I think it is a little more complex than that. Jackson is a celebrity. Not one like a movie star, but still, a celebrity. We would not normally allow random celebrities to sit down on one side or the other during a trial as that can sway the jury. As Jackson is not a A-Lister Celeb I can understand the ruling. But his presence is a factor. I could see ruling the other way as well. Personally, were I the defendant, I would be furious if a famous person was allowed to sit in the courtroom in view of the jury in support against me. I don't think it is fair, but I understand it. @@JCMthebrand I agree with the judge's ruling, but "public is public" is not a compelling legal argument. As opposed to Twitter or the blocks of wood on CNN, the law is a nuanced and complex field - every legal principle is backed by nuance. So you can be a member of the public, and also hold unique sway over the jury due to your particular notoriety or propensity for prejudicial / inflammatory public comments. If that may bias the jury, then the defendant's right to a fair and impartial jury is jeopardized by that person's presence. The question is not whether Al Sharpton (or whomever's) right is violated, it is whether their privilege to be in the courtroom violates the rights of the defendant. Simply stated, the right to a fair and impartial jury outweighs the privilege of being a spectator in a courtroom (which is, indeed, a privilege and not a right). "Public is public" is the type of overly vague, offensively broad statements that the law specifically attempts to rebut.

Why have weapons at all? Here in Europe ( specifically Ireland) and all other, there are few guns as there are strict gun laws. We dont walk the streets, armed, just in case we are attacked. There are no guns. We walk the streets safely, not in fear. Guns are the elephant in the room. It's nothing to be proud of, as it's the very root of the major issue in the states right now, based on a section in a constitution relating to a time long, long ago when guns were, back then, a necessity. Nowadays, you dont need guns, and amendments can be changed. Unfortunately, most Americans don't see this as they dont travel, so have no idea what goes on in different countries. Most Americans are under the assumption that the entire world looks at the US with envy and wonder, wishing they could live there. That is not the case, and I have yet to meet anyone who would. The US is not free. A country based on fear with a very narrow education system and world view,, is not free. It's a real shame that more of you would not travel to other Countries, especially Europe. You would have a very different perspective on things. It's a shame to see such a powerful nation destroy itself from within, but it's exactly what is needed to garner at least some common sense.

I still think his place is outside, but it is not like it is the first time a civil rights or activist leader was sitting in a courtroom. So there is presedence.
@@arkainin4638 public is public, you can’t play selective public. He’s not causing any issues, he can’t intimidate any witnesses beyond what any other public person. Your ideas of how to handle this is very cherry picking.

@@CG-70 🐂💩
