This song is FIRE! The Conjuring from this same album is another Banger. Someone mentioned that this sounds like early metalica, that would be because James Hetfield basically stole Dave’s riffs and Spider Cord or Spider technique and taught them to Kirk Hammet, and there is video of James Hetfield getting frustrated with Kirk because he couldn’t get his fingers in position to play Dave’s riffs and Spider cord technique.

I'm 50, did high school loving these guys! This is somewhere on my Top 50 Megadeth favorites. The poetry is astounding! Yes, yes, violent and horrible! And beautiful too

I was 15 and a freshman in high school when this came out, and it hits just as hard now that I'm 52. The best Megadeth album as far as I'm concerned.

The album cover artwork was by Ed Repka. He did a lot of album art for metal bands back then. He is a great artist.

Peace Sells is not only my favorite Megadeth album but also my favorite album cover. The orange coloring ready depicts the post apocalyptic landscape and sky. Love the way Vic Rattlehead is leaning over the FOR SALE sign. Classic.

First, hope you feel better soon. Even a mild case of COVID can leave you drained. Second, thanks for playing Good Mourning/Black Friday. I think half the reaction I have seen someone mentions the usage of Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, you understand Megadeth. Beautiful Chao is an excellent way to describe at least the first 3 Megadeth albums. Good Mourning/Black Friday is probably the heaviest Megadeth song in terms of lyrics. Like a lot of Megadeth songs, these lyrics have different meanings to different people, but in the end, the song is about someone of murders people. It is not praising or condoning the person, simply telling the story from their mindset. The music is crazy. The first solo, over the beginning part, is played by Chris Poland. When the song then kicks into the next gear, the next two solos are Dave Mustaine. When you have listen to Megadeth long enough, you can actual learn the differences in Dave's solos and other guitarist in the band by his tone and the way he plays. Chris performs that last solo where you talked about his fingers moving so fast. I said this before but will repeat it now, Chris played Jazz Fusion before joining Megadeth and his Fusion style is clearly heard on the first two albums he plays on. As for Dave's voices, you either love him or not. I can't image anyone else singing these songs. Dave's voice, there are no others who come to mind who sound the same. Again, thanks for the review. Two more songs off this album to list to are My Last Words and Peace Sells, if you haven't already reacted to it. Also, check out some songs off Killing is my Business..., Megadeth's first album. It is even rawer than this one. Last Rite/Love to Death is a good starter. Make sure to listen to the original and not either of the two Remastered versions. The first remastered is closer to the original while the second remaster changes the ending of the intro from Last Rites. It's a real buzzkill. Megadeth!

This is one of those rare multi-part songs which is actually one song, and it's truly breathtaking to me, in its movements. It's a track inspired by Dijon Carruthers, one of the band's early drummers, who had been a Luciferian Satanist for a time. Dave Mustaine had seen him writing down strange alchemical symbols, and Dave, having been raised as a Jehovah's Witness and recently started dabbling into practices of the occult, hadn't been certain of what they'd meant, so he'd written a song about someone being possessed by a demon after attempting to make a deal with it to bring a deceased loved one back to life, and going on a murderous killing spree as a result of it. Black Friday symbolizes the day after Thanksgiving, but Dave had taken it into a demonic direction, as a person looking to sell their soul to this evil being. It had been a fairly unique concept for a thrash metal song, at the time.
This track is from Megadeth's 1986 2nd album, Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?, and its recorded lineup is as follows:
    Dave Mustaine - guitar, vocals
David Ellefson - bass guitar, backing vocals
    Chris Poland - guitar
    Gar Samuelson - drums
Chris and Gar were fired from the band shortly after this record had been released, as they'd been selling the band's musical equipment to gain money for drugs. They'd been caught by Dave, and a cycle of him firing band members had gone into full swing. Some would say that he'd been channeling his inner Metallica, at the time. Really, they'd deserved it, if you ask me.
I'm glad to see this track on the channel. It's a fantastic example of Megadeth's early ingenuity, and some of Poland's best lead work, in my opinion. I've got a feeling that hearing more of this record and hearing more of the record before it will be very new experiences for you, and definitely eye-opening. I may need to recommend some early Metallica tracks as well, for context on certain aspects of specfic songs. More on that later, though. Thank you very much for recording this reaction, as always!!! Please keep it up with all of this incredible work, Randi!!! 🥰💙

Best Metal band ever. Megadeth gets a like every time. Please do more.
My Last Words next. Or anything from their first 4 albums is all gold. ALL GOLD
Later are great as well, but first 4 have chaos and energy that can never be touched.

This album, a lot of times drinking booze and this song especially was like a blackout song for me and Slayer - Show No Mercy (Usually The AntiChrist) were ringing throughout the halls as I got drunk, thrashed the place and woke up to a pissed off wife. Listening to a song then don't remember anything lol. Slayer and Megadeth times, not really good times but these songs got us by, even if we did get loaded and break stuff. Some real OG's carving SLAYER into their flesh. \m/

The version of this song is the remixed version. Check out the original recording. Dave Mustaine remixed all the older albums several years ago. They don't have the same feel as the originals. I think you'll love the original version of this song much better. Even his vocals are much more menacing on the original because of the reverb in his vocals.

Closely related to the sound of early Metallica. This song reminded of "Fight Fire With Fire". I'd be bold enough to describe it just what I'd expect of a thrash song of the day.
There was something like a meltdown in my mind. So much to to take in, and make sense of. (Clearly I was lost to any solid compression soon after it picked up pace).
But that is no criticism of the song or the band. I'm just getting old and slow. A bit like Biden. But I still have common sense.
Still got that Easy song in my head, and it's reluctant to move over.
So a fair appraisal seems elusive. However, I like it, and no fault stood out either.
Randi, my dear sweet friend. Kick your feet up once your little ones are sleeping, and fall asleep where you sit. You're doing great, you've got this. And the fort is brilliant.
    TTFN.

Funny how at the end, or closing comments you made about Dave Mustaine's vocals, you are actually complimenting the vocalist, while some people really hate his vocal delivery in Megadeth. In my opinion, at Peace Sells, Dave has the best moments than most of Megadeth's discography, at the repeating " paint the devil on the wall" part, his voice sounds very dry and I love it! In the Rust in Peace album, he sounds a bit cartoonish and, maybe, this is why people might hate him
