    The only band ever

Also the main scream vocalist is a fire fighter in Toronto - so there’s that

My fave hardcore song on this album -- I'm so glad it was recommended and you reacted to it. Alexis has 3 vocalists: George Pettit, Dallas, and Wade MacNeil. So for this song, George is performing the screaming vocals, and Dallas and Wade are singing/harmonizing; of course, Dallas' voice stands out because it's so distinct. Dallas does sing lead on a couple of mellower songs on this album, and George also sings harmonies.

Hey Ken take a look at the music video for Alexisonfire- familiar drugs to get a better sense of the vocal dynamics in the band. There are three singers of various styles. Dallas as you know has the silky smooth vocals, George Pettit has the very pronounced vocal fry and Wade MacNeil falls somewhere in between. They have created a uniquely awesome sound that uses all their voices.
So happy that you took a look at these guys and hope you dive deeper into their music.
Also really enjoy your channel and love that you react to so many different genres of music and find positives for each, really great stuff keep it up.

You have to watch their Live at Strombo session, particularly Happiness by the Killowatt! They usually play it live as a set closer and it's one of their best but has to be live!

Haven't heard this one. Of all the hundreds of beautiful and powerful songs that Dallas Green has recorded both with AOF and solo, it kills me that this is the one that got through. If you're so kind to give him another shot, a live recording will sell you on his voice and make you a fan for life, I think. Personally 'Silver And Gold' recorded for Guitar Center's youtube channel has always been a favourite.
He also has a project with Pink called You + Me, and a live recording in Santa Monica that is highly recommended. No Ordinary Love, Open Door, Love Gone Wrong. Pink proves to be a killer singer here, and a real sweetheart, as well. It's a beautiful little show.
His recent live cover of Alice In Chain's 'Rain When I Die' is also absolutely stunning, and might bring in some additional viewers for you, from that band's fans for.
Kicking myself for not commenting on your last Dallas Green video though. You've heard some very lacklustre songs here, from the greatest talent Canada has produced since Neil Young. Dallas is as strong a songwriter as he is a singer. His first three solo albums are all beautiful.

This is a great song. If you want a true idea of what this band is, you should know that there are three vocalists. Dallas Green does the clean vocals (though he does scream occasionally) Wade McNeil has a gritty voice that fits nicely in the middle of the two extremes and George Pettit does the screaming. If you really want to hear what this band was all about and how Dallas Green got his start I would recommend the song .44 Caliber Love Letter. Great reaction as always!

No Transitory is the song that got me interested in Dallas Green. I remember seeing him perform it with this group and wishing he had a solo album. A few weeks later Save Your Scissors came out and my love of him solidified

Most underrated band of all time. Fight me.
P.s. Dallas is not the screamer - that’s George. This band has 2 lead vocalists which causes confusion.

If you liked this, I think its time you went down the Alexisonfire Rabbit Hole - You could of course listen to " This could be anywhere in the world " To hear what Dallas was like before City and Colour but I also Suggest you review " Sweet Dreams of Otherness " to see how much Dallas brings to the band and his influence on how songs flow from playing in his band City and Colour throughout the years.
    Happy Listening!

If he does go down that road, then I would definitely also recommend World Stops Turning. My fav song and one of the best Dallas songs in his Alexisonfire career IMO.

Worth noting that the screaming is done by George, not Dallas :) Great video

Alexis On Fire - it has a better ring to it that way, although I made the same mistake way back when.
There are two singers here, with Dallas obviously providing the clean vocals. Their first song and video Pulmonary Archery was great.

Has Ken found Tommy Johansson's (Sabaton's guitarist) channel yet? He's a great vocalist in his own right!
I've been skimming the back vids but haven't seen any yet.

    1. It is 2 vocalists: George Pettit does the unclean vocals.
    2. Their name is pron. Alexis on fire
    3. It cannot be understated how important this group was for the heavy scene in Canada, and Australia and the UK as well.
    4. Do The Northern next

I'm still amazed how good George's voice still sounds after so many years of performing, unlike a lot of contemporaries who have messed their cords up badly. George's screaming sounds great live still.

Man there are so many better songs from this band to react to. You should check out their song Sans Soleil from this same album, I think you’d really like that one, Ken, especially if you’re a fan of Dallas Green.
