4:10 I am British and have lived in Melbourne for almost a year now. The climate in Victoria feels VERY familiar: it is cool in winter and warm in summer, but rarely too hot or too cold for anyone who grew up in western or central Europe. You also get a fair amount of rain and sunshine throughout the year, but we also get A LOT of wind. So yes, that part of Australia can feel like being in London, Rome or Berlin from time to time, but I can bet that I wouldn't last ten minutes in Darwin. The contrast across the nation really is crazy.
When you say "Sahara right next to it" that's very misleading. You forget how friggin huge the country really is. The distance from Melbourne to the center of Australia is about the distance from London to Belgrade, or Boston to Miami.

The map at 1:43 doesn’t take into account that most of the new high speed railways were converted from regular railways. Converting something is almost always easier than making it from scratch.
Most of these high speed railways in China are economically unviable.
It is easy for dictators to push through grand projects as they are not accountable to their citizens.

Heyy mate as an Aussie here I can confirm that weather map makes sense. The small area with climate like Finland is where our highest mountains are with average height 1,500-2,000m. Im not sure how much it rains in Finland and if it's evenly distributed but makes sense. Fun fact: For a huge country, Australia is very flat and only has a high point about half as high as say Mauna Kea, Hawaii which is over 100x smaller! Definitely come visit someday mate, the spiders are often pretty harmless unless provoked! 🕷

I do not know a lot of other Estonian youtubers and I think it would be really fun to learn more about the country's geography, history, culture or anything else in your style. I always really enjoy it when you talk about your country in these videos!

It's 100% true that Canberra (the tiny area on the aussie climate map) does get REALLY FUCKING COLD. Like, it's consistantly bellow 0 each morning in winter. Though, it's climate is highly variable. Once I went into a museum and it was 2º and sunny, when I came out, it was pouring and 29º

The eastern ghats of India (near the bay of Bengal) fit exactly perfectly with Australia as it literally split apart from Australia & into Asia. Stuff like this is fascinating and therefore I love maps

I’m from Spain (here at home we all have green eyes) and we live in the middle of the countryside, approximately where 5% of the world population chooses to live…
