I have watched this video like 20x I absolutely LOVE this buld with the XLR chassis. And 6mm ARC, This is my dream build. If you ever have to donate something for a tax write off....let me know =) Amazing build!! Good job
I’ve been waiting for someone to do a 6ARC bolt gun. I know this and the 224V are “AR” cartridges, but bolt gun performance isn’t a throwaway with these.
I know you did this video almost two years ago and probably won't see this comment, but thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the 1st video I have found featuring my favorite action the Zermatt Arms TL3. I absolutely love this action and my next build on this action will be a 6 ARC. I already have two 6.5 Creedmoors on this action. I build my one guns on this action. I use Proof Research Carbon Fiber barrels, MDT chassis systems and the TriggerTech trigger, which by the way, you didn't say which TriggerTech trigger you were using. Your video was a huge help and gives me some idea of what I may expect from my 6 ARC build. There a couple of things I need to remember. One, you are a professional shooter, which I am not. Two, my barrel will only be 22" and three, I am pretty sure my gun will be about two thirds the weight of yours. Again, a very sincere thank you for this video, especially considering you featured my favorite action is a huge help.
Tricked the hell outta me with that stock haha. I can't wait to try an XLR. It does look very well made. Outstanding video as always. Huge thanks Fellas🤙
I've been waiting for this video. That's a very nice setup. ARC is basically a SAMMI spec'd PPC +P and I welcome it. The 220 Russian case is tough to beat. I can't wait till I can get one and 1 of the CZ 22lr's too.
Awesome rig and awesome content as usual Brother!! Just got my wifeys ARC dies in yesterday evening before heading to work. I think she is going to love loading for and shooting hers once I complete her build. Hell I may even have to build myself another upper to switch between ARC and Grendel lol! Thanks for the review!!
Always said the 6.5 Grendel would be better suited for a 6mm bullet. I always got my best performance in the Grendel with a 85-100 grain bullet. Was able to hit 3000fps with h322. I’m gonna get a 6mm arc soon love the video.
@ Andrew Hull You will also see X-ring on Isyour6covered RUclips channel where a great bunch of guy’s talk about all things guns , scopes, and shooting. Join in discussions, these guys answer viewers questions.
Man that’s one very nice rifle . I love that Chassis. I think i might have to start saving for one . Just wait until you start reloading with fire formed brass , that sucker will be shooting clover leaf .3 inch or smaller groups. Great video X-ring 👍 . Great scope there Matt .
Thanks CSH! I am really digging this build with this cartridge. The good thing is, if I don’t like it, I have the bolt head to switch it straight over to a 6creedmoor or even a dasher if I choose.
very interested in the 6mm ARC but was holding off until it was out awhile to see how others like it. May have to look into it a bit more yet ! ? thank you X-Ring !
What is the advantage of the 6mm ARC over 6BR or 6 Dasher in a bolt gun? Concede no fire forming cases over Dasher, 6BR can be feed from a magazine these days. Is there a ballistic advantage over 6BR/Dasher?
Cartridge feed reliability should also be a major consideration. Some of these new cartridges need more field time before I drop several grand on a new build.
I couldn't sit on the balls of my feet like that when I was 14. Nothing has changed in that respect in the following 40 years. I would have been forced to do what Rick did.
Great vid that's probably going to cost me some money as many of your vids do lol. Every one of the 3 groups had a dead on bullseye. Really good stuff.
Hey guys I'm going to be starting my own RUclips video. It will be about nothing and everything. Funny about life is that the Night Force are way too expensive for me, but a just recently purchased a $35,000 plane which in my mind was cheap.
What would you consider to be a safe distance to extend the ARCA rail beyond the end of the rail? I have an LSS chassis that is about 6.75” at the fore end and need to use the Area 419 10’” rail to allow room for my Gamechanger bag between the bipod and the mag.
SInce there are really no brass available for the 6 ARC I convert either Starline or Lapua 6.5 grendel 7.62x39 or 220 Russian to 6ARC. DO you feel that a large rifle primer is better that a SRP or a SRP is better for 1000 yards plus? or maybe magnum primers?
Enjoy your videos X-Ring. Off topic question about your Send-It level you mentioned way back on 3/22/18. Is it a cool gadget with blinky lights or does it have an advantage over other levels?
I guess I am a bit confused; 2840fps? I am getting average of 2835fps from my 6X45 rifles from a 20" barrel, (2-AR actions, 2 Bolt actions). .25" -.50" MOA Where is the advantage of the ARC over the 6X45? A whole rifle vs. a Barrel change, to gain 5fps? Smaller brass, smaller action, more common accessories in ar15 size. Brass made from .223 /.556. The ARC appears to be a Answer without a question.
Is that the 4-16x42 ATACR on the 6 ARC? I’m thinking about putting one on an 18in .308, how does it compare to something with the typical 50 or 56mm objectives?
Great videos. I am looking at buying a Uintah 6mm ARC upper. I do my own reloading and I like shooting out past 1000 yards (not competition). The Uintah barrel comes standard at 22". Would you want a 22" or maybe a 24" barrel?
Hey Gorilla, We have been playing around with different barrel lengths and chose the 26" as a great setup. We also messed around with the 24" length with a suppressor and had really good results with those as well.
Community question: I have a 10.5 SBR chambered in 300 blk. I'm looking to get my first scope ever(I've only owned and used red dot/edtech w/magnifier). I have an opportunity to get a Vortex Diamondback tactical 6-24 FFP. Is that a good choice? My puny brain is telling me that's too much magnification for the caliber but I'd really appreciate the advice of someone with some knowledge and experience in regards to scopes. Any and all comments, suggestions, etc will be greatly appreciated.
Good question and thanks for commenting. That is a lot of scope for that setup. However, if you can get it at a good price is it something worth keeping around for another build.
My question is what twist barrel are you using for the 6 ARC? Any number of videos in AR platforms using 7.5 and 7.7 twist barrels have exhibited either vertical stringing or double grouping (3 and 2 groups) shooting 108gr ELD factory loads.
X-RING It’s hard for me to know just what the issue(s) might be with the gas guns. Ordinarily I suspect fire control systems when there is vertical in a bolt gun. The 6 ARC is close enough to the 6 PPC, although at a much lower pressure node, that I am wondering why it doesn’t do better. I know people who have successfully competed with 6 PPC gas guns (at appropriate pressure levels) in NMC competition. Thanks for the reply and videos!
Was just wondering if anyone happens to know how far the 6 arc drops at 400 yards? I'm considering the 20 inch and the 24 inch barrel... Leaning towards the 20"
Beautiful rifle!! I just saw a show on shooting USA about the 6mm arc. I was really intrigued. Can't wait to see you stretch her legs and tag steel way down range.
The 6 ARC is nothing more than a 6 PPC with one more grain of case capacity. OH! and the shoulder angle has been changed from the 6 PPC's 30 to a 40 degree.

I knew this was all fake when you said you found an accurate CFE223 load That is one sweet ass rig. Still treating you well? Still running the same load?
Hey Manitou, The best powders so far for 6arc have indeed been CFE223 or LeverEvolution. I am having a gasser built now with a custom cut chamber from Eagle Eye. Will report on that one soon. BTW, when I shot with Kenny at the Burris Optics Challenge he was shooting a 6arc bolt gun as well. It is definitely a solid performer.
@@XRING Good stuff I have 16lbs of cfe223 that I can't find a use for, outside of ball fodder, in any of my ARs... yet.... Sounds like as good an excuse as any to start a 6arc build. A 6ARC in a bolt gun? It's really meant for a gas gun. If you're running a 6ARC in a bolt gun, might as well run a 6BR. Very similar but the 6BR is extremely proven. I know this is just to see what a 6ARC could do in a bolt gun.
The 6 ARC didn’t even move with the recoil. I’m liking what I’ve seen so far. THANKS!
I'm thinking that's because the rifle weights 20 pounds.
Recoil is not much more than a 223 bolt gun with a 75gr bullet. My savage 110 is weighing in at 13 lbs with little movement
That is a great big bunch of awesome rifles Mr. Ring
