I had Take Me To Thread on once and it lasted about two weeks before it started chipping! Also that top coat works with nearly any kind of polish, so I literally use it for everyrhing!
I love the topcoat. I use it will all my polishes now I haven't found one that it doesn't work with yet (I stick to Essie and OPI polishes). I do however always use base coat just because my nails get weak and break easy.

I love how these nail polish brands are marking these bigger brushes! I love take me to thread! Super pretty and great for winter. Also you should definitely do some Christmas nail art with these I think you could come up with such a pretty design for Christmas!
I have Princess Charming and LOVE it. Perfect neutral pinky nude. Gorgeous! And I definitely NEED Sheer Fantasy and the 2 reds. Wooo! As for the Gel Couture in general...I absolutely LOVE it. I have oily skin so my nail beds are oily; which makes it difficult to keep nail polish on for more than a few days before it begins to lift or peel. This polish is perfect! I get about 7 days using it. But...I do use my Orly Bonder as a base, if you can even call it that. It just makes my nails slightly tacky to grip the polish.
I don't have oily skin, but if I use a polish that requires over 2 coats, sometimes even one (plus base & top coat) my polish will pop off in a solid piece. It looks like press on nails! Even using dehydrator!
This looks a lot better than their regular polish. Every Essie I've tried is streaky AF. This looks like it levels out nicely. Would love to know how it wears. Thanks for the review!
I have quite a few of these! In general I find the formula is usually excellent and they are very shiny. The shape of the brush stem is great as you don't end up with too much polish running down the brush. I also like the topcoat, although I find it takes longer to dry fully than my regular QDTC.

I’ve not had a good experience with Essie before, really too sheer and 3 coats never covered, so stopped using Essie. But now! Essie Gel Couture look really good. I agree they do a lot of good work appropriate colours or visiting Great Aunt Prue. Lol. Caviar Bar is an on trend navy colour at the moment, everything’s navy blue. Be great to follow a hair colour blog, always fascinated me how hairdressers achieve that look. x

Beautiful colors!! I love the white color for the summer! It looks great with a tan!! I'm tan most of the year living in Houston. I wear sunscreen everyday because of the sun. My dermatologist told me to use Neutrogena sunscreen, SPF 55, on my face. I'm 66 yeas old. I already have some dark spots on my face from the sun and menopause. She recommended using sunscreen everyday, even on cloudy days, since the sun rays can shine through the clouds. I also use SPF 30 or higher on my body, whenever I'm in in the sun, which is usually everyday down here. I love white nail polish. It looks great with everything!! I like this line the best of non lamp gels. If I am on a trip or not doing daily cooking, cleaning, etc I can get this line to last up to a week. Alas I finally bought a lamp and am doing gel nails at home because I just use my hands so much I can keep regular or non lamp polish for more than a few days.
I just recently bought one of these polishes. Have not tried yet. I think a new color sounds fun...i would love to see a "standard" color on you....but....your hair..your way..cannot wait to see what you choose. So pretty- whatever will look great!

I’ve been using the Essie Gel Couture line for over a year now. Love the polishes and have a few that you featured today and a few more that weren’t mentioned today. I always use my Orly Bonder base coat. Can’t bring myself to wear polish without base coat!!. I also use the Essie GC top coat as my go to top coat for any polish and it works very very well. Unfortunately we don’t get the full colour range in Australia/New Zealand.
I've been using these for a long time. When I developed a severe allergy to gel polish I made it my mission to find a good quality polish with the gel like shine which would also last about a week! These definitely came top of all the gel like brands I've tried. Only down side for me is the colour choice. I'd love to see some brights for the summer!
I'd go light purple to dark purple ombré, but the old (young version) me would do it. Bad taste with Essie a few years ago, so i doubt I'd try these. But it'll he interesting to see some nail art. Thanks for sharing & have a great day today!

I've been using this line for 2 yrs now? Maybe less, but for a while, anyway. I get almost 2 weeks out of them. I am a stay at home mom, but I am rough with my hands, dishes, digging through toy boxes, etc. I only use the gel couture topcoat for all of my polishes, and get 1-1/2 weeks out of regular polishes, like China Glaze. I will never use another top coat again! Also you can buy the Essie Gel line on Head to Toe Beauty for $7 instead of $11!
The last three general line Essie collections have been on point. And I do likethe Essie gel couture line but like you I like to switch it up lol so no experience with wear
We saw these I think at an Ulta store and thought the bottle shape was neat. Loved the color selections but saw the word gel and didn't get any so now we gonna them since no lamp is needed. Great video as always.
First, I love your voice. It is so soothing which is why I checked in even though this was Essie. The first “expensive” bottle of nail polish I ever tried was Essie and it was streaky and blah. So I said no more. Since then exploring gels then other brands I’ve since changed my mind. Maybe I’ll give Essie another try. All in good fun: you talk about wearing conservative nail colors for work yet your hair is very colorful 🌈. Luckily I work from home so I can get away with it but how does that work out for you? Great video Kelli! I love the Essie gel couture line! I don't wear polish for more than a day so I can't speak for the wear time, but I love everything about those polishes! Especially the bottle shape! One of my favourite Gel Couture is Make the Cut! I love that colour it is so great for work and interviews and Winter time in general! I would love to see a vlog of you getting your hair done again :)
This line only lasts maybe 5 days on me. I like them but I’ve officially switched to doing actual gel polish at home. I do like this line for my pedicures. I also feel like I have to replace the top coat more often than others. It does dry out quick.
I’m curious about the actual wear of these polishes. I never really went with Essie polishes because their brush was so skinny and when you suck at painting your nails, that completely works against you. So I’m excited about the wide brush, but I always wonder about the gel claim, when it’s not really gel, actually with any line that has that type of polish.
BlackThornRose127 I don’t believe it’s as long lasting as gel, but it lasts longer than regular polish! With my experience it lasted about a week, maybe a bit less. I hope this helps!
This line lasts pretty well on me. Plus, I didn't use the Essie Brand topcoat. I used something else. I used a IndieBrand and the polish lasted about a week and a half. I'm pretty rough on my nails since I type and write a lot being a college student. I hope this helps.

I'm obsessed with the Essie Gel Couture line! I have weird nails and all polishes peel off in a day or two, but not this line! I got rid of all my polish and only use Gel Couture! I have ALL the colors!! And it lasts over a week for me! I have had a teal color (On The Risers) stain my nail, but it was the only one.
I was on the fence about trying this line, but I might give it a go now. I'd be super worried about staining and I'm totally impressed those reds didn't! Caviar Bar, though?! OMG! I'm actually wearing an actual gel polish in a suuuuuuper similar color. I LOVE a good navy. 😍😍😍

I'm thinking a warm burgundy is what you've done to your hair - covers the blue but warms your face. The polish concept is interesting, but i'm not at all a fan of creams. If it doesn't have some kind of metallic or glimmer in it, is not interesting to me. I'll have to see if any of the rest of the line is sparkly. :)
I have no Essie polishes. However.... I have a friend who only uses Essie. The polishes in this line are so shiny. That's what I like. Thx. Now I need to buy at least one to try. I know I'd love that brush. Does this polish remove with regular remover?
I don't have Essie gel, but I do have Sally Hanson and wet n wild. It does come off with regular polish remover, but it comes off in layers and it feels like a latex consistency .

My nails are peeling like insanity since I started chemotherapy a couple years ago, so I've been gluing press-on nails over them, trying to see if these no-UV-lamps-required "gel" polishes really work to avoid the UV cancer risks. I have this weird phobia about nail polishes that say not to wear top coat lol. It feels so wrong! I love Make the Cut. Such a pretty shimmer! I'd love to go to the salon with you and see what new color you get! I'm amazed at how long your color lasts. It stays so vibrant!

Those gel polishes are pretty. I have a lot of regular Essie polish but I hate the small thin brush. I wish they would transition to these wider brushes.💅🏻
I’ve tried this line before and I only get about two day wear of the nail polish before it starts peeling and chipping really bad. Normal nail polish lasts on me over a week with only a small amount of tip wear. Maybe I’ll have to try this line again.
I love the collection! Minus the newest "Concrete" Essie collection that came out, the Fall and Winter 2018 Collections have been SO GOOD! I'm surprised at how well the formulas have been and I love the new brush! ... For your hair, I would go for a nice warm Red colour on both sides. I think it would go well for Fall and Winter.

Take Me to Thread is my favorite as well! I initially wasn’t sure I would like it, but I fell in love with it and got it in August when I started my new teaching job. What kind of drying time do these have? I’ve looked at these at Ulta for the past year, thinking they were straight-up gel polishes, and passed them up. Knowing they are NOT, but give long wear and are so shiny, I’ll give them a try now! Thanks for letting us all know about it! 😊😊
The top coag dries slower than my normal quick dry top coat but quicker than their regular top coat! It's hard to give a specific time though since it's different based on your climate lol!
So how long did ur mani last with these? Just wondering how much longer they last than regular polish. I vote yes on the hair vlog. Loved the last one.
Marla Bearb My experience with these have been amazing. The regrowth came before any chips happened. It was a full 12 days before a chip happened. I wanted to go the full 2 weeks. But that regrowth was driving me nuts. Lol I know they cost a bit more than regular Essie. But every now and then my drugstore (Rite Aid) has them for 75% off on clearance. So most of the ones I have in this line. I’ve gotten them for $3. I’ve also found them at TJ MAXX.

So I said no more. Since then exploring gels then other brands I’ve since changed my mind. Maybe I’ll give Essie another try. All in good fun: you talk about wearing conservative nail colors for work yet your hair is very colorful 🌈. Luckily I work from home so I can get away with it but how does that work out for you? Would love to see a hair color vlog. I like your color creativity and would enjoy the inspiration. ❤️

Oh this video highlights something that's always bugged me, navy blue polish that just looks black!! Kelli would you consider doing a dedicated video of the best polishes that actually look navy blue? Ok, you got me! I thought you were really doing a gel video! I only wear OPI gel on my fingers, and regular Essie or OPI on my toes, but I want to try Caviar Bar now.

Great video Kelli! I love the Essie gel couture line! I don't wear polish for more than a day so I can't speak for the wear time, but I love everything about those polishes! Especially the bottle shape! One of my favourite Gel Couture is Make the Cut! I love that colour it is so great for work and interviews and Winter time in general! I would love to see a vlog of you getting your hair done again :)
This line only lasts maybe 5 days on me. I like them but I’ve officially switched to doing actual gel polish at home. I do like this line for my pedicures.
I also feel like I have to replace the top coat more often than others. It does dry out quick.

I’m curious about the actual wear of these polishes. I never really went with Essie polishes because their brush was so skinny and when you suck at painting your nails, that completely works against you. So I’m excited about the wide brush, but I always wonder about the gel claim, when it’s not really gel, actually with any line that has that type of polish.

I don’t believe it’s as long lasting as gel, but it lasts longer than regular polish! With my experience it lasted about a week, maybe a bit less. I hope this helps!
This line lasts pretty well on me. Plus, I didn't use the Essie Brand topcoat. I used something else. I used a IndieBrand and the polish lasted about a week and a half. I'm pretty rough on my nails since I type and write a lot being a college student. I hope this helps.

I'm obsessed with the Essie Gel Couture line! I have weird nails and all polishes peel off in a day or two, but not this line! I got rid of all my polish and only use Gel Couture! I have ALL the colors!! And it lasts over a week for me! I have had a teal color (On The Risers) stain my nail, but it was the only one.
I was on the fence about trying this line, but I might give it a go now. I'd be super worried about staining and I'm totally impressed those reds didn't! Caviar Bar, though?! OMG! I'm actually wearing an actual gel polish in a suuuuuuper similar color. I LOVE a good navy. 😍😍😍
THANK YOU for this review! They’ve been around at my drugstore for a while now and I just haven’t bothered with them. NOW I may consider picking some up. QUESTION though - what’s the dry time like? I really like how gel dries super quick, and honestly I don’t expect this to come close to a lamp dry, but would you say it’s quicker than usual or anything? Thanks again! 😘
I bought this recently and I would say the polish + top coat dry a lot quicker than usual.
I'm thinking a warm burgundy is what you've done to your hair - covers the blue but warms your face. The polish concept is interesting, but i'm not at all a fan of creams. If it doesn't have some kind of metallic or glimmer in it, is not interesting to me. I'll have to see if any of the rest of the line is sparkly. :)
This was my ride or die top coat for ages. I now use the Holo taco for most of my manicures.
I have no Essie polishes. However.... I have a friend who only uses Essie. The polishes in this line are so shiny. That's what I like. Thx. Now I need to buy at least one to try. I know I'd love that brush. Does this polish remove with regular remover?
I don't have Essie gel, but I do have Sally Hanson and wet n wild. It does come off with regular polish remover, but it comes off in layers and it feels like a latex consistency .
Thx. I’m gonna give it a try. I really don’t like gel polish because it is such a pain to remove. But I love the shine. So I’ve been starting to use some jelly polishes. They are harder to apply but once you build them up they are so shiny. And they stay that way. Thanks so much for your reply.

My nails are peeling like insanity since I started chemotherapy a couple years ago, so I've been gluing press-on nails over them, trying to see if these no-UV-lamps-required "gel" polishes really work to avoid the UV cancer risks. So far this brand seems like it might be the answer to my wishes! Thank you!!

Those gel polishes are pretty. I have a lot of regular Essie polish but I hate the small thin brush. I wish they would transition to these wider brushes.💅🏻
I’ve tried this line before and I only get about two day wear of the nail polish before it starts peeling and chipping really bad. Normal nail polish lasts on me over a week with only a small amount of tip wear. Maybe I’ll have to try this line again.
I LOVE the Gel Couture top coat! I use the top coat with lots of other brands besides Essie too!

I love the collection! Minus the newest "Concrete" Essie collection that came out, the Fall and Winter 2018 Collections have been SO GOOD! I'm surprised at how well the formulas have been and I love the new brush! ... For your hair, I would go for a nice warm Red colour on both sides. I think it would go well for Fall and Winter.

Take Me to Thread is my favorite as well! I initially wasn’t sure I would like it, but I fell in love with it and got it in August when I started my new teaching job. What kind of drying time do these have? I’ve looked at these at Ulta for the past year, thinking they were straight-up gel polishes, and passed them up. Knowing they are NOT, but give long wear and are so shiny, I’ll give them a try now! Thanks for letting us all know about it! 😊😊
The top coag dries slower than my normal quick dry top coat but quicker than their regular top coat! It's hard to give a specific time though since it's different based on your climate lol!
So how long did ur mani last with these? Just wondering how much longer they last than regular polish. I vote yes on the hair vlog. Loved the last one.
Marla Bearb My experience with these have been amazing. The regrowth came before any chips happened. It was a full 12 days before a chip happened. I wanted to go the full 2 weeks. But that regrowth was driving me nuts. Lol I know they cost a bit more than regular Essie. But every now and then my drugstore (Rite Aid) has them for 75% off on clearance. So most of the ones I have in this line. I’ve gotten them for $3. I’ve also found them at TJ MAXX.

I had given up on Essie due to the polish not wearing well for the cost. But may have to try these as I love the colors and they seem more rich then their regular line.
