    The reason your grandma let's it sit is so that the flour fully hydrates. Sometimes if the masa is older it tends to be drier and that is also why sometimes you'll have to add extra water if it's too tough . Learned that through trial and error.

    Just made these today and it was awesome. I mixed my own spices as I didn't have sazón or adobo powder but it tasted great. Thank you for an awesome tutorial. I was too lazy to make curtido

    Parece mentira, pero creo que las pupusas saben mejor en el extranjero. Supongo que es la calidad de los ingredientes. Los chicharrones hechos con posta de cerdo son, obviamente, excelentes. Nada qué ver con los desperdicios de carne que usamos en El Salvador. Y usar queso mozzarella en vez del queso cremado salvadoreño, ni hablar. Y la masa, también. Pero hay algo en los ingredientes "oriyinales" que le da a las pupusas otro "toque". Gracias por subir la receta en inglés para todos los descendientes de salvadoreños que viven allá y no hablan español. Abrazos desde Antiguo Cuscatlán, departamento de La Libertad. ¡Orgullosamente wanaka!

    Some ppl said cold water but I noticed that my maseca is so hard once it's cooked. I'll try warm water next time

    why do you use oil?? I've watched so many videos and most don't use oil. Is it better to use a little oil? Also, have you tried covering the cooking pupusa to see if they cook faster?

    I made pupusas today and it was an epic fail it came out hard 😂 so if I were to add 2 cups of masa it would be 4 cups of warm water? Need advice please!!!!

    Demasiado aceite en el comal, no es necesario ponerle, los ingredientes que lleva la pupusa tienen suficiente grasa por eso se ve como que son pupusas fritas.
