Shotgun-God nah shadowkeep had more content, although shadowkeep didn’t have a new destination it still outnumbered roi in content (no I’m not counting age of triumph because that’s not a “rise of iron” include, the only thing shadowkeep didn’t have was a better raid, shadowkeep is defo to underrated
@@drosdraven9 actually, no it didn't shadowkeeps new content includes, a red tower on the moon that served no purpose, a new dungeon, 5 new exotics, 3 new armor exotics, a new raid that was based off a old location, (and I don't count artifacts or anything from season of undying because some of it was free) and rise of iron had, revamped location ( that wasn't a reskin), old enemies with slightly new mechanics, an amazing raid, exotics that made a huge impact, a short campaign, but an original one that didn't rely on old enemies, VENDOR REFRESHES, and strikes that actually mattered
@@youraveragehotdog6836 You say some of these things like ROI didn't do it as well. The Cosmodrome was just painted white with snow. The Plaguelands were new sure, but that was it. Also you can't say that Rise had old enemies then go and say it didn't relay on old enemies. Lets not act like Divinity and Xenophage didnt make a difference for raiding or even nightfalls. Then we go to finally see our first Pyramid Ship in game not just a cutscene. So that was our new and original story of that DLC. We've never seen the Darkness itself do anything until that point. People in the community still talk about turning that corner and seeing it for the first time but I don't hear anyone really talk about ROI if it isn't about the raid.
I’ve been waiting for this, I just started watching your content yesterday and I’ve finished all your D2 documentaries, keep making the damn good content!
Vault of Glass was my favorite raid in D1 (though I stopped playing before Rise of Iron was released so I never played Wrath of The Machine). Lots of good memories and lots of frustration over getting only materials instead of armor/weapons. Good times though.
You mentioned a hero moment. During a leviathan run we got calus to the last stand thing where you have to destroy his shield. My team got killed and I was the only one left and I popped a bubble to stay alive and managed to finish him. Felt good
Oryx changed my days so much that I had a tattoo carved into my upper right arm. But nothing hits the heart more than how far the community has come with this BEAST. I will forever asskiss AKSIS. EDIT: If anyone would like to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane now that crossplay is a reality, drop a response here. 🤝
I have a fun fond memory of this raid, my clan and I after several attempts got Aksis down but we wiped just about the same time he died (i don't remember how exactly.) So the encounter reset BUT we still got the loot from killing him funnily enough. We were glad to have beaten the raid but also very confused on what just happened lmao.
This raid holds a special place in my heart because it was first time I reached max light on all characters and got all the raid gear, and got all the achievements, idk why i just enjoyed it alot
Shadowkeep was ok just like rise of iron don,t include seasons they are their own content overall shadowkeep had a awesome raid with awesome weapons like xeno and divinity and a good story to led us in the upcoming trilogy of light vs dark overall it was awesome if we don,t count seasons
Bungie said Shadowkeep would be akin to Rise of Iron in terms of approximate size of the expansion. There was no other comparison made by Bungie between the two other than that.
Qwerty Bastard Siva changed the fallen? It was a reskin at best, with slightly different weapons. We’ve never gotten a new type of enemy in destiny history, it’s always just been reskins with slightly different weapons.
Baconthanos scorn were a completely new enemy type and taken while being the same models as previous enemy’s had a completely different play style attacks and weapons and new lore.
@@chargles301 The exact same can also be said about the Splicers. They were originally Fallen, yes, but once SIVA was introduced, they became different enemies with different attacks and behaviors, different weapons, different mechanics in some instances, and plenty of new lore with them too. My only issue with the enemies as we've had it in the Destiny franchise thus far is that it feels like too much focus has been put on the Hive. Yes, each enemy type has had their time to shine a bit, but the Hive have been the focal point of most of Destiny and at times it just feels like the other enemies are fillers, more or less. We've lacked further development on both Splicers and Skorn. They didn't just disappear, but their stories came to a sudden halt. Splicers don't even exist within Destiny 2, and that doesn't add up in my book. Why has one of the favorite storylines and enemy types of many people not received more attention? With how we've had a Warmind DLC and then a whole season focused on Rasputin, and so many references in lore, ships, sparrows, ornaments, and weapons tied to SIVA, why wasn't there a re-emergence of Splicers?
The original Outbreak quest, the Siva armor and weapons, the story, fleshed out artifacts (skorri's), etc., etc. It was such a wonderful and nostalgic time.
God i just hate revive tokens. Its hard enough as is to get enough time to revive someone without getting shitstomped by trash mobs or the boss. It just artificially inflates the difficulty. Raids are already hard, between wipes and just trying to keep your team alive at all, restricting your ability to push through is just extra
Yeah but at the same time D1 had normal AND hardmode. Normal mode was to learn the mechanics and get a team through it casually, while hardmode was for a challange. Wish that was the case in D2 so the raiding community wasn't as toxic..
@@Sweet7Montana no, normal mode was never about casual runs. in fact raiding was never meant to be casual, hence the reason it's called "endgame content" revive tokens is one of the best mechanics Bungie has ever introduced to us and made the raids much more challenging and fun, requiring full fire team sinergy to revive multiple dead allies instead of just waiting 30sec to revive Everytime someone dies like in D1
@@CarlosEduardo-rf8wl That is not true. Normal mode was ment to make it so people could acces endgame in a casual sense. Hardmode was for those who wanted to bring their A game. Even if it wasn't ment to be casual, people went into normal mode and got it done to just enjoy an activity. Tokens being fun or not is subjective, some people like it like you and others don't. All I am saying is D1 had at least 2 modes for 2 types of players, while D2 just has one.
Ive been playing Destiny since D1 beta and just did my first Raid last night (Spire of Stars). I’ve been really enjoying these raid breakdown videos but always wished to try it out. Had an absolute blast! I hope I get a chance to experience the D1 Raids I missed.
Sidenote: "The Busfahrer" was a German high skilled destiny Clan. I played destiny 2 with couple of them (TehCupido, neofight, ProX and snoopy) very chilled guys. Cupido said they didn't belive it they got worlds first and struggled with the waiting on what bungie on Twitter says. After they tweetet they escalated. Btw nice video Evan. I love wotm, it's also my fav
My most favorite raid was Kings Fall. The mechanics were so different and the first ever final stand blew my breath away. The story of this raid was insane and the music for each encounter just made it so much better and also letting Morgeth be the tankiest boss imaginable! The guns were also my favorite and the way they looked was perfect. I will also say wrath was my favorite too, but I just like how long and hard some of the encounters were on Kings Fall and how so many people died at warpreist and morgeth and even Orxy. It was a challenge and a hard one at that and same goes to Wrath of the machine, but it was too quick pace for me and I like the pace, but also want a challenge.
Don’t get me wrong Wrath of the Machine was absolutely fantastic, but nothing will hit me harder than my friends and I first run of the Taken King. Wrath of the Machine further extended that great experience, however the sheer scale of the Taken King was insane. In addition, I miss starting Destiny 2 fresh, and it showed all of your old raid completions on Destiny 1 with your respective fire teams. Both of these games had generated a lot of good memories, those of which I want to remember for years to come. Also pretty excited for Beyond the Light, can’t wait.
Even after years on Destiny 2, this is BY FAR my favorite raid ever. It was the first (and to this day the only) raid I ever completed multiple times with the same team of friends from start to finish, and it holds a special place in my heart Plus I still have nightmares to this day about the Aksis' wipe mechanic music (you know what I mean, THAT audio cue, everyone that played the raid knows what I'm talking about), I've heard that part of the OST hundreds of times, and I still hear it today.
It is. For many people, including myself, this is a nostalgia trip and Destiny was a part of our lives. The experiences that Destiny brought are incomparable to any game.
My personal favorite raid from Destiny 1 would be King's Fall mainly because in the Ir Anuk and Ir Alak encounter, you had to know the counter clockwise direction from where the orb spawned. I unfortunately never got to play Wrath of The Machine. I hope to do so sooner rather than later.
Right but the controversy over Wrath being "well they showed footage so its an unfair advantage" makes zero sense because anybody could see that video with the footage. Is it really an advantage if everybody can see the material? I'd argue not.
@@skylerrains8493 No it really didn't actually. Showing people that you had to jump off the ledge AFTER the encounter did not show people how to do the encounter.
was my first raid in destiny despite being playing very early from destiny’s release. made me fall in love with raids and went back and did them in reverse order of how they came out 😅

The Fallen is kill this add to use this weapon to kill this add to damage the boss, destory a TV or kill this add, grab the motes to bank them to get a tank while your team destorys certain spots, so players with a tank can stagger the boss with tank, then DPS.
Now Last Wish is more of a Taken Raid then Hive or Cabal or Vex, and that Taken feel as creative as the Fallen if done legit.
@@valzicplayz3845 None of them are that sterotyped.
@@cadeptt yes they are, when have you ever killed a raid boss without having to stand on a Plate or use an Artifact for Hive, Vex, or Cabal
To DPS Calus you need to grab orbs, kill enemies on plates, then stand on plates
Spire of Stars you need to grab orbs, stand on plates so someone can see the symbols, stand on plates so you can charge up the orb, stand on plates, throw balls at calus, DPS.
Vault of Glass a good raid but grab an artifact to DPS the boss or stand on plates to get the artifact to....DPS the boss.
Crota kill a knight with a artifact aka sword kill Crota.
Warpriest *STAND ON PLATES to get the thing to DPS the boss*
Golgoroth from TTK shoot his sack of unused cum then stand in it which is basically STAND ON PLATES to get that extra damage.
Orxy Daughters and Orxy STAND ON PLATES grab a orb to slam/steal a rift from a knight so you can be protected from blights that are basically orbs that DPS the boss aka ORXY.
Oh and the Raid for Curse of Osiris use an Artifact aka Vex head to ghost buster the shit out of the elements so you could DPS the boss.
Heck 1 of the raid boss for Last Wish which is the first 1 is just another Warpriest, stand on plates, kill this, DPS, *HIDE*
Atleast Garden of Salvation is a little bit different.
@Raid Banner dude a Scorn raid would be cool bc we never got a Pirate Raid, the Fallen are suppose to be Pirates but lets be real their not they feel like they have a sense in nobility especially in the Destiny 2 Fallen design look more clean and fresh. But the Scorn act more like bandits/pirates especially the design they have looks more like a bandit/pirate then the current Fallen.
They even use the stuff they scavage like Cabal missiles, or Hive ammunition like what the Baron with the sniper had who killed Cayde ghost.
I think VOG has to be my favorite!! Me and my friends would always get stuck at the Templar every time we tried it on a friday night after school. But we did it finally one day and I still only have one completion
No cap Genesis Chain might be one of the best and unique auto rifle of all time even though it isn’t a exotic
Facts ☝🏼😌💯
When i first saw the weapon i misread the name as "Genesis-Chan"
Great video! So many unforgettable moments with friends in this raid, along with all of the d1 raids. For me personally, VoG is 1a and WotM is 1b. They’re both so good.
Man, I miss this raid. It was honestly my favorite raid, although that was mainly due to aesthetics. I mean, it and it's gear just looks really cool, and it was really fun to run!
This was by far my favorite raid. Working to get the Outbreak Perfected and learning to do the bionary puzzle was amazing. Then getting to solve the other puzzles and see how Siva unfolded in the Destiny game.
This is the first time I've ever actually bought something because of a sponsor
Looking at Deep Stone Crypt now, i gotta say the Fallen Raids are always bangin’
50:09 they have done this in future raids. Garden final boss only doing one tether and using enhanced relay defender or 2 tethers. EOW going for a double break on first phase. Spite of stars quickly launching scout before gladiators drop, dogs however many stacks you want to get, calus how many people u want to put in void.

VoG will always be my favorite for the people and memories I made playing it, but WoTM is a very close second. I loved doing the Outbreak quest.
The Raid that Single-handedly Saved the entire ROI expansion and the raid that introduced the OG Coronavirus...
Or the future one. 😳
Rise of iron was pretty good compared to shadowkeep would rather have another rise of iron every year
Shotgun-God nah shadowkeep had more content, although shadowkeep didn’t have a new destination it still outnumbered roi in content (no I’m not counting age of triumph because that’s not a “rise of iron” include, the only thing shadowkeep didn’t have was a better raid, shadowkeep is defo to underrated
I’d love to see a video breakdown about the Age of Triumph for the end of D1.
I’ve been waiting for this, I just started watching your content yesterday and I’ve finished all your D2 documentaries, keep making the damn good content!
"Wrath of the machine" are words that carry alot of glory

I cringed watching her reaction lmao
Lol thank you for translating because she was mad as hell
@@keenanthornley7680 her reaction was hilarious lol
So I'm sitting here watching this as you're talking about the Iron Lord, and Drifter is over here talking about them. That is some insane timing.

“ITS A SPIDER TANK!!”
_”Why! I hate spiders!”_
This was really funny
It's like watching a documentary that I was present at the time for it's so weird and nostalgic
I feel like Wrath of the Machine and Scourge of the Past were named backwards.
Good point 🤔🤣 lmao
"Eyes Up" the best Destiny OST ever for a Raid Boss
I get chills every time
I love this channel. It is THE destiny time capsule.
This is my favorite raid besides the Leviathan Raids. I honestly can't wait for this raid to be redone in destiny 2
Definitely one of my favorite raids. Actually I enjoyed all the raids in D1 way more then the raids in D2.
Vault of Glass was my favorite raid in D1 (though I stopped playing before Rise of Iron was released so I never played Wrath of The Machine). Lots of good memories and lots of frustration over getting only materials instead of armor/weapons. Good times though.
"The raid that *perfected* destiny"
I see what ya did there :)
0:38 - 1:10
I should be watching the video, but I can't get past this part. The music, it's magnificent... 😭
Oh man in one of the clips someone got a green engram. Could you imagine the utter OUTRAGE if someone got a green engram today during a raid?
We would riot
There wouldn't be, and you know why?
GREEN ENGRAMS WERE AUTO-DISMANTLED back then. You pick one, it's already blacksmith materials.
Pedro Pequeno That was added later, with age of triumph iirc. He got actual armour in the clip
@@fearnyrunt9181 Oh really? Didn't know that.
Pedro Pequeno can we get that auto dismantle option on blues in D2? Please Bungie?
I have a fun fond memory of this raid, my clan and I after several attempts got Aksis down but we wiped just about the same time he died (i don't remember how exactly.) So the encounter reset BUT we still got the loot from killing him funnily enough. We were glad to have beaten the raid but also very confused on what just happened lmao.
44:20 my phone died on the skit i was like wtf is siva real
This raid holds a special place in my heart because it was first time I reached max light on all characters and got all the raid gear, and got all the achievements, idk why i just enjoyed it alot
I remember when bungie said shadowkeep was gonna be a rise of iron like expansion.
Not even close bungo lmao
Shadowkeep was ok just like rise of iron don,t include seasons they are their own content overall shadowkeep had a awesome raid with awesome weapons like xeno and divinity and a good story to led us in the upcoming trilogy of light vs dark overall it was awesome if we don,t count seasons
Bungie said Shadowkeep would be akin to Rise of Iron in terms of approximate size of the expansion. There was no other comparison made by Bungie between the two other than that.
Qwerty Bastard
Siva changed the fallen?
I just found your Channel a few days ago and been taking a trip down memory lane with all these raid videos. Fantastic Job...keep up the good work.
Yes, my favorite enemy in destiny. The Ella Skinny (43:05)
He meant eliksni which are fallen
@@tmuchinfo9671 he knows
Honestly, I'm not faulting him for how he pronounced it, but unfortunately, this is how I'm going to call them for the next week.
Honestly I hope to see siva make a return again somehow, it was definitely one of the best enemies out there
43:04 i mean, thats one way to pronounce Eliksni
I only got to play the first two encounters but I still had so much fun
"Siva was created by Braytech"
*Season of the Worthy happens*
Yeah about that
Did anyone else just LOVE the music that played during the Aksis encounter? There's this one part that's just... WOW
That good friend who went asleep. I heard a rumor he's still sleeping.
Wrath of the machine was the D1 raid that I want to do the most. I still have not been able to get a team to do any of those raids.
Hopefully it returns in D2.
I have to say that it’s a Warth of the machine and King’s Fall are the best raids for all Destiny and Destiny 2!
The original Outbreak quest, the Siva armor and weapons, the story, fleshed out artifacts (skorri's), etc., etc. It was such a wonderful and nostalgic time.
When raids were fun and not just a chore to get X exotic, but had actually good loot.
@@dadecalder7796 D1's hard mode raids don't have revives at all so why are you bitching
Yeah but at the same time D1 had normal AND hardmode. Normal mode was to learn the mechanics and get a team through it casually, while hardmode was for a challange. Wish that was the case in D2 so the raiding community wasn't as toxic..
@@Sweet7Montana no, normal mode was never about casual runs. in fact raiding was never meant to be casual, hence the reason it's called "endgame content"
revive tokens is one of the best mechanics Bungie has ever introduced to us and made the raids much more challenging and fun, requiring full fire team sinergy to revive multiple dead allies instead of just waiting 30sec to revive Everytime someone dies like in D1
The fact that we got CE instead of WotM is just shameful on bungie
Sidenote: "The Busfahrer" was a German high skilled destiny Clan. I played destiny 2 with couple of them (TehCupido, neofight, ProX and snoopy) very chilled guys. Cupido said they didn't belive it they got worlds first and struggled with the waiting on what bungie on Twitter says. After they tweetet they escalated.
Btw nice video Evan. I love wotm, it's also my fav
scourge of the past and wrath of the machine should've swapped names, change my mind
If you ever want to see that again. In the character selection screen I believe it's the bottom right view legacy or something like that
Alex callahan Really?! I always wondered if I could see that again, just for old times sake, thanks.
Even after years on Destiny 2, this is BY FAR my favorite raid ever.
It was the first (and to this day the only) raid I ever completed multiple times with the same team of friends from start to finish, and it holds a special place in my heart
Plus I still have nightmares to this day about the Aksis' wipe mechanic music (you know what I mean, THAT audio cue, everyone that played the raid knows what I'm talking about), I've heard that part of the OST hundreds of times, and I still hear it today.
Best raid imo. The whole raid felt like a meme and a joyride at the same time
I have yet to find a single thing that can replicate how cool this raid made me feel
I haven't played this I haven't even played d1 but Evan just makes these look so special
Anyone else mad that he pronounced “Eliksni” as “L-S-Kini”?
No, because human do mistakes. Do you?
soldado23 Ok but that doesn’t even sound right. There is no S before the K
no because im not a child who gets mad at stupid shit
EVAN ITS L-IKS-NI
one of the only raids i can remember stage by stage in detail including all the hidden chests like the one for the OG outbreak prime quest
RainFall
It didn’t show a single mechanic.
was my first raid in destiny despite being playing very early from destiny’s release. made me fall in love with raids and went back and did them in reverse order of how they came out 😅
>The raid that PERFECTED Destiny
>Video about the SIVA raid
I see what you did there.
Of all the raids, your video makes me want to play VOG. The VOG video actually got me playing D1 properly for the first time and I finished a hard mode crota, hopefully I can get a VOG team soon. Thanks! You should do the D2 raid videos!
