  • In this video We are Doing Fall Manicure at Home using just One Nail Polish Brand - and it is Essie.
In the End of the Video, We will See How Long-Lasting this Manicure is going to be.
I always start with prepping the nails - soften the cuticle and pushing the cuticle back. I stop cutting the cuticle more than a year ago and now it is way easy to take care of my nails.
The next step is always dehydrating the nails - it will help your manicure to last longer.
As a base coat, I am using Essie base and top coat - 2 in 1. Base coat gives you the smooth foundation for the color coat.
And then we are going to use the color - I choose one of my favorite nail polishes for fall - beautiful dark purple color. I love Gel Couture collection because a lot of the color nail polishes which I’ve tried lasted for about a week some of them even longer.
Let me know in the comments What is your favorite top coat and if You have any tips how to use Fast Drying Top Coat, please share your ideas

For Essie Gel Couture (never base coat, they don't require it), I always do 2 or 3 coats of the nail polish, letting it dry very slightly between layers. Then I let the final coat dry for 2 or 3 minutes, then apply the Gel Couture Top Coat. I let that set for a minute or 2 then I go over everything with my SecheVite quick dry top coat and it looks fantastic and lasts just as long

Thank you for sharing your technique 💅🙂 What about Seche Vite - does it shrink the color coat? I love how fast this top coat dries nail polish, but I always have a problem with shrinkage

@@PerfectNailsAtHome It does shrink and drives me crazy! I still stick with it because it dries so fast and I can get it really cheap at TJMaxx or Marshalls. I'm a mom of two small kids so having a quick dry top coat is a must. I would love to try another quick drying top coat (like Cuccio) but its hard to beat that $5 at TJMaxx for the Seche Vite. Do you have any recommendations for other quick dry top coats?

This color is lovely. It applies more burgundy than purple, though in the bottle it looks purple! lol. Beautiful!

Do you have any tips on how to keep your nails from staining yellow? I heard people use whitening tooth paste to scrub their nails, or baking powder with hydrogen peroxide. What’s your opinion about these?

    • @PerfectNailsAtHome
      @PerfectNailsAtHome  2 года назад +5

Honestly, I never had this problem, the only step which I never skip - is using a base coat - it is a good foundation for the next coats and I guess it helps prevent nails from getting yellow. I never used toothpaste and baking powder for these purposes

Hello Irina, did you ever use Essie Gel setter top coat? If so do you find it as good as Gel Couture top coat? I'm also wondering if Gel Couture is in any way similar to Seche Vite (Seche Vite looks beautiful, but comes down in paches on first day after application...). Thank you very much in advance for your response ;)

Thank you very much for your comment! I have one problem with all the fast-drying top coats and it's shrinkage, I hate that! Yes, I've tried Essie Gel Setter, it's one of my favorite top coats, I like it more than Gel Couture. Seche Vite I don't like, because of really crazy shrinkage and on the next day my nails are not shiny anymore (So between Gel Couture and Seche Vite I choose Gel Couture). I am planning a video with the best top coats from my collection, so stay tuned for that 💅😍❤️

Very disappointed in Essie Here Stay basecoat, it chips off, Essie Blanc mini 5ml polishes, wouldn't dry and smudged, Essie No chips topcoat, it chipped...Nice shades but no durability. But Essie polishes strengthened my soft nails, only had 1 yes 1 torn nail in 6 weeks! Still like Essie, didn't work for me!
I just bought Zoya Anchor topcoat,
gotta wait! And Glisten & Glow topcoat is a good fast drying topcoat, can't wait! UK 🇬🇧

Do you find that the fast drying drops cause any shrinkage?

Not sure about the drops, but, unfortunately, most of the fast drying top coats cause shrinkage 💅

Doing all that to your cuticle’s are just awwwwwful. You don’t need to do all that, it’s just silly. No one sees that. No one cares. People are hardly ever going to even notice you wear nail polish, to begin with. Absolutely ridiculous and horrible for your nail health.
