The Nocturnal One single came out at the same time my life was falling apart. And everytime I listened it hit my nerves so hard. Ever since I've been a big fan of Drudkh. I've listened to Blood in Our Wells in the past, but now it's become one of my favorite albums. My favorites are A Few Lines in Archaic Ukrainian, Blood, They often see dreams, and Eternal turn of the wheel. I honestly believe Drudkhs music was a big factor that saved me.
Tbh you can pretty much start with any album (except the instrumental album) Blood in Our Wells and Autumn Aurora are what got me into them though and have loved them ever since.
First? Hell yes! Slowly getting into Drudkh through your album ranking. The perfect music for the inevitable frozen hellscape that is a Maine winter soon approaching. Love the deep dive!
Really love Blood In Our Wells and my favourite Autumn Aurora! I have to say that Drudkh's bassist is super-underrated; his runs on that 2018 album are incredible. Speaking of Drudkh-related bands: any chance that you'll do a Blood of Kingu ranking?
I bought Handful of Stars when it came out at the local music store. I hated it so much I returned it. What's definitely not expecting that post Rock sound
I've had a rough year, and its been so long since I've watched one of your videos and its very comforting. And its perfect the video I tap into again is about my favorite black metal band of all time. I still have a cassette of them in my drawer.
Drudkh really are amazing, the first 4 and the last 2 albums I think are all on par with each other. Swan Road is one I go back to the most I think for some reason, some really lovely songs. I enjoy Songs of Grief and Solitude, it's quite nice, plus I like how most of the songs on it are softer versions of Swan Road tracks. Though this album is still definitely the weakest.
I love every album from Forgotten Legends to Estrangement. After that they lose some of the magic in my opinion. Still a great band. I agree 100% on The Swan Road. It's definitely a grower. Blood and The Glare of 1768 are my among my favourite songs they ever did.
Thank you for swearing a lot less than usual, this time: it makes the listening experience a lot more enjoyable, and you are articolate enough for not needing such cheap tricks.
are drudkh nsbm? genuine question because i love their music, but dedicating an album to stephan bandera is a bit sus lol. regardless if they are or not tho, still cool riffs.
No, they are not. I mean there is no nsbm lyrics in their songs. It's mainly about nature and solitude. Compare it to Mxlxtx or black magic ss etc. Stepan Bandera def was far right, but not nazi. In ww2 his wing of Ukrainian insurgent army fought with third reich on one hand and with ussr on the other. For ukrainians Bandera is the person, who fought for independence, not for supremacy white race or other nazi ideas.
Stalins crimes are why many Ukrainians support "nazis." Though the nazis as a movement were against Ukrainian independence. The are nationalists, not nazis. Bandera was locked up by the nazis for a while, though they let him out to collaborate with them later. And Ukrainian "nazi collaborators" were not nazis for the most part. Even the guys in the Gallicia SS division. Being a "nazi" is not cut and dry when someone is fighting Stalin who was equally as brutal as Hitler.
@@RichardCranium. Brother, you can't believe how your comment has made me feel. Someone has finally said this shit, understanding the context behind a lot of Ukrainians' politics, bless you and love from Ukraine.
One of the best black metal bands ever!
I am hyped for a Summoning Deep Dive
Thank you fot support! With love from Ukraine ♥

After all the praise I've heard, it seems to be time to dive into Drudkh already.

Drudkh's music isn't really wintery, they use warm/autumnal tones

Easily my favourite atmospheric band besides burzum. Have you ever heard of the band hellfucked?
