cfm max) like those most folks have at home. Do you recommend any spray guns that actually do fit within the 5-7 cfm limitations of smaller compressors? Thanks
Needed this as well..
what's weird is it used to say 4-6 cfm on their website. On websites the gun is still being sold, it says 4-6 cfm. I wonder what changed
It is interesting to note that since you wrote this it has increased yet again to 11-13 CFM. Might as well be a low end HVLP. The only true LVLP gun I’ve seen thus far has been the SPRAYIT 33000 and the summit racing LVLP guns (supposedly it’s the same gun). Good luck
@@wcpportfolio I have summit lvlp and eastwood lt100, they are the same.
eastwood lt100, summitracing lvlp, sprayit 33000, aeropro r500, rongpeng r500.
Fantastic results 🤔👍
congratulations i´m from Mexico, i been watching your videos and your amaizing. you are a BIG GUN
This is what I am looking for . Less waste and over-spray , more control on smaller areas . I want to go to a smaller compressor for many other reasons as well . Great for smaller jobs and motorcycle gas tanks . More portable .
Thanks Brian for the awesome tutorials, i am about to test out a 50 litre or 13.2 gallon compressor with a 3hp 220L/Min 8Bar (Claimed) setup, so this is just what i was looking for. Hopefully it has enough efficiency to run a LVLP or HVLP gun with decent results, im only a fairly amature sprayer.
How did it go ? I have the same compressor setup
@@TheFlybyboy1 i ended up adding a second 40Litre tank to give total volume of 90L, the motor ran hard with only 50L but with a Aeropro R500 LVLP it still worked for smaller jobs.
Future video idea: I'd like to see a video comparing all the different air caps for a given gun. For example, the GTI Pro Lite has the TE10, T110, TE20, HV25, HV30, etc. It's daunting for someone to have to pick just one (since they're over $150/pop), let alone a newb like me.
T110 1.3 my compressor is 29gl Harbor Freight. I can spray a Dodge Charger door perfectly .
Your work it superb!
Impressive lvlp thank you yo well explained
love these videos!
Great work 👏
Excellent vid. Appreciate it.
I love your videos. Keep it up.
Awsome painter mate 👌
Looks great
Top job brian 👏 👍
That blue color is off the chain :)
Great Video! Per the manufacturers website the Auralita 898-2 LVLP gun needs 9-11 CFM! most 30 gallon compressors don’t provide more than 5.3-6.2 CFM at 40PSI. And they don’t rate their compressors CFM Output at
30 PSI or less. Case in point I just purchased a DeWalt 30 gallon compressor it only rates its CFM at 90 PSI at 5.3 CFM. There’s 60 gallon is rated at over 11.2 CFM at 90 PSI. It weighs 208lbs and needs 240 volts 30 AMP Breaker. This means that you’ll have to either have a 240V circuit ran from your electrical panel or have the space available meaning an empty slot to install a new 30Amp breaker by a licensed electrician.
Apperciate the video! Finally finished bodywork and got a 33 gallon air compressor. I tried contacting Auarita through their website and told they only manufacture so contacting them to purchase didn't work. How did you buy the gun on your end?
You made me nervous after the first few coats of each looked like you were going down the road to ruin. I would rather paint a house. You did do a nice job and I would be happy with that job on my car too.
Another great video Brian you could spray a donkey and it would come out like a race horse thanks for the information and your time Brian
Thanks a ton for this.
Very very very nice job😎
Awesome video!
This is awesome
awesome. as always
Thanks for the Video! I have the setup you talked about (120v 30Gallon compressor) I am about to paint a truck And I was going to do single stage paint (I know clear is better but single is easier to touch up from my understanding). Would the Aurita LVLP be a good gun for that? Any reason I should run from single stage besides the usual Less happy with UV/Fade...
Awesome vid .. 🔥🔥🔥
Hi. Great video.
Do you use a shallow mask between the panels (like in the door jambs), so spray doesn't build on the inside surfaces?
Also, what do you think about the Dewalt DWMT70777 gun? Is it worth $100, or is it actually more similar in quality to the $17 Harbor Freight gun and you're basically paying for the Dewalt name?
Thanks.
Great video....
Great video Brian! Very informative all around. Where can a person shop for the Aurita 898-2?
That clear gun is amazing was that water base or solvent great job as always
Great one
Great vid. VIDEO IDEA---how to blend a not perfect paint match! A lot of DIY painters don't have access to your awesome paint system, if we purchase base coat and it's not perfect, how to blend it in. Thanks!
I secound the idea.... often the colour is off... some times we need to blend off colours
I would love to see a companion video relating to low CFM air sanders as well.
there is not one ....5 inch dewalt orbital sander electric and get some interface pads did a whole suburban with one
Paint Society my question is this how many liters of paint did you use in some of the repainting you do.
Great solution ! if you fancy a different color car but love your own car far too much to part with it ! - Just paint it the color of your choice !
Excellent
Saludos amigo brian 😀
I have iteco 3003. Paint well when done scooter. I put lot of orange peel. Love it. I wanted devilbliss but price I fell on my back. R15000. I'm not pro everyday. I think itelco was R2500ish. Budget small gun like R300. I bought one week ago.
Maybe you can demo the Shine 1 LVMP or the Gloss x1 LVMP next..I like paint savings on base coat.
I liked how you section the clear on the first coat , would have to give that a try
What kind of paint suit is that?
Excellent Job !! The question is, if you were using a 30-gallon air compressor on that specific job, might the results will be the same with an experienced painter like you or a different result with a beginner
Super video
Good job....
I currently have a devilbiss GTI and I try to spray base and clear with the same gun and its a pain trying to clean it out between coats. having a second gun would make my life so much easier, and you are right. My compressor is a 30 gallon and has trouble keeping up. I cant decide between the two in this video. any suggestion would be helpful! I have been running a corrosion shop in the military and have been spraying for 10+ years but am just recently getting into automotive with great results at my house, especially thanks to your videos!
I use one gun usually all the way through but it’s totally a preference.
Grab some disposable cups, only takes a small amount of thinners and a minute to clean the gun.
@@brendanw355 thats what i've been doing - i appreciate it
What color is that, phenomenal job , always love this tone of blue with a pearl look to it
you have been a huge help and my paining is getting much better! really liking this idea of lvlp gun bc i dont have a proper booth just spraying in my shop. why did you not used the lvlp for the clear also? can you?
Yes you can but I wanted to demo both guns.
Paintsociety love the work you doing for DYI have you seen the SPRAYIT SP-33000K LVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun Kit?
Eastwood LT100, Summitracing lvlp, Aeropro R500, and the sprayit 33000 are all the same guns.
That’s a siiiiiick job I swade
Great job very nice big fan from afghanistan
Hi Brian, thanks for your channel and all the tips etc. It has been awhile since I did any painting, and those projects were Musical drums. I am now ready to spray a guitar body with Nitrocellulose clear from Stewmac ( clear especially for instruments) I might have bought the Auarita LVLP you show here, but to spend $120+ for a gun I might only use a few times, is now economical enough for me. I did find another Auarita. The MP-102 LVMP. It comes with a 1.0. Can I find a 1.2 or 1.3 to use on my gun, or am I stuck with the 1.0 if it does not do a great job shooting this clear. Do other brand Mini Gun LVMP LVLP caps etc fit Auarita's? Or do I need to find a Brand specific supplier of additional options for this gun? Thanks
u have 2 wear sunglasses bro, color goes also to eyes when u paint, btw exccelent work!!!
I've been using the Eastwood Concours 2 for painting with a small compressor. It only needs about 5 CFM which most 30 gal compressors can handle. Quality has been really good but I'd really like to see what a professional like you thinks of it. Maybe contact Eastwood and have them send you a kit. It comes with a 1.3 and a 1.7 set up.
I’ll chat with them and see. Remind me if you don’t hear back in a few weeks
@@PaintSociety Will do, Brian! Thanks!
I’d love to see a review on this too. I love mine. Best paint jobs I’ve ever done.
