  • Hello my beautiful fam! Welcome back to my kitchen today I’m going to share with you how I make some delicious pupusas. I’m not Salvadoran but I love pupusas, and here in Az I have not found a good spot where they sale them, so I was determined to learn how to make them. ( and gosh they are as close as the only time I remember having a good pupusas) The one time I had them was when one of my moms friend made them,( she is Salvadoran) so shout out to her for helping me with this recipe! They are seriously delicious, so please if you are from El Salvador don’t come after me if Im making them wrong 🙈 give me your tips so I can master this recipe 😊 I by no means trying to offend anyone by recreating a recipe out of my culture, i enjoy them as much as I enjoy a gordita( they are in my opinion very similar) keep in mind like every recipe and every household there are tons of variations that make this delicious recipe, you can always adjust it to your taste, I really hope you enjoy it as much as me and my family do, and as always if you do please don’t forget to give me a big thumbs up, comment down below your thoughts and if you new to my channel please hit that subscribe buttons so you can be part of our family!!!!!! 😘

You should try our Family's tacos
Hamburger meat and diced potatoe boiled. And we make a cortido out of Shreded cabbage and carrot soaked in vinegar and salt and pepper and you fill you corn tortillas. And fry them. And then you add your chili cheese and sour cream so good

As a salvadoreña I applaud you for trying to make this recipe, my mom own a pupuseria back in El Salvador she’s the pupusas master lol, and let me tell it’s one of the hardest dishes to master! One tip blend your frijoles and when it’s little warm add the cheese and then kneed it together, make the dough a little softer these two trick will help you so they don’t crack. 😉
Thank you for sharing, this is how it should be embracing each others culture!

This was wonderful. I do have one tip that my mother taught me, for the cheese she mixes 2-3 cheeses together, the base is always queso fresco, then she will add queso cotija and monterey jack cheese (monzerella would be fine, also oaxacan cheese). I love how you use fresh beans from the olla, it makes a total difference. Hugs and kisses

I love! pupusas my husband is from El Salvador so his mom would make these all the time I would make them every now and then but they were hard to form so I just kept tryin different ways to make it easier for me to form them and finally got it down. You should make your masa softer it is sooo much easier to make them they will not crack like that. Your masa may seem too wet and you may think its too sticky but it’s perfect as we use the oil on our hands too form them the will not stick to your hands at all. Just a little tip 😉 Love all your recipes by the way 😍

I’m Salvadorian and currently learning how to make them from my mom and all I can tell you is when you make the masa, use lukewarm water, not too warm but not too cold. Your masa needs to be soft enough so when you add the filling, it’ll be easier for you to flatten them. If they break, you can easily just close it with the oil like you did on the video as well.

Wow, everything looks very yummy and traditional. I would say that those pupusas are delicious and look as good as the traditional pupusas Salvadoreñas. El curtido se ve precioso: nice color and se ve rico. Gracias joven señora. Desde Redding CA de su amiga Salvadoreña. 🙏🏻😘

This is an awesome video. Im Salvi and so is my husband so this is a common dish I make. I'll have to invite you here to Colorado for some home made pupusas. There really isn't any good pupusas restaurant here either. Cali is the best for that. You are right the more you practice the better they come out. Great job.

The little "bowl" technique made so much sense! I tried to follow another video and she made it look so easy but you were able to explain it a little better for me and the close up of your hands was very helpful! I can't wait to try it again!

I am white but my husband is half Mexican half Salvadoran and you have helped me learn how to make some of his most favorite foods :) By the way, I live in Arizona too and the best pupusas we have found are at Cristina's (in Avondale) and El Guanaquito (near downtown Phoenix). Thanks again for all the great recipes!
