Wow! It’s amazing to see you making this! As a Salvadorean though, one tip of advice: make the curtido the day before so that it can really get soft and tasty and for the chicharones, my mom uses pork belly! You have really good pupusa technique and that isn’t simple! You did really good! I love your channel!
Bahahaha I read your message after I wrote mine and while you were nice and polite I pretty much meant the same…. And on top of that el curtido is flashed boiled, just dropped into the boiling water with oregano, salt and chilli peppers then taken out immediately then left in white and apple cider mix vinegar with shallots or small onions, jalapeños y sanaoria…and boom taste the real salvadorean curtido

Hi Claudia, thank you so much for this delicious recipe. I am very excited to make these! As a Filipina who's married to a Salvadorean, pupusas are one of our many favorite Salvadoran treats. We're from San Francisco, and pupuserias are not hard to find. We'd usually just go to our favorite restaurants to have them because I always thought they were a lot of work. These can also get pricey after a while. I attempted making these as homemade, and by trial and error finally successful in making edible ones, they're not the best but I didnt have you tube or Google back then, but I thought I did alright. I very much appreciate the helpful video and now I can make the chicharon style! I can tell my husband that I learned it from the beautiful Ms. Claudia. Also the curtido is so addictive! Buen provecho! 💖💖💖

I grew up eating pupusas, but unfortunately never got the chance to learn how to make them from my grandmother. She only spoke Spanish, so it was really hard for me to communicate with her. Although despite the difficulty, I still loved my grandma and still managed to find ways to communicate in some way. This is something I've always wanted to learn, especially after my grandmother passed as it reminds me so much of her.

Puede probar hacer los chicharrones con Pork shoulder, tiene que ser una carne que lleve un poquito de grasa y después lo puede poner en el procesador con los demás ingredientes, y la salsa de tomate puede hacerla con chile de árbol y el curtido necesita más agua ya que ese vinagre es más ácido y hacerlo un día antes estará más delicioso. Y otro dato la masa no lleva sal, bueno así la preparamos en El Salvador.
Claud, Love your recipes. But the pan of frejoles molidos caught my attention right away. Being mexicano there wasn't a meal served by our mama our nanas or tias that didn't have beans as a side dish. You and your sis cooking bring back such happy memories of my childhood, Gracias hermosas!

I absolutely loved this video UNTIL I got to the finale when she poked it with a FORK. I am Puerto Rican and when I visited the beautiful country of El Salvador I almost got arrested for eating my pupusa with a fork. I quickly learned how much fun it is to eat with my hands. It adds to the charm of this wonderful dish 👋🤚👐🤲 eating with our hands is the future
Looks super delicious though I'm not sure if this is one I'll try to tackle soon:). Is curtido sometimes fermented instead of made like a quick pickle?
Good morning thank you for your recipes they’re so good and what I like is that you show us how to make everything step-by-step and it makes it easier and at that point I do want to cook one question what about onion in the salsa do you add onion to the salsa or no will you give it a different flavor or what do you recommend thank you so much🌻
The flavor for the chicharron is great. The issue I have with the masa is, it needs Manteca or vegetable oil because with JUST WATER, the pupusas come out WAY TOO DRY. The consistency needs to be that of fresh play dough or a smidgen softer. The tomato sauce is not the right consistency either. Peel the tomatoes by blanching them. Boil onions and garlic with the chile's till they are all soft. Then blend them and fry up the salsa.
By the way I made your chocolate rice pudding and it was amazing.. I think I like this one more than the original flavor 😆 I love chocolate so it had to be the winner! Gracias Claudia 👍🏼👍🏼
