Don't know why Dave Mustaine does not get credit for the way he deliveres vocals on this whole album. They always attack his vocals but I have a lot of respect for what he does specially on this song, unless people don't know what metal represents by their vocalists
I would call Mustaine’s voice an acquired taste. And I truly appreciate his voice. I recognize he’s not the best voice in the world nor near it, but I learned to love it, because the music itself is so great, that Megadeth can’t be thrown aside just because of his voice. 🙂
I admit it is sometimes painful to watch him sing live but i can't think of any other voice that would fit better in megadeth songs. Taste aside, Dave has my respects just by singing while playing those technical riffs
I like how this song is like "Here is a killer riff for ya." and "Here is another killer riff, don't like it? Too bad, haha, here is some guitar to shred you too, we ain't braking for nobody!"
This album is the reason I love Megadeth over Metallica. Scott Ian once said Mustaine is like a jazz musician, that his music goes in so many different directions. You never know what comes next. Mustaine is a genius.
He was very influenced by Gar and Poland, who were jazz musicians, Poland still is actually. If you listen to very early Mustaine (Metallica days) its more punk fused with metal rather than jazz.
'Peace Sells... But Who's Buying' is easily the most jazzy thrash album of that generation. It's so fucking catchy and full of hooks ...and, that riff that comes in at 8:30 is one of my most favorite ever... and then 9:33.
I zaw this tour back in 86 I was 16 and bribed the bouncer at the back door and got in to see the show. Tiny bar maybe a few hundred people at best awesome experience
ive kept a copy of this since 86 when i was 9 yrs old....my first time ever hearing metal was this album...stuck with me, im 44 now. Its actually in my cd deck in the car right now
My fav is the conjuring. I bought killing is my business and business is good, peace sells but whose buying, and so far so good so what at the same time so this was my introduction to metal. The only thing my mom said was at least it's not parental advisory except so far so good so what was. That was my first parental advisory cassette. Because she wouldn't let me have vulgar display of power because it was parental advisory. After these 3 I got Metallica ride the lightning, master of puppets, and killem all. Thus a metalhead was born. I was 12 13 at the time. So like wolf My mom and grandmother were not fans of the album covers for all 3.😆😆😆🤘🤘🤘
Only one man could pull off the vocals for songs by Megadeth, with their relentless speed . . . Mustaine himself. His voice is like the howling of metal angels.
They were my first concert in '89. Then they came back through with Testament like 6 months later in '90, went and saw them again. When Dave cracks of that line "You Mean You Put A Price On Peace" I had never seen a building come to life like that.
The intro always sounded to me like a great background music for war footage for the amazing American Army Air Corp of WWII. The uncertainty when things are horrible. Young men waking up to do an impossible job. So powerful! God bless the Army!
I'd say this is my favourite on "Peace Sells...", which was also my first Megadeth album. Back in 1986, I liked Metallica's MOP still better (they were my favourite band then), but if you asked me today, I'd put "Peace Sells..." above MOP. Even though it's 20 minutes shorter, it feels like it has more breaks/changes, it's more original and it doesn't have a song that should not be (no offence meant to anyone who likes that song!). I also like the raw sound as well as on Metallica's RTL which really had gotten me into (Thrash) Metal two years earlier and is stil my favourite Metallica album. Since you, WolfKain, mentioned that you like the raw sound on "Peace Sells..." (and also RTL), I wonder if you've ever heard Détente's album "Recognize No Authority" which is also from 1986, was one of the very few Thrash Metal albums featuring a female vocalist (Dawn Crosby - R.I.P.) and has IMO an even rawer sound.
Excelent pick, guys! Although 'the conjuring' is my favorite, this is an absolute banger. For sure one of Megadeth's best songs ever. This album is a masterpiece, btw. 🤘🏽
Hello、nice to meet you, message from japan🇯🇵 MEGADETH is my favorite band. This song is so fast,so technical, and so powerful!! Speed ,power and technique are basis of Heavy Metal, most important factor. I could enjoy music through your reaction movie.Thank you😄 Have a nice day😃
So I'm the only one who thinks Black Friday could have been done just a little bit better? It just feels a little disconnected in certain parts to me. darkest hour is good from beginning to end. Just my opinion of course 🤷🏼♂️
Gen xers who lived through this era know this is a masterpiece and really a jazz album disguised as metal. Thats how talented the early Megadeth lineups were.
Dave's imagination when composing these songs is a testament to his relentless pursuit to get over on metallica.that was his only motivation at one time.i don't think there has been a bigger grudge held on a band in the history of music.dave had direct influence on 3 of the big 4 and his place on the mount Rushmore of thrash is secure.
This might be a late comment. But can you do Set The World Afire? It’s off the So Far.. So Good, So What! Album after Peace Sells which is basically forgotten since it’s between Peace Sells and Rust In Peace. A little bit about the song is that it’s the first song that Mustaine wrote after being kicked from Metallica.
I'm sorry she threw the cover away! Although things on that cover are coming true.... Great album by the way. Megadeth got me through those young years, and they kick ass to this very day.
I agree that this album might be their best. Also agree that this intro ('Good Mourning') might be the best intro of any song, and has the coolest, sexist guitar playing there is. As much as I love Rust in Peace and Marty's playing, I prefer the Chris and Gar years. Chris Poland was such a fluid and technical player. He is a master. You might notice there is hardly any compression/gain/drive on his leads, but he didn't need any. Compression hides sloppiness. Pretty much zero sloppiness with Chris...And Gar's signature sound, very fast, but precise and heavy, yet not so pounding.
It's a shame Mustaine won't play this song live anymore because of his religious beliefs. I got to see them play it back in the '80s it was the highlight of the show for me!
Please react to the two new ABBA songs please, that got released on the 2nd Sept. first new songs for nearly 40 years. One is called ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ the other is ‘Please Don’t Shut Me Down’ 🙏🏽
I fucking love this band..way better than Metallica IMO.....I do believe however that a better vocalist would have been a huge benefit. Love these guys
by the last sentence, you just said that you do not like Megadeth... It is unreal and obviously lie to say that you LOVE Megadeth more than Metallica and you'd like to have another vocalist at the same time.
@@donaldcampbell9483 Metallica album sales: Beyonce: hold my wine cooler, Lars. Metallica is my favorite band, but citing sales alone is not a good enough argument as to who is the better band. I love them both.
IT WAS BETTER !! 😆 Joking aside, music has fallen dramatically since the internet killed off the record labels. That motivational money that drove us by the thousands to become Gods of Metal. Just isn't there in the same way.
Dave proved on the newest album that Ellefson can be replaced....not the best decision and in my opinion was a very childish decision but the new album is great.
Chris Poland's leads in the beginning are just perfect for the atmosphere of the song.
Yes! An absolute master! 🙏
Chris Poland's leads are perfect. Always.

@@MaglorMusic Plain and simple, people who disqualify Dave's vocal deliver just never will acquire the required taste in metal.

Lars Ulrich of Metallica was proud of Mustaine when this album came out. In his words, he said it was an amazing Thrash Metal album.
'My Last Words' concludes with the most awesome guitar solo ever.
Some like Rust in Peace better, but for me, Peace Sells is the best!!🤘💀
I got this album when I was 15, and it hits just as hard now that I'm 52. The best Megadeth album in my opinion
I still remember picking this up on release day and hearing it for the first time. I forgot all about Metallica 🤣

Welcome to the greatest Megadeth song of all time.
...closely followed by Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Five Magics, Ashes In Your Mouth and The Conjuring :D
Swear, nothing sounded the same after this.
I'd like to add "Wake Up Dead" to this awesome list!
Chris Poland's solo is both cathartic and orgasmic :D

New Megadeth album should be released in the next couple of months, it’s titled “The Sick,The Dying…..And The Dead”
The last 40 seconds are so good, pure aggression
Low key hear that part for another 3-5 mins lol so gd sickk
Finally more Megadeth

Sounds like the remixed version. Personally, I love the "muddier" sound of the original, soaked in reverb!

Sistah might’ve thought of blues since Gar implemented Jazz fusion into his drumming.
I was surprise on that intro!!
A Thrash/ Speed Metal "master class" masterpiece...

I’m always amazed at the argument between Peace Sells and Rust in Peace. Where is So Far…So Good…So What?

"The Fun Palace" by Annihilator?
