I remember finishing this raid with my uncle, reliving the gameplay through this video makes me hear his voice and the joy we had the first time we killed that king, we used to make theories about future content and about the darkness but sadly he passed away this year, the last raid we did was The Leviathan. Now that the darkness is coming it's sad how he could never see or get to beat their ass. I still play destiny 2 sometimes, dedicating every game I play to him. Rest in Peace Tito Chard love you and we miss you.
Ikr but I’ve not felt the same feeling with destiny 2 raids there just too easy for you when your on par with the level whilst in destiny 1 it was challenging whether or not you were higher than the light level or on par with it, it was always a little if a challenge
When I first bought my ps3, the guy at the store I bought it from said to me word for word “bro, if you’re gona buy a ps3, buy it with destiny, trust me on this” at the time, taken king had just came out. I just wanted a ps3 to play cod and just wanted the guy to stop pressuring me into getting a game I didn’t want to, so I done what he said. Most fun I have ever had playing. To this day, I still remember that guy.
Oh man where did time go, I still vividly remember hopping on to this raid, meeting oryx for the first time then beating him for the first was definitely one of the most satisfying feeling I've ever felt in a video game. Good ol destiny days
Kings Fall was my favorite D1 raid because my hero moment was being a sherpa to 5 blueberries every week and taking 6 hours to do the raid but dammit I got them through it.
Agreed. Within 2 weeks of the original kings fall coming out I would run it 6-8 times a week with various squads, mostly new. It was always challenging and fun, especially every time it got a buff/challenge that made it harder to run. To this day it’s still my favorite raid, and damn do I miss it

Congrats man! Very similar story for me, but now I’m married and have a 9 month old daughter. This morning my wife and I found out we’re pregnant again. Life’s crazy!
I remember playing this raid when I was 12 years old, the final encounter was the hardest and coolest thing I ever took part in in all of destiny, me and my first fireteam members, I still remember their names too, did this raid day one in like 12 hours. I still hold it in first place as my fondest memory from destiny as a franchise
King’s Fall was my favorite because of the fact that oryx was too powerful to be simply shot in the face. In fact, the only way to damage him was to complete a ritual and then use that to damage him. He is an actual GOD, so yeah, guns wouldn’t work

The team i was with actually made it to golgoroth before their team by almost 15mibs but we couldnt figure him out so we had to wait for them to reach golgoroth and figure it out so we could do it as well. It took us quite a while after that which is why we were only top 30 but man this was such nostalgia seeing these clips that i was watching live while playing trying to compete for worlds first.
I came to Destiny in Destiny 2 and eventually went back to D1 and got all characters to 400 and ran all the raids. The end of King's Fall when Oryx revealed himself made King's Fall the most impressive raid in my eyes and definitely one of the best!
During D1, I only ever had a 4 man team. We finally did it after months of trying to strategies with 4 players and that feeling of sending Oryx into the abyss was unmatched 💯
I just stumbled upon this video and this brings me back to the glory days of destiny, some of my all time best moments i had on the xbox one, I miss those days
Kings fall took my team a month to get high level enough for a full clear. We loved it! Took absolute the most out of us but made us so much better. After that, we raided every week on reset day ☺️☺️ ah sweet days
I love your videos man. I fell out of playing destiny but I have so much history and love for destiny 1 and the first year of destiny 2. Watching these takes me all the way back so thank you for the content!

Bro this was everything. will always be my favorite dlcs the new subclasses the story the urgency and the intro of swords. I remember doing kings fall with my raid group on release
I can't believe vog, crota and kings fall were all in one year, but I've been back playing destiny since season of opulence and it's been almost two years and haven't felt this much content fun that was in half that time.
When this raid came out I was so into playing the game I quit the shitty job I had at the time to grind ended up being Nineveh 7 I’m the world for highest light before the raid came out just behind giggle monster then when hard mode came out I deleted two characters a day and leveled them just to get more raid drops I believe this was an average of 20 hours a day I was dedicated
Vault of Glass: the first and OG raid. Crota's End: a raid that was hard when it first came out, now it's a laughing stock. King's Fall: You want pain? An unforgettable experience? Want to topple a King? Kill a god Wrath of the Machine: You wish to become *[PERFECTED]* do you not.
This dlc made me love destiny, and just gaming in general, in a much deeper way. I was very proud how much time i put into destiny during this dlc and how on top of every secret and every exotic quest. I was very lucky to be a part of the top 30 to finish kings fall and i was so drawn into this raid and i have no idea how many times i ran it back. Just that i played it every week on each character and kept running it back throught the week, helping random lfg groups just so i could keep playing it. Touch of malice, spindle, the exotic swords, court, the two strikes, the dreadnought itself...just all of what destiny is meant to be. We need this back in destiny and we need exotic quests like touch and a story that has the main enemy become the end raid boss rather than just a weak strike to just kill them after an amount of damage with not all that complicated mechanics.
My best video gaming memory of all time is playing the campaign at midnight with a fireteam of guys I was playing magic with. We did two fireteams the whole time through the campaign, and then did the raid that Saturday. Really glad Crossplay is a thing and I've started being able to play destiny 2 with some of them
I still feel they had tips from someone at Bungie prior to the raid. I remember many saying the same thing back in the day. The publicity this raid’s world’s first got was mainly due to who completed it, the most popular Destiny content creator at the time.
Bungie: Okay so we’re supposed to have Destiny 2 next year so this last raid has to be fantastic. ‘Kings Fall’ we’ll call it. One encounter, four bosses. It’ll be great. Kings Fall: *Is fantastic* Bungie: That’s great, now we have a great capstone for Destiny 1. Destiny 2: *Is delayed* Bungie: Well shit, how in the hell do we top that? Wrath of the Machine: ~What’s that coming over the hill~ Serious note though, Wrath of the Machine is to date my favourite Destiny raid and I cannot wait until it comes into Destiny 2 through the DCV so that I can share that experience with my friend who only got into Destiny with Forsaken.
you can always just take a break from D2 and have them play D1 with you. If they like D2 then there's no doubt they'll love D1, just gotta someone's gotta fork up about $60 fir the entire D1 experience, really wish they would either make D1 free to play, or at least cut down the price to maybe $10. Bungie owns the rights, they can do that. Or they at least SHOULD own all the rights for the Destiny franchise THEY created. one thing I will hate about the vaulting and removal of content from D2 when Beyond Light drops, is that story-wise it won't be new player friendly, as if they play through D1, you're missing 3 campaigns of story that lead INTO the present day events of D2. D1 and D2 work amazingly well when you play straight through them both with one character each and see the whole picture.
My first raid, and my favorite ever raid. Oryx and The Taken King expansion as a whole is what got me into this game. I’ll never regret my time spent back then or the time I spend now on destiny. It’s saved my mental health
I remember watching every minute of Goth’s streams leading up to the raid and his pain with never getting a a 290+ ghost shell to drop for him. Just some context on why he was estatic to get the raid shell
Wrath of the Machine is still my favorite raid but Kings Fall is definitely the raid that changed the way we see them. The difficulty and scale of it was absolutely insane at the time and cannot be understated
I didn't start raiding until about a month before house of wolves. Vog was rough as far as finding groups to let me in so I got most of my experience from crota. But KF was the first raid I was there for on day 1. The first raid where I wasn't the only one who didn't know what to do, and the first raid I ran more than 3 times a week to master it. I'm not saying its the best raid, but the memories I have from it make it my favorite D1 raid. Thanks for this vid.
Haven't watched the video yet, but I just wanted to share my own experience with this raid. This was the first Raid I ever did in Destiny. I'm a social phobe with Asperger's, so it's hard for me to reach out to people, especially people I don't know. But when I learned about the Touch of Malice, and how fun it was, I knew I had to have it! It took me a few weeks, but I finally worked up the courage to go to DestinyLFG and look for Raid groups. It took a few tries, but I finally found a Raid group that was willing to teach me how the Raid works. Even befriended one of them. This was a big accomplishment for me, and I was rewarded with a fun weapon, and an appreciation for the Destiny Raids. It may not seem like much those reading this, but this will always be a moment I remember, and a reminder for why I love Destiny. I sincerely hope they bring back the Touch of Malice in The Witch Queen DLC. What better weapon to bring down Savathûn than a weapon powered by the heart of her own brother?
This video was the hardest one I have ever made, thank you for the support and I will look to make the next one even better, thank you so much and come by a stream soon :)

It took us quite a while after that which is why we were only top 30 but man this was such nostalgia seeing these clips that i was watching live while playing trying to compete for worlds first.
The “fun” walls was the absolute best part of this video change my mind!??!
I have been BINGING your videos the last few days and I LOVE these. So well done, man. Trip down memory lane.
Thanks for uploading today am really sick so this will be great to help me pass time❤️
hope you get better man
Iversev same
Hey bro, i hope you get better 👌
hope you get better my dude
Fabian Vazquez thanks man❤️
I came to Destiny in Destiny 2 and eventually went back to D1 and got all characters to 400 and ran all the raids. The end of King's Fall when Oryx revealed himself made King's Fall the most impressive raid in my eyes and definitely one of the best!
If Byf is Lore Daddy then you're the Historian of Destiny. Great job once again :D
I was in of one of the first 20 clans to beat Kings Fall, I loved this raid so much. Great Video
This couldn’t have been more perfect timing since I’ve got a long road trip ahead. Thanks Evan!
During D1, I only ever had a 4 man team. We finally did it after months of trying to strategies with 4 players and that feeling of sending Oryx into the abyss was unmatched 💯
I remember Broman being convinced that Adepts were the key to the entire raid mechanics. 😂
Me: Kings fall was the best raid and deserves no criticism
Also me: ok fair enough..
I just did this raid yesterday lol, never gets old.
I still do it every week. I love it
I absolutely loved this raid and the music. Golgoroth is still my all time favorite destiny boss
Your channel makes me sad because I remember when I actually enjoyed playing Destiny.
The real destiny is still fun
I just stumbled upon this video and this brings me back to the glory days of destiny, some of my all time best moments i had on the xbox one, I miss those days
Kings fall took my team a month to get high level enough for a full clear. We loved it! Took absolute the most out of us but made us so much better. After that, we raided every week on reset day ☺️☺️ ah sweet days
I love your videos man. I fell out of playing destiny but I have so much history and love for destiny 1 and the first year of destiny 2. Watching these takes me all the way back so thank you for the content!
I love how Evan's become the communitys historian
Sorry so late, I love history videos like this. Maybe it’s nostalgia, or seeing destiny at its peak, or, yeah it nostalgia. Great job. Wish I could like it twice.
Interesting how everything in Destiny "Changes everything forever" :D Love the videos though.
Generally the yearly raids did have that effect.
Garden of Salvation not so much though.
@@roberthallard89 actually garden did play quite a big role in the year 3 story
@@TwoBadYe Yeah but not to the extent that forsaken did before it.
I don't think it brought much to the table that we hadn't already seen before.
@@roberthallard89 100% agreed it's just that most people seem to forget about the fact that the starting point for the last 4 season story started at garden of salvation when we made the vex angry enough that they unleashed the vex offensive
@@TwoBadYe True, although I do remember at the time thinking it all seemed a bit disjointed.
With Forsaken it just seemed to flow a bit better for me.
Man I loved this raid. I ran this raid more than any other raid ever. Great work on the vid.
Next video title:
Wrath of the Machine: Pursuit of Perfection
Or Wrath or the machine: Raiding perfected
....get it?
Wrath of the Machine: *[CONSUME ENHANCE REPLICATE]*
Wrath is my favorite raid in D1.

Bro this was everything. will always be my favorite dlcs the new subclasses the story the urgency and the intro of swords. I remember doing kings fall with my raid group on release
Gotta love gothalion’s reaction
Touch of Malice was Awesome and very well thought out. I just loved how it looked too and it's function was very unique.
“Some see a fun engaging challenge, I only see pain” Ghost.... Cayde’s odds and ends, roryx test
Honestly the jumping puzzle on the ships is so nostalgic for me and i love it. Home to some really good memories
“Tether being the first real debuff in destiny to my knowledge”
Someone didn’t play warlock did they?
Viking Funeral didn't gain the debuff effect until the April update, and Sunbreaker came out at the same time as Nightstalker.
😎👉
The tower music is giving me so much nostalgia
Never forget the calcified fragment on top of the warpriest blight
good lord these videos take me down memory lane, the nostalgia is real! Thanks for all the great content!
Me: Has a team still stuck on the same encounter for 2 hours.
Raredrop: Completely learns the Warpreist and completes it under 50 minutes.
Bro you good now?
lolosh99 I haven’t played once since the garden of salvation came out
thats not dedicated thats sad and embarrassing as shit
Drew Jackson I agree but man I was young and had nothing going on in my life had an awful part time job so like who cares 🤷♂️
this raid is my favourite time in destiny along with the new locations, campaign etc. So nostalgic.
Vault of Glass: the first and OG raid.
Crota's End: a raid that was hard when it first came out, now it's a laughing stock.
King's Fall: You want pain? An unforgettable experience? Want to topple a King? Kill a god
Wrath of the Machine: You wish to become *[PERFECTED]* do you not.
crota's end or as we now call it a "lost sector"
Joke or not, Crota's End is still one of my top 3 favorite raids. Destiny 1 nailed aesthetic in all its raids and Crota's End was just mindless fun.
dxt2891 we did a 19 minute speed run at one point.
Newbie reacting to Oryx in King’s Fall: OMG, he got so big!
*That’s what she said*
My best video gaming memory of all time is playing the campaign at midnight with a fireteam of guys I was playing magic with.
Agreed one person in the fire team even said I heard from someone it’s not done
This was one of the best time's I've ever had in gaming/gaming with friends.
Bungie: Okay so we’re supposed to have Destiny 2 next year so this last raid has to be fantastic. ‘Kings Fall’ we’ll call it. One encounter, four bosses. It’ll be great.
Kings Fall: *Is fantastic*
Bungie: That’s great, now we have a great capstone for Destiny 1.
Destiny 2: *Is delayed*
Bungie: Well shit, how in the hell do we top that?
Wrath of the Machine: ~What’s that coming over the hill~
Serious note though, Wrath of the Machine is to date my favourite Destiny raid and I cannot wait until it comes into Destiny 2 through the DCV so that I can share that experience with my friend who only got into Destiny with Forsaken.
you can always just take a break from D2 and have them play D1 with you.
This gave me so much nostalgia. i remember grinding it out on day one, must have been ~12 hours.
I feel like destiny was so close to becoming Anthem, luckily it never went down that road
If this raid returns in Witch Queen then I can’t wait!
D2 player here. But love to see the original. Your vids are a true tribute to the frenchise. Keep on doing it. Well done.
