What do we think about this new dungeon? I updated the title.. let's get unhinged edit: it seems Xivu isn't in control of the lucent hive at all? Look I try my best to break down what is being said, but even I'm getting lost in the story so let me go off of what people were saying here. "Xivu definitely isn't responsible for what happened in this dungeon, in the final lore entry, it makes it clear that she leaves Oryx, maybe she tried and failed to bring him back with necromancy, but she definitely isn't in control of the Lucent, she's at war with them. Just because Savathûn isn't alive, doesn't mean she didn't give the order to do this before she died, they were just waiting for Titan to return." what do you think? Honestly best dungeon we've had for a while. Decent challenge, good looking armour Its the one thing i've seen since witch queen release thats given me some hope that destiny 2 can improve, and still has the same magic i first felt back when i started in forsaken
I honestly dont think Xivu Arath had anything to do with the Lucsent Hive attempting to resurrect Oryx. She clearly wants to follow Oyrx's dreak of the Final Shape, and is obsessed with him. Oryx hated the light and necromancy, so i doubt shed approve of a plan using both to bring him back.
She wouldn't, the lucent brood are likely attempting to do so themselves. Xivu only came to titan to mourn, as the final audio log indicates. The wraithborne seem to just be there as a form of honour guard. Savathûn gained the knowledge of hive necromancy way back in season of Arrivals. Considering the Arcology is Oryx's final resting place, it explains why Savathûn set up so much of her brood there. She probably had the plan to bring him back with necromancy and/or via a ghost before becoming risen herself. The part where Xivu likely recites something Savathûn said to enact the invasion of the canal homeworld; I believe this is Xivu calling her sister wrong because we, and more imprlortantly Rasputin, didn't take the bait of participating in her ritual of war. In this we drove her back a step, as she puts it. But she's taken solace in that the Witness was able to connect the Veil with the Traveller and begin enacting the Final Shape. The feeling both sisters are likely experiencing is regret brought on by nostalgia, regret that they can no longer share peaceful & loving time spent with their siblings. The closest they were able to get to that since becoming the hive was killing, and killing for, one another. It's rather tragic really.
Probably but there is one of the calcified memories that suggest her considering the “heresy” of light and necromancy to raise Oryx so let’s not completely discount it as a possibility.
@@jetwayjesus the lore collectible make it seem like she deeply loved her brother, to an unhealthy obsession (by human standards). Not only that, but Oryx wouldnt remember anything if he was rezzed as a guardian.

15:37 "praxis" means test a theory in practice, by doing it or applying it. So what Xivu is saying (as far as I understand) is she's going to test her own ideology and power of the Sword Logic and Darkness by the Worms, against Savathun's "heretical" usage of the Light
@@heroicxidiot I did and it only came up with fallen boss, hence why I put it in the video, maybe one small detail slip isn't the biggest deal in a 30+ min video with a ton of moving parts
The interesting part of the audio logs is in my opinion that we see Sivu kinda struggling you know, when she talked to us she were always this confident God and now we hear her struggling because of the death from oryx.
Work persona and well family persona I mean technically back then her species were more people like with feelings and emotions not a 100% geared toward death. Lore wise they are happy to die in a way because technically your killing weakness and they don’t like weakness. But that doesn’t mean lay down and die
I think Xivu is perhaps afraid that a being that would usually get annihilated by the hive took her brother down. We have to remember Crota slew thousands of guardians and gave them their final deaths. So for us to just come along out of nowhere, kill Crota and then Oryx must've been a huge woah moment for her.
I LOVE the atmosphere and aesthetic and even the mechanics, literally the only issue is how tanky the bosses are, even then its really only the final boss (and her stupid moth attack and constant teleportation)
I had no issue with having difficult bosses with a lot of health, and these bosses didn't have much health if you used meta dps loadouts, like I was able to 3 phase both bosses with an lfg team.
I think when she says she had a blade to our throat and we slipped passed her was Season of the Seraph, where she could have used the Warmind system to empower herself and attack The Traveler, but then Rasputin killed himself and destroyed the Warmind and thus thwarted her plans.
I had never done a day 1 of anything but my friends and I got through it very easily, though we did get disconnected. We only wiped one time total. I loved this dungeon.
My day dungeon took 4 hours. We would accidentally progress the mechanics but not realize how we did it (slow learners) Second run, after watching a couple videos and we did it in 2hrs, but spent time going after the collectibles on the way through. Pretty sure we could do it in a little over an hour now we understand more about how to set up the DPS phases
20:38 Here she’s referring to the final mission in Sereph. The boss of that mission was a Wizard champion of Xivu Arath’s brood named Scourge of Earth. Hive only name champions Scourge of [] when they believe that Hive will be the one to drive a species to extinction. However as we all know, We were successful in stopping the Warsats.
Xivu had nothing to do with trying to resurrect Oryx. The fact that after the boss fight we get an audio log that says she's not visiting his grave again I think Imaru was behind all this. Plus Savathun has resurrected all of Oryx's allies so it would make sense she's trying to assemble a light court for him to come back to
"Praxis" is putting a theoretical concept into practice (often used today in the context of ethics to mean practicing what you preach). Remember that Bungie loves using wordplay when naming their characters - Praksis, the Technocrat, was the one tasked with putting theories of Darkness and Stasis into practice as tangible technology. Xivu Arath is not referring to Eramis's lieutenant Praksis, but to _praxis,_ the concept he was named after.

20:50 I can't be sure, but I think she's refering to how we managed to prevent her summoning during the Season of the Seraph. Remember how acts of war are used to summon her and during the season of the Sreraph we stopped ourselves from using the power of the Warmind to fight our enemies which would have summoned her and her armies from the Ascendant Plane.
Imagine how pissed Oryx would have been if he learn that he was resurrected by necromancy(which he banished his own son Nokris for practicing) and the Light(the very thing that killed him and his son Crota)
But then again he will not have his memories back so maybe the hive ghost is gonna tell him to follow savathun's path to fight the witness, imagine oryx vs the witness
I would say that Xivu arath likely doesn’t didn’t have anything to do with oryx’s attempted resurrection. The current commander of the lucent hive is savathun’s ghost immaru who likely commanded the hive to attempt to resurrect oryx. Xivu actively condemns her sister’s use of the light and is still allied with the witness. The calcified the fragments probably have her because she has frequently visited this place to mourn oryx.

8:12 It's actually quite interesting to hear that Xivu seems legitimately angry with us for not "Taking" Oryx's place on the throne after killing him. It's an interesting speculation if Xivu would of followed us if we had taken up that power for ourselves.
The second to last log is likely based around Season of The Seraph where Xivu should have won. Either, we used the Warsats against her, tithing to her for her to invade Earth, or they used the Warsats against the Traveler, likely destroying it and still invading Earth. Rasputin’s Sacrifice was the only possible way to beat Xivu without Tithing to her enough for her to open the portal
That intro was an absolute masterpice Evan. You just proved that the community is the very heart of Destiny (and not the eververse as Bungie thinks). You got talent bro
Second to last audio log, Xivu had us cornered during season of seraph, either way whether we used the warmind or Eramis did she won, so we destroyed the warmind “slipped past her guard” and now the witness has entered the traveler, the final shape coming closer.
Normally love these full scope videos, but half way through I was trying not to turn red. Yes I’m a super big hive lore-obsessed d1 veteran. Hearing speculation that the Witness’ (current) primary disciple had light forces, when Savathun had expressed (albeit in obscurity) hints at her plans to resurrect her brother before she even became a lightbearer, plans that Immaru woud know and could fulfill, cut right into my soul. And praxis is an actual word, more or less meaning to apply philosophical theory to real practice.

Me and my friends did this at about 4AM, and we were so tired at the end that we forgot to kill the ghost. It doesnt reswpawn the boss at full HP, but at around 1/4th
We became allies with the Fallen in the House of Light, allies with the Cabal with the Empress Caital. No Vex can be befriended. The only way we could ally with the Hive would be with Savathun, but her Ghost would have to change from Immaru to Fynch.
there is actually a vex hydra hiding out in the neomuna cloudark from the rest of the vex. I think that was the whole point of the winterbite exotic mission
I'm unconvinced that there's no possibility of allying with some Vex. There's some lore that suggests there's factionalism within them, where Praedyth sees the mossy Vex in the Vault of Glass fighting with others, and notes that the other Vex seem scared of the Vault Vex.
I don’t think xivu is responsible for the lucent hives actions in this dungeon, she talks about how we do her work for her by fighting savathun and her forces, besides. Resurrecting oryx would be against oryx’s and xivus ideologies of the sword logic. I just think the lucent hive was trying to recruit oryx with the absence of savathun
xivu arath did not use the luscent hive here she specifically hates the light calling her sister a traitor multiple times. in season of the risen she makes her hive kill and torcher hive guardians. i dont know how you can mistake that when the story is right in front of you.
What would be fun to see is Xivu Arath realizing that her sibligns had been tricked all this time. And that in reality, their true enemy had been the Witness. Savathun once said that though it's hard to believe, everything they all did was for the sake of their family. If we look at it in a Hive's POV. Oryx's death and Savathun's betrayal are like proofs that the "sword logic" they follow might not be absolute. Xivu Arath is the one who would be the most affected by these revelations. Iirc, in the book of sorrows, it was her that tried to convince her sisters to turn back after the Leviathan warned them, showing that she truly does value her sisters. We thought she hated Savathun because Savathun betrayed the 'darkness', but now it's clear that Xivu Arath was angry at Savathun because to her, it was like Savathun tainted the existence of their dead brother. But, if she were to learn the whole truth, including the Witness's lies, she might still not work with us, but I can see her going on a rampage to reach the Witness; and prove herself as the mightiest warrior in her own way.
Savathun already knew before if you read the book of sorrow logs she had the most suspicions and it’s quite obvious she knew first for she was the most cunning at the time
Titan is a moon of Saturn. The Dreadnaught is in Saturns ring. If Oryx was launched into space from the dreadnaught, its likely his body would be pulled into the gravitational field of a nearby planetary body, i.e. titan, since its a moon orbiting saturn
I like it. It is one of my favorite dungeons, but the health on the last boss is insane, soloing it takes a long time with the bulk of it being on that final encounter because of the boss' health
If you wanna talk about World building we were literally in space and not on complained about that but when you add slow physics to a dungeon that's farmable and it last at least 10 minutes that can get very annoying and feels bad.
Also after the boss fight I went back to all the mini boss rooms to explore a little and in the acolyte room at the top of the arena there was one of the circle and symbols you have to line up during the boss fight just sitting there so I lined it up it disappeared but I wasn’t able to find anything else before I was kicked out of the dungeon
In the final fight, my Fireteam didn’t realize we could get all 3 Hive Runes to pop up one at the same time. We thought we had to get one up, kill the Lucent Hive and come back before we could get the next one. So basically we made the whole encounter last 3 times longer than it needed to. We also didn’t realize that all three rune locations had the anti-shield buff pool, and just stayed in the one where we started damage phase, and would get melted by boss and bare do any damage. Second run through with that knowledge and the it was way easier. Still don’t like the immunity shields, but now we have the tactics down better could probably 2-3 phase Knight Boss, and 3-4 Phase the Wizard Boss.
Fun fact, when you forget to kill the ghost at the end of the encounter, the bosses don’t come back with full health but with the health that you started the dps phase with. I … sadly found out on my first final encounter kill with my team and we had to redo the final round 😂
That and the CONSTANT blasting of arc damage. I'm running double arc resist mods and 90 Resil on my titan and I still get shredded within a second if she starts focusing me down.
18:57 On my run, it was only me and a random on this boss and honestly, Condicional Finality was doing a better job then Acrius on both DPS and ammo availability.
Here after the final shape release: watching this makes so much more sense now after all the seasons we learned xivu was banished to her ascendent plane and bungie confirmed we are returning to the dreadnaught in episode 3. The Taken Queen may rise yet!
Clan mate said he was going to finish the ghost, didn't finish the ghost, lol. So, if you don't finish the ghost he comes back with about ~5-7% health, but for us he was soft locked, we couldn't redo the mechanic and lower his shield again, so we used the Witherhoard cheese to finish him off.

@@lauzybro3660 but hes sleepy and waking him would be rude
I'm unconvinced that there's no possibility of allying with some Vex. There's some lore that suggests there's factionalism within them, where Praedyth sees the mossy Vex in the Vault of Glass fighting with others, and notes that the other Vex seem scared of the Vault Vex.
22:33 Alright that little Wii clip of oryx getting thrown into bowling pins sent me to the fuckin sky lol
It happened to us on the final boss. Nobody got to the ghost in time, he came back with just a small amount of health easily to 1 phase.
“I know you’re here, Oryx, you big fucking nerd. Where’s my goddamn money?”
Gives me "where's the money Lebowski" vibes
Can I just say, the VA for Xivu Arath did such a great job
20:49 she’s probably referring to the end of season of the Seraph. When we evaded her trap to cause a full invasion by using the warsat network
Absolutely nice work with the Bioshock reference, gotta love it!
Btw evan,
the spot for the chest can be accessed from the outside when you jump down so you can enter the giant bubble dome.
I like the style of this video. The explanation and lore in the same video. Excellent job
18:06 his name is Hector, anyone who says otherwise is kicked from my fireteam
That Bioshock bit was so funny. Well done!
For someone that couldn't pay for the dungeon yet having this video is a blessing
Lore wise I think she's referring to the witness going for the traveller (the heart)
Did anybody think this mission was similar to the opening of 343 guilty spark from halo 1?
Praxis means to put into action one’s beliefs.
when the dungeon has better lore, mechanics, art direction, and difficulty than the DLC raid
🤣
But I still liked root of nightmares was a nice more relaxing raid.
Also congrats on 330k you’re the man Evan 🎉❤
I praise you for the rapture reference. I shed a damn tear
the most exotic ad drop ever , loved it
xivu arath did not use the luscent hive here she specifically hates the light calling her sister a traitor multiple times. in season of the risen she makes her hive kill and torcher hive guardians. i dont know how you can mistake that when the story is right in front of you.
Dude…Kimberly’s voice acting is EXACTLY how I’ve imagined Xivu would sound like! She is amazing😅
Just did this dungeon and I can say it is the hardest endgame activity I’ve done
My team did it in just under 3 hours. Mechanics we got down pretty quickly with each encounter but man were those bosses were chunky.
@@ehoffart529 we did it in 2-3 (wasn’t counting) and the final boss had 6 damage phases
Savathun already knew before if you read the book of sorrow logs she had the most suspicions and it’s quite obvious she knew first for she was the most cunning at the time
Ticuu's hipfire pops the moths so easily. It's my go to for that encounter.
As someone who didn’t finish Ecthar’s ghost on the first run, he only spawns back in with around and 8th of his health remaining or smt like that.
my very first blind run took 4 and a half hours, but it was the most fun i think ive had with a dungeon in a while
also tf did oryx end up on titan
Lmao 4 hours how
Titan is a moon of Saturn. The Dreadnaught is in Saturns ring. If Oryx was launched into space from the dreadnaught, its likely his body would be pulled into the gravitational field of a nearby planetary body, i.e. titan, since its a moon orbiting saturn
@@nulsis-9 big boy “fell” from the dreadnaught when we blasted the goofy outta his taken ass
@@nulsis-9 amd titan is a moon of Saturn where the dreadnaught was orbiting around
Very first time doing a day one dungeon, easily my favorite dungeon and its so much fun
I like it. It is one of my favorite dungeons, but the health on the last boss is insane, soloing it takes a long time with the bulk of it being on that final encounter because of the boss' health
As someone who fears deep water... Im screwed.
you should play subnautica
you totally wont piss your pants 11 times within 3hrs of the game
People criticize the underwater as "slow walking," but imo it lends to the world building experience. I personally loved it.
If you wanna talk about World building we were literally in space and not on complained about that but when you add slow physics to a dungeon that's farmable and it last at least 10 minutes that can get very annoying and feels bad.
@@SirGuruu don’t farm the whole dungeon Tf? You farm one encounter buddy that’s how this goes. Don’t have to do the running part everytime.
@@SirGuruu yea… it really only works the first time. Doing it every single run wears thin quick
Exactly
For the first boss I highly recommend heir apparent. It does some solid dps especially if you don't have the nut cannon.
This game has been my home for 10 years 🥲
I appreciate the reference to bioshock at the beginning, bioshock definitely doesn’t get the love it deserves!
That's for the memory fragment
Banger dungeon. Going for the master then the solo
never clicked so fast mr evanf. This dungeon was amazing, thanks for the quick upload.
The Best "Under The Sea" Experience Ever
Destiny has been my home for 10 years I love this game so much
Can confirm , boss comes back with about 1/10th to 1/12th of his health bar , and we were laughing our heads off when it happened
this game has been my home for 9 years
Your a great writter , your videos are truly some of the best keep up the good work
Fun fact, when you forget to kill the ghost at the end of the encounter, the bosses don’t come back with full health but with the health that you started the dps phase with. I … sadly found out on my first final encounter kill with my team and we had to redo the final round 😂
The moth attack on the final boss is literally the only gripe I have with the dungeon
nearly the entire final encounter is the only problem i have with this dungeon
That and the CONSTANT blasting of arc damage. I'm running double arc resist mods and 90 Resil on my titan and I still get shredded within a second if she starts focusing me down.
Love the bioshock reference at the beginning
The failed wellskate 20:35 hits too close to home
18:57 On my run, it was only me and a random on this boss and honestly, Condicional Finality was doing a better job then Acrius on both DPS and ammo availability.
Ofc you couldn't help but make a BioShock reference, but it was spot on so very nice.
Had so much fun with this dungeon, managed to barely beat Datto to finishing it first time too XD
So, if you don't finish the ghost he comes back with about ~5-7% health, but for us he was soft locked, we couldn't redo the mechanic and lower his shield again, so we used the Witherhoard cheese to finish him off.
easy to figure out, challenging bosses. great dungeon! and excelent content!
Maybe it's just me, but xivu seems a bit more, uh, unhinged than her siblings
Everything is top notch in this dungeon including the length.
I'm a little late but I love that Bioshock "intro" at the beginning😂
Evan starting off with both a Bioshock and Spongebob reference.
We're off to a great start.
Imagine being so badass that taking the throne of the taken king is considered small peanuts
Can’t wait to finally play this on a 4K telly!
